Lace Poinsettia Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

During the recent Black Friday sale at Cricut, I treated myself to three of the newer Anna Griffin cartridges. I love her work! I was so happy when the cartridges arrived. Love the Christmas Cards!

Using the Anna's Christmas Cards cartridge and the Make It Now feature on Cricut Design Space, the card I am sharing is the first one I made. Gold foil paper for the background is from The Paper Studio Christmas Traditions 2011. Had that a long time!! Other papers are from my scrap stash! Card measures approximately 5 1/2" x 4" when folded. I added my extra touches with the red crinkle bow and red and gold Stickles on the leaves and flowers.

Inside of card.

Cricut Christmas Kitsch is used for the Merry Christmas sentiment. I cut it 3.50" wide.

Card and Envelope!

I like the way this turned out! Hope you enjoy it!

Santa

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Twas a few days before Christmas and I am still playing with the Cricut! This card is cut using a stripe paper from Craft Smith Olde Time Christmas paper pad. While shopping recently I saw this pretty paper pad and just had to buy it. It has a linen look to the paper. Guess I have a weakness for papers! Maybe Santa will bring more papers!

Cricut Cartridge:
Christmas Kitsch - Santa Card is cut 19.16 wide x 7" high. This size includes an envelope. When folded the card will measure 5 1/2" high x 4 1/4" wide. I added a Gelly roll pen doodling on the hat.

 Inside the card!

For the inside of the card, I cut a piece of the designer paper to line up with the front of the card.
The pretty stamp is from Cardz TV Home for Christmas which I won recently at CardZ TV. I think the stamp added the finishing touch. I used handcut mats--red larger mat is cut 3.25" x 2.25" and white mat is cut 3" x 2". In placing the sentiment mat, the mat should not be showing when the card is folded.

Outside of card.

Hope you enjoy the jolly Santa card! I made a similar card last Christmas. You can view it here.

Ornament Glass Block

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I purchased a few glass blocks last year to make Christmas gifts but I never had time to make one. Where did this year go! With Christmas Day fast approaching, I gathered the supplies and got busy! Glass block and lights were bought at Hobby Lobby. Ribbon and vellum were in my stash.

Cricut Cartridges:
Celebrate with Flourish - Ornament is cut 1.99" wide x 3" high using some solid papers that were in my scrap stash.
Christmas - Happy Christmas is cut 3" wide x 1.41" high.

Because I have only limited colors of vinyl, I chose to add the Cricut images to a piece of vellum which was then attached to the glass block with Memory Book glue dots. Vellum can be removed and the glass block can be decorated for other occasions. I like the looks of this without the strand of lights showing through. Also, it is pretty just sitting on a table when the lights are not being used.

All Spruced Up

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I enjoy making Christmas cards! Can you tell! It seems that I need to start earlier in the year with Christmas card making than waiting until December. Here is another card using a Cricut cut that I have not used before. Finished card measures 5" x 6 1/2" cream card stock. Patterned papers are K&Company.

Cricut Cartridges:
Holiday Cards 28- Christmas Tree Cute Card is cut 7.85" wide x 5.5" high from Recollections red cardstock. I hand cut the inside layer from a K&Company patterned paper. Hand cut areas of solid paper were also used for the backing of the stars and the white areas. After looking at the finished card, I decided I wanted a larger card. Yes I did! I cut the front off the card and layered it on a 5" x 6 1/2" cream card. This gave me more space to fill with more pretty papers! I frayed a piece of green dot paper for the bottom layer of the card.
Winter Frolic - All Spruced Up is cut 3" wide.

Martha Stewart Swirling Lace edge punch is used on the green tree patterned paper. I added pearls and a cream crinkle ribbon bow for the finishing touch! I am pleased with the finished card even if it did take extra steps to achieve!

Cricut Kitsch Snowman

Welcome to Glenda's Cards

I am back with another Christmas card! Playing along with a few challenges, the front of the card is mostly white. The card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". White Colorbok cardstock is used. I have problems with taking a photograph of a white card. Not sure if the camera/operator did well with this one.

Cricut Cartridges:
Christmas Kitsch - Snowman Simple Cut is cut at 2.88" wide 4.50" high. For the layer, I used a scrap of light blue patterned paper from Recollections Happy Holidays. I added a little inking on the snowman. Snowman is pop dotted on the card.
Cuttlebug - Sledding folder is used on the base mat of the card.

Inside of the card!

For the inside, I added a bit of color with the patterned paper from Happy Holidays paper pad. Merry Christmas which is also found on Christmas Kitsch cartridge is cut 3.75" wide. Love the font!
A simple card but I think it turned out nicely.

Decorating with the Greens

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

December has arrived and I have been working on a few Christmas cards! Card is 5" x 6 1/2"white card stock. Patterned background paper is from K&Company EB Visions of Christmas paper pad. These papers are so pretty and sometimes I hate to cut pretty papers. I chose this paper to give a night time look for the card. Solid papers are from my scrap stash. Gold papers are a shiny paper.

Cricut Cartridges:
Christmas/Noel - This is one of my favorite Christmas cartridges! There are so many pretty images.
The main focus is the door. It is cut 4.5" high. Wreath on door is cut 1.50" wide. To accent the door, I added two of the village lampposts which are cut 2.5" high. Using the same wreath image as on the door, I cut two wreaths at 1.02" wide x 1.00" high to hang on the lampposts. Star is cut 1.75" high. When thinking of Christmas, I am always reminded of the Beautiful Star of Bethlehem!
Jolly Holidays - Merry Christmas is cut 3.50" wide.

 Inside of Card

Inside the card is layered with a pretty scrap paper from Martha Stewart Holidays paper pad. The Holly Card image is also from Christmas cartridge. It is cut 4.50" wide. For the perfect finishing touch, I used one of the pretty stamps from Cardz TV "Home for the Christmas" set. I was so happy to have recently been drawn winner for her stamps! Thank you so much Mary!

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 171 Christmas Spirit

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today begins a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts which will be our last challenge for this year! Challenge 171 is Christmas Spirit. Our design team sister Sandy asked us to create old fashion/vintage Christmas cards or projects.

My card is 5" x 6 1/2" cream cardstock. Patterned papers are from the Paper Studio Yuletide Joy paper pack. Solid papers are from the scrap stash.

Cricut Cartridges:
Santa's Village - Santa in chair is cut 3.5" wide. This is a print and cut image. I never bought a Cricut Imagine machine, but I love the vintage look images on this cartridge. So glad it is available in Cricut Design Space subscription.
Create a Friend - The word Santa's is taken from the phrase Santa's Workshop and cut at 2.25" wide. I added a text box and used letters from Cricut Font and Basic Shape for the word List - cut 1.75" wide.
Christmas Kitsch - ho ho ho are taken from the Ho Ho Ho card and cut 3" wide. This gives the three layers of colors. Merry Christmas is cut 4.50" wide. This sentiment is used on inside of the card.
Inside of card.

A green crinkle ribbon bow from Little Scrap Pieces adds the finishing touch!

Double Twisted Easel Thanksgiving Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Brrr! It is cold in my area this morning! I am not ready for cold weather but maybe I will have more time to play with my Cricut. With Thankgiving Day almost here, I decided to make one more card. This is my play with the Double Twisted Easel card style. If you have not tried one of these cards, you can find the tutorial at Split Coast Stampers. The card starts with a 8" square of Kraft cardstock.
When folded the card will easily fit in a business sized envelope. I think it will be a pretty display for Thanksgiving. Patterned papers are K&Company. Solid papers are from scrap stash.

Cricut Cartridges:
Thanksgiving Table Decor- Cornucopia/mat is cut 3.50" wide. I cut a duplicate mat for the pilgrim hat. Mats are pop-dotted on card.
Autumn Celebrations - Pilgrim Hat is cut 2.75" wide.
Classroom Oct-Nov - Happy Thanksgiving is cut 4.25" wide. It is placed on hand cut mats and pop-dotted on the card. Gelly roll pen used on the turkey for a little detail.

Cuttlebug folder Swiss Dots is used on the hat and Houndstooth is used on the cornucopia. A few extra leaves are randomly placed on the base of card.

Thankful Heart - Iris Folding Leaf

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am sharing another Thanksgiving card. Just thought I had completed all my Thanksgiving cards! Since I love the Fall colors and the holiday, I just had to play with more pretty papers.
Card is 5" x 6 1/2" cream cardstock layered with a brown patterned paper from K&Company paper pad. I have not played with the Iris Folding technique in several years, so I wanted to try making a Iris folding leaf shape for my card. I used a free template found on Circle of Crafters.

Cricut Cartridges:
3D Floral Home Decor -  Using Cricut Design Space, I inserted a basic shape square and resized that to make a 4.75" wide x 6.26" high rectangle. This would be the foundation for the top layer of my card. Using Slice feature, the leaf was cut 4.42" wide x 3.88" high which made the opening in the Kraft paper. Then the fun began choosing papers and creating the Iris Folding leaf.
Thanksgiving -Thankful Heart is cut 3.50" wide.
Wild Card - Happy Thanksgiving is cut 4.25" wide. This is used inside the card.

Inside of Card!
For the finishing touch, I added a bow made with crinkle ribbon that I recently received from Karen at Little Scraps Pieces. I am really pleased with the results of the card! The Iris Folding technique uses strips of paper making this a good way to use some of my pretty scrap papers.

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 170 Thanksgiving

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
Happy Saturday everyone! Yay! Weekend!
It is time for another fun and inspirational challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Our design team sister Kristi has chosen Ch. 170 Thanksgiving. She asks that we make any type of Thanksgiving project.

Recently I was the random drawn winner at FCCB. The prize was a gift certificate from SVG Attic. That was my first time to select SVG files. I am so happy with the files that I chose. Thank you again SVG Attic for your sponsorship. One of the collections that I chose was SDS Pilgrims Prayer. Today I am sharing the pilgrim hat from that collection. I am pleased with the way this project turned out.

I chose to add some flowers from the Cricut Cartridge Flower Shoppe. I cut 4 varying sizes, 4", 2", 1.5" and 1". I also used some Cricut leaves that were left over from a previous project. Ribbon bow and twine are from my stash. Patterned papers are from scrap stash.

Please visit My Sheri Crafts to see all the pretty cards/projects made by the design team and our guest designer. For more information, please visit the individual blogs. Now it is your turn to play along with us with your Thanksgiving project.

Give Thanks/Thanksgiving

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am sharing another Thanks/Thanksgiving card today! I love the floral patterned paper and had to create a card with it. I am playing along with the pretty sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches and other favorite challenges. All the patterned papers are K&Company. Guess you can tell by now that is one of my favorite papers! Card is 5" x 6 1/2" cream cardstock.

Cricut Cartridges:
Thanksgiving Table Decor - Give Thanks is cut 5" wide.
Anna's Garden Cards and Embellishments - Mum flower is cut 1.75" wide. I think this flower accents the patterned paper!
Wild Card - Happy Thanksgiving is cut 5" wide. This is used inside the card.
I added two shades of brown buttons and one burgundy button to accent the colors of the papers. The finishing crinkle ribbon bow is from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces. Thanks for my recent win of the pretty ribbons.

A Christmas Candle

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

With the holidays fast approaching, my thoughts have turned to making Christmas cards. This card is 5" x 6 1/2" cream card stock. The pretty patterned papers are K&Company Glad Tidings paper pad. These papers are so pretty that I really did not want to cut it, but I am pleased with the results.

Cricut Cartridges:
Joys of the Season - Candle image is cut 3.25" high. It is embossed with the Cuttlebug Textile folder and pop dotted on the burlap. The pine cone is cut 2" wide.
Cindy Loo - Peace is cut 2" wide.
Winter Wonderland - Merry Christmas is cut 5.5" wide. This is used inside the card.

I added a strip of lace burlap and some pearls to the card. Edges of paper are slightly frayed.

Autumn Pumpkin

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away. Where did this year go? I have been playing with the Cricut Explore for another Thanksgiving card. There are so many neat features on the machine that I have been wanting to try. This card uses the slice/weld features which is one of those new techniques for me. Card is 5" x 6 1/2" cream cardstock. I used papers from a K&Company pad.

Cricut Cartridges:
Pumpkin Carvings - Pumpkin 49 is cut 3.5" high. After adding a basic circle shape on the pumpkin to the size that looked ok, I used the slice feature. This cut the circle out of the pumpkin. I added a black out of the original pumpkin from the brown paper.
Wildcard - The word Autumn was sized to fit inside the open area yet touching in a couple of places so it could be welded to the pumpkin.
Thanksgiving - Harvest Blessings was cut 4.22" wide x 1.62" high. I used only the word Blessings for this project.
Classroom Oct-Nov - Happy Thanksgiving is cut 4.50" wide. This is used inside the card.

For more interest to the pumpkin, I added Gelly Roll pen doodles and a pretty crinkle ribbon bow from Little Scrap Pieces which I won recently. Thank you so much Karen for the pretty ribbons! Turkey is pop-dotted on a piece of burlap.

Martha Stewart Swirling Lace edge punch is used on the brown paper.

Holiday Cakes - Happy Thanksgiving is cut 4" wide.
Gypsy Wanderings - Pumpkin Border. I did not record actual size- just cut it a bit smaller that the 6 1/2" width of card. This is used inside the card.

Cricut Pumpkin Pie Box

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Inspired by a couple of challenges for a pumpkin project, I searched in Cricut Design Space for a pumpkin image that I had not cut previously. I chose to go with the pumpkin pie box. Rather than solid colors, I used some pretty patterned papers from K&Company. The pumpkin print is an embossed double-sided paper. The pumpkin is cut from the reverse side of the paper.

Cricut Cartridges:
Thanksgiving Table Decor - Pie box is cut 6" wide. The pumpkin image is included. The pumpkin image has no leaf or vine. I edited a couple of images from the following cartridges to make those cuts.
Doodlecharms - Curly vine on pumpkin is cut 1" wide.
Simply Charmed - Leaf is cut .75" wide.
Holiday through the Years Iron On - In Everything Give Thanks is cut 4.25" wide. In Everything is used on one side of the box while Give Thanks is used on opposite side of box.

I added a little twine bow and some Gelly Roll pen doodling on the pumpkin. This makes a cute little treat box -- I will add some candy before giving to the recipient.

Opposite side of box!

Batty for Candy

 Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am playing along with a few challenges. Card and images are cut using my Cricut Explore and Cricut Design Space. Stripe patterned paper is K&Company Tim Coffey Halloween and Fall 12 x 12 paper pad. I purchased this paper pad several years ago. Solid papers are from the scrap stash.

Cartridges:
Creative Holiday Cards - Scallop Candy Corn Bat card is cut 5.50" wide. Candy corn bat is part of the card's image. Wonder where he found that purple candy corn!
Note: The scallop envelope image is shown with the bat card in the image view, but it does not load with the images to cut in Design Space. After locating the envelope image on the cartridge, I cut it at 9.84" wide x 6.83" high. This size works well for the card.
Create a Critter 2 - Happy Halloween is cut 3" wide.
Teresa Collins Chic and Scary - Spiderweb is cut 1.50" wide.
Bat is cut 2.50" wide -this is used inside the card.

 Inside card.

A Frightful Affair - Using the add text feature, I cut Batty For at 1.77" wide, 1.64" high.

 Card with Envelope

Holiday Cakes - Bat used on the envelope is cut 2.50" wide. I used the bat image for the envelope closure by adding two pop dots.

I added a little doodling with the Gelly Roll pen on the bats and the words. I did not add doodling on the envelope bat. I may do that before the card is handed out. Or Maybe Not!!

Creepy Critters: Spider Party favor is cut 3.25" wide 10.28" high. It is folded and a Tootsie Roll Pop is placed inside it. I also cut more party favors-Jack O' Lantern at 3.25" wide, Frankenstein at 3.75" wide and the Bat at 4.35" wide. Cute and not so scary treat boxes!

Monster Bash- Using Cut It Now feature on Cricut Design Space, I cut the Spider Web Favor box. It measures about 2 1/2" and includes the lid. I turned the box on its side to take the photos. Cute for a decorating idea also.

Happy Birthday

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Always needing birthday cards, I was inspired by the popcorn box challenge at Die Cuttin Divas to incorporate a popcorn box in my project. Tickets or money to buy movie tickets and popcorn seems like a good present that could be easily enclosed with the card for the birthday person.

Card is 5"x 6 1/2" cut from white cardstock. Top layer is a gray embossed paper from Craft Smith Embossed Neutrals pad. Other papers are scraps from other projects.

Cricut Cartridges:
Family Album - Red and white shaped mats are cut 6" wide. Phrase Movie Night is also part of the mats grouping. The border of Stars is cut 6.48" wide using yellow and a gray paper. I ungrouped these images from the rest of the scrapbook page in Cricut Design Space and cut sizes that would fit my card.
Movie Night - Pop Corn box image is cut 1.50" wide. Cinema ticket is cut 1.8" wide.
Picturesque - Swirls in the upper corner and the one under Happy birthday.
Cricut Font and Basic Shapes - Happy Birthday is cut 3" wide.

Challenge:
Die Cuttin Divas - Ch. 237 National Popcorn month -include popcorn box or inspired by a movie.

Fall/Turkey Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards

Today I am sharing another Fall card. Because I enjoy the colors of the Fall season I like to play with pretty patterned Fall papers! Papers are scrap papers from a K & Company pad. Card measures 5" x 6  1/2" from a cream Recollections paper. All images are cut using the Cricut Explore machine.

Cricut Cartridges:
Celebrate with Flourish - Turkey is cut 2.50" wide.
Cricut Font and Basic Shapes - Cream colored square is cut 3" wide.
Designer Calendar - Leaves are each cut 1" wide.
Gypsy Wanderings - Patterned paper open square is cut 3.10" wide.
Splendid Soirees - Lace doily is cut 4.75" wide.
Thanksgiving - Bountiful is cut 3" wide; Harvest Blessings is cut 5" wide--used inside card.

Wow! I used six Cricut cartridges on this one! Cricut Design Space makes it easy to find the images! Although, sometimes it is hard to choose which pretty image I do want to use!!

Cuttlebug Swiss Dots is used on the cream mat. Banner for the Bountiful phrase is hand cut.

 Inside of card!
