My First Screen Divider Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
For this card, my friend Cathy challenged me to make a Screen Divider Card. This is another new card style for me. I chose to make a Spring birthday card for a friend. I looked at tutorials and card examples on Pinterest. I followed along with the video directions by Dawn O. Papers are Colorbok white, Recollections green, and Anna Griffin patterned paper.

Rather than cutting the card and panels using a hand cutter, I added the measurements in Cricut Design Space and let my Cricut Maker do its magic!

Cricut Cartridges:
Using Insert Shapes in Cricut Design Space, I added a square and sized it to 11" wide x 5 1/2" high. It is scored at 2 3/4", 5 1/2", and 8 1/4". Fold card in center, then outer sections back on itself.
Insert Shapes for the panels - 2.25" wide x 4" high for patterned paper panel, 2.42" wide x  4.15" high for the green panels.
Lacy Labels  - Label #M3D540 - I used a portion of the larger label of the group and the slice feature to remove the lower part of the four white sections. I did not have a suitable punch so I tried it with my Cricut.

Anna's Vintage Florals - Carolina 2 -Larger group of flowers, Clusters - white and pink group.
Anna's Vintage Phrases - Happy Birthday and Fun with Friends
Anna's Planner - Rose Dot Flag cut 2.25" wide x 1.859" high
Anna's Fantastic FlipCards - Butterfly 1.15" wide x 1.162" high

Martha Stewart Swirling Lace Edge Punch used on the top of the screen divider.

I like the way this turned out. Of course, I had to use my favorite colors - pink and green. I think it will be pretty displayed on a desk or tabletop. Hope you like it and maybe you are inspired to try this different card style.

Smile

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have been busy with lots of pretty pink and coordinating papers on my projects lately. What should I do with those smaller papers that are left over! Make another card, of course. Patterned papers are from Anna Griffin. I dislike tossing an inch of those pretty papers! This is the results! White card is 5" x 6 1/2".

To add more dimension, I pulled out my Cuttlebug and folders.
Cuttlebug Folders: Madison - Pink background mat, Geometric Circles on the green strip, and Polka Dots on the narrow pink strip.

Cricut Cartridges:
Anna's Vintage Phrases - Smile is a Print and Cut image. Size is 2.50"
Anna's Window Box Cards - Scroll Embellishment is cut 2.301" wide x 3.11" high.
Anna's Fantastic Flip Cards - Roses--Print and Cut image. Size 2.5" wide x 3.35" high.

Inside card:
Cricut Anna's Bridal & Baby Soirees - White with pink mat is cut 4.50" wide x 6.00" high.
Cricut Anna's Fantastic Flip Cards - Congratulations to you is written with the Cricut Pink Crystal Pen.

Pop dots are used on the flower and sentiment.

 Inside of card!

I love how this card turned out. It is a surprise card on a great accomplishment for a dear friend!

Thank you for your visits and comments.

Pink Center Step Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am back with another pink card! Can you tell I like pink! This card style is called a Center Step Card. With my last HSN purchase of Anna Griffin Window Box Card Cartridge, I did not sign up for the autoship for the two upcoming cartridges including a Window Frame Card Cartridge. The card base is similar to this center step card. I am happy to see the cartridge will be offered in September!

There are many available tutorials on making the center step card base. One that I have used before is found on SplitCoastStampers. Well, I tried to make one using Cricut Design Space and I am pleased with the results.

Papers are Cricut Green cardstock, Anna Griffin patterned paper, and Recollections pink paper.

Cricut Cartridges:
Used Shapes feature to create the base of card.
Anna's Elegant Embellishments 2 - Lattice Background 4.5" wide x 5. 5" high.
Anna's Fantastic Flipcards   - Using Print and Cut Images
Roses 2.5" wide x 3.35" high. Smaller roses cut 2" wide x 2.68" high. I cut two of each size and pop-dotted one flower on top of second flower to add dimension.
Embellishment - Top left Green image is cut 1.75" wide x 1.042" high.
Bow Embellishment is cut 2.25" wide x 1.264" high from two shades of pink paper.
Anna's Vintage Phrases  - Sentiment "Sweet Surprises" cut 4" wide x 2.273" high.

Side view of card.

For finishing touch, I added an adhesive ribbon trim purchased from Michael's. Recollections pearl is added to the bow.

Hope you enjoy! Thanks for your visits and comments!
