Berry Sweet Ice Cream Cone

This is only my second time using the Cricut Sweet Treats cartridge. I wanted to try the card feature and I chose the ice cream cone on page 34. It is cut at 7 inches using a buff color cardstock. All my papers are from my scrap paper stash. I used several Cuttlebug folders for added dimension. The Houndstooth folder is used on the lower part of the cone and Divine Swirls on the pink and chocolate layers. For the strawberry, I used Swiss dots and lightly inked the dots with green.
I cut the Layers feature using brown paper and again using green paper. Then I trimmed off top piece of the brown so I could have green color for the strawberry leaf. To sparkle things up a bit, I applied Stickles Lime Green on the leaf and Stickles Frosted Lace on the chocolate for the appearance of white chocolate dripping over it!! Yummy!!
For the sentiment, I used the word feature on page 47 on Simply Charmed. Berry Sweet is cut 1" on regular and shift  key.
Hope you enjoy!

Challenges:
Paper Cutz - #99 Ice cream cone, popsicle, ice cream sundae or milk shake
Tacky Tuesday's Challenge 8 -  Cool treat and word sweet

Paper Playtime Ch# 50 SUMMER

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a great weekend! It is time again for another fun challenge at Paper Playtime. Challenge 50 is Summer! So many things came to mind when I saw the challenge theme and it was hard to decide which idea to use. My thoughts kept returning to things that my kids and grandkids enjoyed during the summer. There is a wooded area behind my house and the boys always had lots of fun camping and sleeping in a tent in that area. So I began to look for something with a camping theme.
First I want to tell you about my card. I have seen pretty Twisted Easel cards and decided I wanted to try one! Mary at Cardz TV has a great video showing a Twisted Easel card. Be sure to visit Mary for all the details.
I started with a 4 1/4" x 9 3/4" piece of buff colored Colorbok cardstock. This makes an A2 card. While checking out the clearance items at Michael's last week, I picked up a Colorbok Summer Fun scrapbook kit that was reduced to $2.99. When I saw the words Camp written on one of the papers, I had to purchase the kit. Don't you love it when you have something in mind and things just seem to come together! Now I have papers and embellishments for scrapbooking some of those photos.

Cricut Cartridge: Nate's ABCs for all cuts
Page 50-- Tent cut at 2.75". I use Font 2 image on shift (looks like a cloud, but it is my sentiment mat) cut at 2.50".
The word Explore is the Phrase feature and the regular and shift cuts are cut 1.25".
Wow! One cartridge and one page! I am really enjoying this cartridge and all the features. Oh! Did you see the little hat and dog on the phrase! Such a cute cut!
Papers: I used Recollections Metallic Shimmer gray paper for the kids to give the appearance of their shadows inside the tent. Paper for the word Explore was in the kit. Rest of papers are from my scrap stack.
I pop-dotted the sentiment mat to hold the front in place and used lots of inking!

Now it is your turn to make a Summer project and play with us at Paper Playtime. We are happy to have our design team member Pam sponsoring this week. Check out these goodies and get those projects entered in this fun challenge.
