Easter Box

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

The past week has been really busy. With all the recent heavy rains and flooding in our area, I have moved my parents in my house with me. Water should not go into their house, but the road became impassable last Saturday. Water had been rising 6 inches daily, but the last couple of days only 4 inches each day. Predictions are for the nearby river to crest on Thursday. Even with that date, it will probably still be several weeks before they can return home. Many acres of farmland are under water and lot of that land had already been planted with corn crops. Several families have moved out from the low-lying areas. My Cricut playing has been limited, but I hope to be playing more in the upcoming days.

I wanted to make a small Easter box for candy and to use as decoration. Since I have not bought any Easter candy, I am using peppermint in it now. Papers are from the pastel scrap stash. I decorated each side of the box using Cricut images. Eight cartridges were used!

Cricut Cartridges:
Cindy Loo - Basket is cut 11.50" wide.
Classroom April- May - Happy Easter is cut 2.75" wide. A piece of acetate is glued to the sentiment to hold in the box.
Create A Critter - Rabbit is cut 2.25" high.
Easter 2010 - Chick is cut 2.25" high.
Easter Magic - Blue, yellow, lavender egg is cut 2.25" high.
Plantin Schoolbook - Grass is cut 2.15" wide x .47" high
Teresa Collins - Bunnies and Chicks - bunnies and chicks border is cut 2.90" wide x .30" high
Teresa Collins - Easter Basket - Yellow and lavender egg is cut 1.78" wide x 2.75" high.

Pink twine from Diana at DL.ART is used for the four bows on each corner. Thank you Diana for my recent win!

Sharing pics of the different sides of the box.

I am pleased with the results of the little box! Hope you enjoy it!

Easter Cards - Part 2

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am sharing more Easter cards made for children. Cards are white cardstock. Green card measures 4" x 5 1/2" and the yellow card is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2". Polka dot papers are from DCWV Fresh Floral Stack. I was able to get several cards with one sheet of patterned paper.

Cricut Cartridges:
Create A Critter 2 - Egg Hunt, chick in egg, grass
Easter Magic - Eggs
The following card was made for a teenager.
 Cricut cartridges:
Easter 2010 - Rabbits and grass
Cricut Font and Basic Shape - Thought bubble. I used the Explore pen writing feature for the word huh.

Inside of all cards, I used Cricut Create a Critter2 for the words Happy Easter. I failed to take a photo.

Simple cards, but I had fun making them!

Patchwork Easter Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards

I am playing along with the fun sketch challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. I decided to make an Easter card so I can play along with a few more fun challenges!
The card is 5" x 5" white cardstock and layered with a 4 3/4" square of lavender paper. The nine little squares are cut at 1 1/2". Easter papers are from a friend and other papers are left over from previous projects. This is a good sketch for using small pieces of paper. The fun is laying out the patchwork design! The ribbon is interwoven on the squares for a bit more color and design.

Cricut Cartridge:
Easter 2010 - Egg and shadow are cut at 2 1/2".

Other supplies:
Easter dimensional sticker is from a Walmart pack of handmade stickers. This has been in my stash for a year-maybe two. I thought the sticker would work well with the different colors in my card.
Ribbon is American Crafts - another after Easter clearance!
Paper Studio pearls
Egg is pop-dotted. Versa Magic inking.

Challenges:
Die Cuttin' Divas - Ch. 59 Sketch
Cooking With Cricut - Ch. 80 Easter theme
FCCB - Ch. 105 Egg
My Craft Spot - Ch 50 Easter
Simply Create Too - Ch 10 - Eggs &/or Bunnies ends 4/12

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 81 Easter - Spring's Gorgeous Pastels

Welcome to Glenda's Cards! Thank you for stopping by today!

It is time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Before I tell you about the challenge, I want to welcome Raquel back to the Design Team. You have seen her lovely creations as a past member of the design team but she had to step down for awhile. You may know her as RAQ from Cricut MessageBoard weekly RAQ Challenges. We are so happy Raquel is back and sharing her talent with us!

Now to our challenge this week--Challenge 81 is Easter -Create a card/project using Spring's gorgeous pastels! I decided to try a Shadow Box Card which is another card style marked off my "To Do" list. You can find a great tutorial at Split Coast Stampers for this card style. Just click the link I provided and it will take you to the tutorial.

The double-sided designer patterned papers are from K&Company Watercolor Bouquet. I just love the pretty pinks, greens, and yellows! I started with 2 different patterned papers that were cut at 6 1/2" x 5", rather than the smaller size as stated in the tutorial. Short ends of the papers are scored at 1/2" and 1". After folding, the ends are secured with red Tacky Tape.
For the oval opening in the paper, I used the Creative Memories Oval set.

Cricut Cartridges:  Using Cricut Craft Room.
Easter 2010 - Egg and shadow are cut 3". Happy Easter and shadow are cut at 1".
Other supplies:
Egg is pop-dotted. Flower is Recollections Mulberry Paper Flowers. Ribbon and pearls from my stash.

Be sure to visit My Sheri Crafts and see all the gorgeous colors of Spring projects that the Design Team and Guest Designer have created for you. For more details on the projects, please visit each blog and leave a little love! We enjoy reading your comments! Now we look forward to seeing your lovely projects!
Remember to follow the challenge! One lucky person will be chosen to be our next guest designer and several Ooh La La awards are presented.

Hope you enjoy this card and maybe are inspired to try this card style if you have not done so. I know that I will be making more Shadow Box cards!

Easter Basket

This is my first try using the cute basket on Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge. I used a 12 x 12 inch piece of yellow cardstock and set my Expression on Fit to Page. The top edge of the basket measures 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 and the height is 3 1/4. Nice size little basket!
Cricut cartridges:
Create A Critter - Rabbit on page 26 cut 3 1/2 inches. Rabbit is on an Action Wobble. It is so cute when it wobbles! Flowers on page 66 cut 1 3/4 inches.
Easter 2010 - Basket and Egg. Egg is cut at 3 inches.
Plantin Schoolbook - Grass on page 69, using the shift key cut 3/4 inches.
Papers are Colorbok Textured Cardstock, lots of inking, and pearl on the egg is from stash.

Challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut - Colors pink, green and yellow
My Sheri Crafts - Bunnies
Bitten by the Bug 2 - Easter 2010 Egg

Hope you enjoy my project!

Present for a Red Hatter

Having time to post on my blog today, I will be adding more cards that were made for my Red Hat Ladies!

Needing a birthday card for a Red Hat friend, I used one of the sketches from RAQ's Card Challenge week 08/25-08/31.
Paper is scraps except for the purple card base cut 4 1/4 X 9 1/2. This size turned out a bit too big for an envelope but I hand deliver my Red Hat cards. Red Hat paper is an embossed vellum from K & Company.

Cricut cartridges:
Stretch Your Imagination - present cut 4 inches
Easter 2010 - sentiment circle cut 2 1/4 inches

Cuttlebug Folders:
Swiss Dots - White background
Happy Birthday - Present
Birthday (4 pack set) - Celebrate used on the sentiment circle.

Paper:  Red Hat Society from K&Company, Paper Studio
