My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 175 Bold Color

It is time again for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts. Ch. 175 is Bold Color. Our design team sister Sue asked us to use bold color. Needing some treat boxes for Red Hat Ladies, I chose to use Red and Purple.

Cricut Cartridges:
Victorian Romance - Valentine Heart Cone Box is cut 8.25" wide.
Sweethearts - Cupid tag is cut 2.75" high.

I added red crinkle ribbon from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces. I think my friends will enjoy these!

Day 13 - Valentines Cone Boxes

I have been playing with more pretty K&Company double-sided Valentine papers. I enjoy working on Valentine's Day cards and projects!

Cricut cartridges:
Victorian Romance - Cone box is cut 8.25"h.
Sweethearts - Love heart tag is cut 2.5"h.

The cone boxes and heart layers are quickly cut with the Cricut Explore.The machine also cuts out the intricate cuts very well! The score marks for folding are not easily seen on patterned paper, but I managed the fold.

I made several of the cone boxes which will be used for treat boxes. I added candy inside each box and some of the boxes have pencils added too. I decided not to add the little love tag on all the boxes. Some boxes are for adults and some are for children.

Day 7 - Valentine's Cards

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have been working on more Valentine's Day cards. I know you may look at this card and think what!! My younger grandsons are into sports! One ball season ends and they will be busy with another ball season. Both guys really love baseball so I chose a baseball theme for their cards this year. They look for money inside the card anyway!

Cards measures 5.5" x 4.25" cut from blue and yellow cardstock. I was trying to use school colors for the cards.

Cricut cartridge:

All Sports - Play Ball is cut 4.5" width. Strike with bat image is cut 5." width.

A Valentine- Victorian Romance

Today I am sharing my first Valentine card for 2013. That day will soon be here! 

Inspired by the fun sketch at Die Cuttin Divas, I wanted to play along with their first challenge of the new year! The white cardstock card measures 5" x 6 1/2". Papers are scraps from K&Company Kelly Panacci Valentine paper pad. I love this paper! In fact, I found the same paper pad during another visit at Michael's last year and just had to buy it! Now I have another full pack!

Cricut Cartridge is Victorian Romance.

The heart with the couple silhouette is the 6th image on the first row and is cut from white cardstock. The blackout image is the 6th image on the second row and cut from a light pink paper. Both cuts are 3.5".

The small heart and heart layer are cut 1". These are the third images on row 3 and row 4. The words on the heart paper are from the poem How do I love thee.

Other supplies include lace and pearls from my stash. The lace is used for one of the elements of the sketch rather than paper. Inking is Dew Drop Versa Magic Gingerbread.

BBTB2 - Fly Away

It is Monday again and time for another fun and inspirational challenge at BBTB2! Our talented design team sister Jeri is the hostess this week and she chose the challenge Fly Away. We are asked to use a hot air balloon or if you do not have a cartridge with one, you can use an airplane!

I did an image search in the Cricut Craft Room and quickly discovered that I had only one cartridge with a hot air balloon. That is Victorian Romance cartridge. I know the cartridge is more of a Valentine theme, but I choose to make a "love you" or anniversary card.

Card is 5" x 6 1/2" cut from Bazzill Ruby Slipper. Musical paper is from Hobby Lobby. Do you remember the song Up, Up, and Away in my beautiful balloon. Well, I have been singing the song while making the card (and each time I look at the card), so I thought the musical background would work well! Now are you singing it too!

Cricut Cartridges:

Victorian Romance - Hot air balloon is cut 3.75".

Sweethearts - Page 35 Couple is cut 1.375". I chose to cut the image in black for a silhouette effect.

Elegant Edges - Page 41 Oblong feature for the white and red mats...needed more hearts! I used the cut out white hearts for the card corners.

Plantin Schoolbook- Letters for Up Up & Away cut .75 from white and red paper using the main and shift images.

Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots

Other supplies include 3Girl Jam ribbon, pop-dots on the mats, red rhinestones in the corner, and red inking.

BBTB2 - Rose Challenge

Thanks for stopping by today! It is time for another fun and inspirational Cricut challenge at BBTB2!

I am so excited to be hosting my first challenge! Did you know June is National Rose Month in the United States? In honor of the Rose, our challenge is to create a card, layout, or 3-D project with a Cricut rose.

The rose can be from any Cricut cartridge.

I chose to do a 3-D project for this challenge using the Cricut Giant Flowers Cartridge. The rose image is on page 12. Using Cricut Craft Room, I cut the rose images at 3.50" from red Recollections cardstock. The rose requires a lot of cutting, but at 3.50" size, I was able to get all the cuts on one sheet of red cardstock. Directions for layering all the pieces are found in the handbook on pages 24-26. The green leaves are cut from a scrap piece of green cardstock. This is my first time to play with this cartridge. I must admit my first rose did not go together too easily because I could not see clearly the 15 little cut dashes that the petals went in to. After cutting the images again, I used three different colors of markers to mark a tiny spot at the location of the three different sizes of rose petals. That worked much better for me!

Guess you notice that I have a Red Hat Lady color theme going on! The gathered red lace rosette was in my goodie stash that I have had for quite some time. I added purple bows. A dowel rod was wrapped with green floral tape and inserted through the center of the rose and placed in the vase. For a little more Red Hat Lady flair, I wrapped a bracelet around the base of the vase.

For an additional display, I made a purple nosegay holder using the Cricut Victorian Romance Cartridge cone image. This image was cut at 8.50".  I decorated the cone with ribbon, lace, pearls, red rhinestones, feather, a little red hat, and a tassel that were all in my stash. Red braiding was used to make the handle. Now I have a pretty hanging holder to show off my pretty Red Rose! I am sharing a photo of the red crochet doily that my Mom made for me! I love it!

Large Valentine Card

Hope you are having a great day! I have been busy with Valentine's cards but have not completed all I want to do. Is anyone else running late with cards!

I recently received a beautiful card from a card exchange. It is a large size card and covered with so many beautiful details! Thank you so much Beckie and thanks for inspiring me to try a large card!!

This Valentine card is made from a 8 1/2" x 11" red Recollections cardstock and scored in half to make a 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" card. White layer is 8 1/4" x 5 1/4". Zebra print paper is 8" x 5". I am playing along with the sketch challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas this week.

Cricut Cartridges:

Victorian Romance - I just received this cartrige and I am loving the pretty images! I was using the Cricut Craft Room and the heart is cut at 4.5". Love is cut at 3.0"w x 1.694"h. I adjusted the size until I was pleased with it. Good thing about the CCR!

Elegant Edges - White mat is the Shadow feature on page 39. Sorry, I did not record the size but it measures 6 1/2"h. I cut the image in half to use on the card so I have an extra mat for later use.

Cuttlebug: Polka Dots folder on the white mat.

Martha Stewart Lace Hearts edge punch was used on the red paper. I added the cut out tiny red hearts on the white mat to add a bit of color.

The flower ribbon brad is from Spare Parts. I thought that was so cute so I just had to buy the package and then discovered the package was on sale!!
