My Sheri's Crafts - Ch. 195 Winter

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today begins a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Design team sister Sue is hostess of  Challenge 195 - Winter. She asks that we create a project that has anything to do with Winter: Christmas, snow, hot chocolate, etc.

Some time back, I was lucky to win a SVG certificate from FCCB sponsored by The Dreaming Tree. So many pretty SVG files are available on the site and it took me awhile to choose. I chose the lovely Christmas Bendi Cards SVG bundle. As it was a Christmas selection, I am just now playing with the file. This is also my first try with a Bendi card. I love the image and how great it all went together. I used black for the Santa sleigh against the snowflake background paper that I had chosen. I used sizes as given in the instructions. I am really pleased with the results! Many thanks to FCCB and The Dreaming Tree

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

We are back with another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Ch. 191 is Christmas. Design team sister Sue asked us to make a Christmas card or project with lots of elements--at least 3 different elements. Wow, can you believe that in 3 more months it will be Christmas Eve! My card begins with a 4" x 12" piece of Recollections red cardstock. When folded the card measures 4" x 6". Other papers are from my scrap stash.

I chose to use a surprise element for this card. Browsing through blogs and YouTube, I saw the Pop Up Panel Cards and had to give it a try. Thanks Joy for the measurements and Cricut Design Space file to make this card style!

My Sheri Crafts - Ch.186 Just a Chillin'

Welcome to Glenda's Cards

It is time again for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! It is my time to choose the theme. We have been having hot weather in my area for the last few weeks, even worse, the humidity is so high.
For Ch. 186 - Just a Chillin', I asked the team to do a project with ice cream. I thought an ice cream challenge would be cool and refreshing! Also, July is National Ice Cream Month, but I think ice cream is good in any month!

I am always needing birthday cards and the ice cream theme will work good. My card measures 6 1/2 x 5" white card stock. Patterned papers are Pressed Petals Assorted Cardstock with Glitter paper pack. Solid papers are from my scrap stash.

Cricut Cartridges:
Sweet Treats - Ice Cream delight is cut 4" high.

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 183 Tags, Tags, and more Tags

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

We are back with a new fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Design team sister Raquel chose Ch. 183 Tags, Tags, and More Tags. She asked that we make a project that features a tag. I seldom make tags, but after viewing the Diagonal Double Pocket Card tutorial at Split Coast Stampers, I knew the card would be a good way to include tags!

The card starts with a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper. I used pretty double sided papers from K&Company Sweet Nectar paper pad. The tutorial that I followed does not allow for the card to be opened. However instructions are given so the card can be opened. With the enclosures for the tags, I like the way that I made the card.

Cricut Cartridges:
Lacy Labels - Thinking of you label is cut 3" wide.
Gypsy Wanderings - Cupcake tag is cut 3.75" high.
Sentimentals - Tag is cut 2.25" wide x 3.75" high. I added another layer cut at 2.34" wide x 3.86" high for a shadow cut. Using the Add Text feature, Happy Birthday was printed on the tag using the Pink Crystal Pen.
Create a Critter- Flower is cut .95" wide x .74" high. The flower is added on the Happy Birthday tag.
The two tags shapes were also cut from cream paper. I glued that paper to the back of tags so a space to write a personal message will be available.
Pearls and ribbon from my stash were used to complete the card.

 View with tags lifted.

I chose to make a card for one of my Red Hat friends. My card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" cut from Red Recollections cardstock. The Red Hat Society paper has been in my stash for awhile.

Cricut Cartridges:
Forever Young - Hat is cut 3.75" wide from the red and light purple papers. The hat is pop-dotted on the card.
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards - Sentiment Happy Birthday Friend is written with the Cricut Midnight pen. Using Insert shape, I added a square which I changed to a 4.75" x 3.35" rectangle for the sentiment to be written on. This is used inside the card.

Recollections rhinestones, a purple flower, and purple sparkly trim was added for the bling! Of course a Red Hat Lady has to have the bling!

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today begins another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts. This week, our design team sister Sue asked us to create a Thinking of You card. We all need this type of card quite often--can be sympathy, get well, thank you, etc. Thinking of you phrase must be on the card!

My card measures 5" x 6 1/2" and is white card stock. Patterned papers are DCWV Fresh Floral Stack and solid papers are from scrap stash.

Cricut Cartridges:
Spring Fling - Thinking Of You sentiment is cut 3.75" wide. Flower pitcher is cut 1.75" high. Tulips are cut 1.75" high. I really enjoy using this cartridge. It includes the pen work on the designs which adds more detail to the images. I used the Cricut Midnight Pen.

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 177 Spring Fever

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today begins the new challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Challenge 177 is Spring Fever.  As Spring quickly approaches, Design team sister Peachy asked us to make a Spring related card or project. I always love the pretty blooming flowers of Spring, so I chose to make a card with flowers.

Cricut Cartridge:
Dimensional Scenes - Pretty Posies
After viewing the Poises Dimensional Card in Cricut Design Space, I wanted to give it a try. It is cut 14" wide x 10.96" high which includes an envelope. Ten colors of paper are used which can take a little while to make the choice of papers. Referring to the example card, I used similar colors but added more pink and burgundy. Most of you know that I love working with pink! I did not add dimensional foam dots between layers..just glued them. With so many layers of colors, there is still a dimensional look.

The card measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4". Card base and envelope are cut using Keepsake Essentials- Reversible papers. The darker blue shade is used for the card and the lighter blue shade for the envelope. Other papers are from the scrap stash.

Although my card is not made using the Make It Now feature, I have noticed a card is now available in the Make It Now feature.

My project begins with a reversible paper of two pretty shades of pink from a Keepsake Essentials 12" x 12" Paper Pack. Guess I held on to it long enough!!

Cricut Cartridges:
Valentine's Day - Dear to my Heart card is cut 21.46" wide x 8.58" high. This image also includes an envelope. My folded card measures approximately 3.75" x 5.50". Just looking at the card in Cricut Design Space before it is loaded into the project page, I did not see all the pretty pen work on the heart and edges of the card. I thought Wow when the card actually loaded.
Sweetheart - Heart Petal Flowers are cut 1" wide and four at 1.25" wide. I cut these flowers from the reversed side of the paper for a little more interest.
Winter Frolic - Swirls are cut 3.50" wide without the shadow image.

Pink Crinkle Ribbon is from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces. Love this pink!
