Work of Heart

Designing "Work of Heart" for National Sewing Month was so much fun and I am really pleased with the results!

Choosing paper and a Cricut cut does take some time for me, but I remembered having this pack of 5x7 papers. With the pretty patchwork and other patterned papers, I thought this would make a nice sewing theme card! The name of the paper pack is missing.

Using Cricut Lite Lovely Floral, I cut the corners that are with the "Scatter Kindness" saying at 2 inches. I chose to use the "work of heart" saying and the heart to go in the center of my little quilt. Each was cut at 2 inches. I cut "work of heart" 3 more times using buff cardstock for a chipboard effect.

The sewing machine is from Heritage, cut at 1 3/4 inches using one of the patterned papers. Thought the stitch look on the paper was neat! I also cut the sewing machine again three more times using buff cardstock to give a chipboard effect.

I added a purchased small crochet doily from my little treasures to the card. To add hand sewing, I stitched a Silk Ribbon Embroidery rose on the doily. I enjoy silk ribbon embroidery, but like some of my other hobbies, it was pushed aside when I bought the Cricut. Added faux stitching to the quilt, sentiment, and heart. One heart is placed to give appearance of being stitched. Recollections gemstones for a little bling, Martha Stewart ink and ribbon bow.
