Mother's Day Explosion Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have another Mother's Day card to share with you. After viewing pretty explosion cards and some are called pop out explosion cards, I wanted to try making one. There are many tutorials available on the construction of this card style.

My project started with a card base cut at 4.50" x 9", when folded makes a 4.50" x 4.50" card. The pretty double-sided papers are from Anna Griffin Rose Medley pack. The paper insert is cut 8.50" x 8.50". This is the folded part that is used inside.

Cricut Cartridges:
Fantastic Flip Cards - Heart Embellishment is cut 3.285" x 3.054". I cut 2 of the cut out hearts and one of the solid hearts. Sentiment "I Love You" is written on an inserted 3.5" wide x 2.25" rectangle of the pink solid paper which is used inside the card.
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards - Happy Mother's Day is written with the Cricut Midnight pen on the scallop pink heart embellishment.
Anna's Print then Cut Library - Rose is used on the Happy Mother's Day heart.

I cut a 1.25" wide green band to wrap around the card.
Cricut Create a Critter - Word Mom. This is applied to the second heart embellishment. It is pop-dotted on the band.

Outside of card with the band.

View of inside the explosion card.

I really like the way this turned out and of course, I love the pinks and greens! Hope you enjoy!

Valentine - Pop-Up Box Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have seen pretty Pop-Up Box Cards and decided it was time for me to try this pretty card style. I followed the tutorial on Split Coast Stampers to make the box. Papers are from K&Company Valentine paper pads-- left over papers from previous projects. After making the box, it was fun time using my Cricut to cut the pretty Valentine images!

Cricut Cartridges:
Create a Critter 2 - Chocolate Box is cut 1.75" wide.
Disney Princess Dreams Come True - Double Hearts cut 1.50" wide.
Valentine's Day - Heart with the word Valentine written on banner is cut 2.75" wide. Valentine was written using the Write feature.
Feb 14 is cut 3" wide.
Heart of roses is cut 2.25" wide. I cut two of these - used one on each side flap.
Phrases - True Love Valentine is cut 2.25" wide.
Sweethearts - Love heart stamp is cut 1.75" wide.

The two Hearts of roses, True Love Valentine, and Feb 14 are pop-dotted on the card flaps. Some of the images inside the box area were attached to strips of acetate which allows them to move slightly when the card is opened.

Side views of the pop-up box card.

Folded card.

I am pleased with my first Pop-Up Box Card. Of course, it is pinks and hearts, two of my favorite things! I think this will be my Valentine Card!!
