Christmas Poinsettia

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

It has definitely been Winter in my area for the past couple of days! Our high temperature was 73 degrees a few days ago but the cold front came barreling through with sleet/freezing rain. Our temperature plunged. It has struggled to get to 32 degrees today. I really do not like cold weather and it is suppose to be about 17 tonight. So what do I do!  I stay in my craft room and play with my Cricut machine! Do you realize how soon Christmas will be here again!! I am trying to get a head start on my Christmas cards this year!
This card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and is white card stock. Papers are left over from previous projects.

Cricut Cartridge:
Celebrate with Flourish - Poinsettia is cut 2.75" wide x 1.96" high.

Cuttlebug Script Folder is used on the red mat. I added gold gemstones on the poinsettias.

A simple card, but I think it is a good start on my Christmas cards! Be sure to check the following Christmas Card challenges listed below for weekly inspiration!

Print/Cut Santa Sleigh

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Needing a couple of last minute Christmas cards, I was inspired by a couple of challenges where I will share this card. The card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and is cut from white cardstock. Patterned papers are from K&Company Susan Winget Glad Tidings. I have had this paper pad for a long time. I am using Mary's Sketch 11 from CARDZ TV.

Cricut Cartridges:
Santa's Village - Print and Cut Santa Sleigh is cut 2.75" wide x 2.10" high.
Anna's Christmas Cards and Embellishments - The sentiment Wishing You a Merry Christmas is printed with the Cricut Midnight pen on an inserted 4.75" wide x 3.25" high rectangle. This is used inside the card.

Cuttlebug Folder Snowflakes is used on the white mat behind Santa. The sentiment Ho! Ho! Ho! is from CARDZ TV Home for Christmas Stamp set. I used Dew Drop Memento Rhubard Stalk for the inking. Thank you Mary for the pretty set!

My Sheri's Crafts - Ch. 195 Winter

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today begins a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Design team sister Sue is hostess of  Challenge 195 - Winter. She asks that we create a project that has anything to do with Winter: Christmas, snow, hot chocolate, etc.

Some time back, I was lucky to win a SVG certificate from FCCB sponsored by The Dreaming Tree. So many pretty SVG files are available on the site and it took me awhile to choose. I chose the lovely Christmas Bendi Cards SVG bundle. As it was a Christmas selection, I am just now playing with the file. This is also my first try with a Bendi card. I love the image and how great it all went together. I used black for the Santa sleigh against the snowflake background paper that I had chosen. I used sizes as given in the instructions. I am really pleased with the results! Many thanks to FCCB and The Dreaming Tree

Visit My Sheri Crafts to see the pretty designs by the talented design team. For more information and details, visit our indivdual blogs.

Now it is your turn to play along with us. We look forward to seeing your pretty projects!

Winter Frolic Snowman

 Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have a cute snowman card to share today. One day I am making Thanksgiving cards and the next day, I am playing with Christmas images. These holidays are fast approaching and I am behind with my cards! This card is cut from green Recollections cardstock and measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" when folded. I used The Paper Studio Winter Wonderland paper pad for the patterned papers. Solid papers are from scrap stash! I am using the cute sketch at Paper Play Sketches.

Cricut Cartridges:
Using Insert images, I cut the background mats for the card. Snowman rectangle mat is cut 4" wide x 5 1/4" high. Red strip is cut 4" wide x 1" high. White circle is cut 2.88". Snowflakes circle is cut 2.75".
Winter Frolic - Snowman is cut 1.75" wide x 2.37" high.
Phrases - Happy Christmas is cut 3.50" wide x 1.57" high. This is used inside the card.

Draw + Cut Holiday Tags

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am having fun with my Cricut Explore machine and a recently added cartridge in Cricut Access. My card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and is cut from Red Recollections cardstock. Patterned papers are from The Paper Studio Yuletide Joy paper pack. I am using Mary's Sketch 10 at CARDZ TV. Although the sketch is a wonderful way to use some of those pretty scrap papers, I forced myself to cut a new sheet of paper!

Cricut Cartridge:
Draw+Cut Holiday Tags  - When I saw this pretty ornament, I knew that I would be putting it on a card. The Merry Christmas Ornament Tag is cut 2.48" wide x 3" tall. Cricut Midnight pen is used for the writing.

While cutting the ornaments, I chose to cut one layer from scrap piece of patterned paper. I tried a red pen from Pilot PreciseV5 in the pen holder on the Cricut machine. It worked great!

I added a bow made with DMC Memory Thread to each ornament. The ornaments are pop-dotted on the card for dimension.

I love the sketch and the ornament--hmm, I may have chosen the designs for my Christmas Cards this year!

Challenges:

Little Scrap Pieces - Saturday Linky Party
PDE Linky Party - Ch. 146 All Cards

Christmas in July

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Inspired by a few challenges, I decided to make a Christmas card! Always nice to get an early start on them! Card is cut from red Recollection cardstock and measures 5" x 5". Patterned papers are from The Paper Studio Winter Wonderland paper pad and solid paper is Craft Smith Embossed Neutrals.

Cricut Cartridges:
Santa's Village - Santa with stocking is one of the print and cut images. It is cut 3" high. I have always liked the images on this cartridge, but I never bought the Imagine machine. I am happy that the images are available in Cricut Design Space subscription.
Simply Sweet - Circle is cut 3.5".
Anna's Christmas Cards and Embellishments - Sentiment is written on an inserted square shape that was sized to 4.26" w x 2.75" rectangle. This is used inside the card.

Merry Christmas sentiment on front of card is from Mary's "Home for Christmas" stamp set at CARDZ TV.  Love these stamps! Thanks again Mary!

I added a green crinkle ribbon bow that I received from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces. For the finishing touch, I added the red rhinestones in the right upper corner.
