Pretty Pastels

Now I have added all my cards that were made for participation in Jitterbuggin' Challenges!

Jitterbuggin'  Sketch 9 Pretty Pastels July 15, 2010
Challenge: Follow the sketch, use pastel colors, add a cricut sentiment and at least one button.
I chose to try an inspirational card and use the dahlia fold flower.

Storybook- the white accent background

Cuttlebug - Swiss Dots
Martha Stewart - Daisy dot and the Pop-up butterfly. Got carried away with Martha Stewart punches!
Paper - Martha Stewart double-sided playful pink paper pad.
Button from stash and I added a few pearls.

Using the Dahlia Fold flower technique, I made a couple of "Thank You" cards. If you have not tried making this flower, a great tutorial is available on SplitCoastStampers. I enjoy making the flower and like the results.

Using Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, I cut 9 circles at 1 1/4 inch each - using 8 to make the flower and 1 for flower base. The result is a 2 1/2 inch flower.

Cricut Cartridges:

Plantin Schoolbook -- circles

Lovely Floral - doily - cut at 3 3/4 inches

Wild Card - sentiment inside "Thoughtful" cut at 8 inches

Storybook - background for the sentiment cut 8 inches

Cuttlebug folders - Swiss Dots, Polka Dots

Martha Stewart - Doily lace trim punch, Corner punch (trimmed the corner and placed on card) and inks

Gemstones- Recollections

Paper - K&Company Double sided. For the two cards, I used the same paper on the flower and the MS doily edge trim, but by using the reverse side on one of the cards, I have two different looks. I love this paper and use it often.

Dahlia Fold Flower

I enjoy making the Dahlia Fold flower and thought I would share a card made recently.

After watching a great tutorial on SplitCoastStampers  for the Dahlia Fold flower, I was excited to try this technique. Used K&Company Life's Journey double-sided paper and Miss Elizabeth's vellum from my stash.
Storybook cartridge - scallop background behind flower. Also I cut the circles using Storybook--circle is an accent/blackout feature, letter K. I cut each circle at 1 1/4 inch. (Cut 9 circles--8 for the flower and 1 for the base of flower) This makes a 2 1/2 flower.

Martha Stewart - lace heart edge punch
Cuttlebug- Two of the With Love borders.
Pearls, doily and pop-dots.

I made this card for the Be Inspired #100 Happy Birthday Cuttlebug Challenge. I enjoy making dahlia fold flowers and like to use the flowers on cards. A great tutorial can be found at SplitCoastStampers

I chose to use my new Cuttlebug folder Kassie's Brocade on the pink background. I think it is so pretty and I like the larger size folder. Cuttlebug folders include Birthday for the phrase, Celebrate; and Disney Take the Cake Cut and Emboss for the cupcake and gift bag.  Cricut cartridges are Plantin Schoolbook and Home Decor. Martha Stewart edge punch, pearls and inking!
