My Sheri's Crafts - Ch. 195 Winter

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today begins a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Design team sister Sue is hostess of  Challenge 195 - Winter. She asks that we create a project that has anything to do with Winter: Christmas, snow, hot chocolate, etc.

Some time back, I was lucky to win a SVG certificate from FCCB sponsored by The Dreaming Tree. So many pretty SVG files are available on the site and it took me awhile to choose. I chose the lovely Christmas Bendi Cards SVG bundle. As it was a Christmas selection, I am just now playing with the file. This is also my first try with a Bendi card. I love the image and how great it all went together. I used black for the Santa sleigh against the snowflake background paper that I had chosen. I used sizes as given in the instructions. I am really pleased with the results! Many thanks to FCCB and The Dreaming Tree

Decorated Christmas Plate

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

After seeing the pretty intricate images from a recently added cartridge in Cricut Design Space, I went shopping for a red charger. This one was bought at WalMart.

Cricut cartridge:
Intricate Seasonal Art - Let's Be Jolly is cut 7" wide x 6.44" high. The three layers of the image are cut from red, green, and white vinyl. The vinyl is from CraftEVinyl. Intricate is definitely the word for these images. I  was weeding for quite some time but I finally got it applied to the plate.

I like the results and will be using the plate in my Christmas decorating.

Draw + Cut Holiday Tags

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am having fun with my Cricut Explore machine and a recently added cartridge in Cricut Access. My card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and is cut from Red Recollections cardstock. Patterned papers are from The Paper Studio Yuletide Joy paper pack. I am using Mary's Sketch 10 at CARDZ TV. Although the sketch is a wonderful way to use some of those pretty scrap papers, I forced myself to cut a new sheet of paper!

Cricut Cartridge:
Draw+Cut Holiday Tags  - When I saw this pretty ornament, I knew that I would be putting it on a card. The Merry Christmas Ornament Tag is cut 2.48" wide x 3" tall. Cricut Midnight pen is used for the writing.

While cutting the ornaments, I chose to cut one layer from scrap piece of patterned paper. I tried a red pen from Pilot PreciseV5 in the pen holder on the Cricut machine. It worked great!

I added a bow made with DMC Memory Thread to each ornament. The ornaments are pop-dotted on the card for dimension.

I love the sketch and the ornament--hmm, I may have chosen the designs for my Christmas Cards this year!

She asks that we include any of the following on our card/project - Pilgrim, Indian, Cornucopia, Pumpkin, Turkey, or Pie. For my project, I made a Pull Out Card. You can find the tutorial at Mary's CARDZ TV. Base of card is a cream Recollections paper. Patterned and solid papers are left over from previous projects. This card style is fun to make and I like the finished look..also a good way to use lots of Cricut images! I was able to add 4 of the choices for the challenge on this card.

Cricut Cartridges:
Autumn Celebrations - Turkey is cut 1.75" wide.
Classroom- Oct-Nov. - Pilgrim is cut 2" wide. I believe this is my first time to cut a Cricut Pilgrim image.

Fall Pumpkin

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am sharing a Pumpkin/Fall card. It can be used for several different occasions. The card measures 5" x 6 1/2" and is cut from Recollection cardstock. White cardstock is Colorbox. The pretty patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye Simply Beautiful paper pad. I love these papers but they are very thin and difficult to cut. I had to cut the images several times to get a good cut, but with a new Cricut blade and a larger size image, the Explore worked good.

The Fall pumpkin image is Miss Kate's Cuttables SVG file that was free recently. I love this pumpkin with the layers! Using my Cricut Explore, I cut the image at 4" high. I tried at 3.50" high several times but the leaves were torn during the cut.

I am playing with Sketch 19 at Paper Play Sketches.  Be sure to visit Janis's blog for a new weekly sketch each Wednesday. The sketches are always pretty and such fun to play with.

For extra touches, I  added brads that have been in my supplies for years. The pretty brown crinkle ribbon is from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces. Thank you Karen for the pretty ribbons!

It is time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! For Challenge 193, design team sister Peachy chose Creepy-Crawly Halloween theme. She asked that we include creepy, crawly and/or flying critters.

Fall Decorated Plate

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Recently I have been playing with a few vinyl projects. I bought this pretty charger plate at Hobby Lobby and wanted to decorate it with vinyl for a Fall decorating project. Of course, I used my Cricut Explore to cut the images from vinyl.

Cricut Cartridges:
Simply Scarecrows - Happy Harvest is cut 6" wide x 4.07" high.
Thanksgiving - Pie Box - I ungrouped the image and cut only the pumpkin. It is cut at 1.75" wide x 1.60" high.
Designer's Calendar - Leaves are cut 1.50' wide, 1.25" wide and 1.00" wide.

Vinyl is from CraftEVinyl.

I am pleased with the finished project! My biggest problem was trying to get a good photo because the plate has such a glossy sheen to it!
