My Sheri Crafts - Ch.186 Just a Chillin'

Welcome to Glenda's Cards

It is time again for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! It is my time to choose the theme. We have been having hot weather in my area for the last few weeks, even worse, the humidity is so high.
For Ch. 186 - Just a Chillin', I asked the team to do a project with ice cream. I thought an ice cream challenge would be cool and refreshing! Also, July is National Ice Cream Month, but I think ice cream is good in any month!

I am always needing birthday cards and the ice cream theme will work good. My card measures 6 1/2 x 5" white card stock. Patterned papers are Pressed Petals Assorted Cardstock with Glitter paper pack. Solid papers are from my scrap stash.

Cricut Cartridges:
Sweet Treats - Ice Cream delight is cut 4" high.
Thoughts and Phrases - Good Times -- Happy birthday balloon is cut 2.10" high.
DMC Memory Thread is attached to the balloon to act as a string.. I also made a bow from the same thread.
Anna's Lace Cards and Embellishments - Sentiment Loving Thoughts is attached to an inserted 4.50"  x 2.25" rectangle. This is used inside the card. Cricut Midnight pen is used for the writing.

Inside of the card.

It is time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts. Ch. 161 is Child's Birthday. Design team sister Sue asked us to create a child's birthday card for child under 13 years old. Birthday Bash - Bird Banner is cut 5" wide. Birthday cake is cut 3" high and pop-dotted on the card.
Sweet Treats - make a wish is cut 2.6" wide.

Cuttlebug folder is Kassies Brocade.

A simple card, but I think it turned out ok!

I am playing along with the sketch at Die Cut Diva's this week. The card is 5" x 6 1/2" cut from purple cardstock. It is layered with a gingham check paper cut at 4 3/4' x 6 1/4". Red cardstock measures 4 1/2" x 4 3/4" and is layered with a white cardstock measuring 4 1/4" x 4 1/2". The red dot strip is layered over a purple strip. I was happy to find this new paper. Berry Sweet Ice Cream Cone

This is only my second time using the Cricut Sweet Treats cartridge. I wanted to try the card feature and I chose the ice cream cone on page 34. It is cut at 7 inches using a buff color cardstock. All my papers are from my scrap paper stash. I used several Cuttlebug folders for added dimension. The Houndstooth folder is used on the lower part of the cone and Divine Swirls on the pink and chocolate layers. For the strawberry, I used Swiss dots and lightly inked the dots with green.
I cut the Layers feature using brown paper and again using green paper. Then I trimmed off top piece of the brown so I could have green color for the strawberry leaf. To sparkle things up a bit, I applied Stickles Lime Green on the leaf and Stickles Frosted Lace on the chocolate for the appearance of white chocolate dripping over it!! Yummy!!
For the sentiment, I used the word feature on page 47 on Simply Charmed. Berry Sweet is cut 1" on regular and shift  key.
Hope you enjoy!

Challenges:
Paper Cutz - #99 Ice cream cone, popsicle, ice cream sundae or milk shake
Tacky Tuesday's Challenge 8 -  Cool treat and word sweet

Happy Birthday

Hi and thanks for stopping by today. I would also like to say thank you to my new followers!
This week at Cooking With Cricut, the challenge is all about Birthdays. Also a bonus challenge is to use one of the two lovely sketches provided by Melin. Needing a birthday card for today, I am using the card sketch.
The white card base is 6 1/2x5. The background paper is cut 6 1/4x 4 3/4. My papers are Martha Stewart playful pink double-sided pad that I have had for quite some time. Using Cricut Lacy Labels, I cut the labels at 4 1/2 inches and used the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls on the patterned paper. The white mat is embossed with the Happy Birthday folder. For the cake, I used Cricut Sweet Treats cartridge page 40. It is cut 3 inches. This week's sponsor for the challenge is Peachy Keen Stamps. I wanted to give my cake a cute little smile. I used one of the Snow Cuties 1 1/8 for the face. I won these stamps recently and I enjoy using them! I would love to have more of the stamps!
Lots on Martha Stewart ink and pop-dots for the cake.

For the inside of my card,  I cut Happy Birthday also from Sweet Treats. It is on page 56 and is cut at 2 inches. I added two different strips of the paper for a little more contrast.
Hope you enjoy my card!
