Time To Celebrate..Happy Birthday

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

It has been awhile since I have posted on my blog. Today I am sharing a birthday card using a Cut and Emboss die that I recently purchased. Card is 5" x 6 1/2".

Anna Griffin Corner Pocket Dies - The white corner pocket is cut and embossed using my Cuttlebug machine. This set includes three dies. This die set is made for the Empress Embossing machine, but I have now cut and embossed two of the dies. The third die is too large for the Cuttlebug. Does that mean that I will have to buy an Empress?

Cricut Cartridges:
Insert Shape:
Card is cut 10" wide x 6.5" high from white cardstock. Yellow patterned paper is cut 4.75" wide x 6.25" high.
Anna's Window Box Cards - Time to Celebrate is cut 1.715" wide x 3.25" high. Two of the yellow roses with the small blue flowers are cut 2.153" wide x 2.75" high with one cut using flip feature. Middle rose is cut smaller, but I did not record size.
Anna's Vintage Florals - Iris is cut 2.89" wide x 4" high.
Anna's Soiree Lettering - Butterfly is 1.75" wide x .831" high.

Inside of Card!

Anna's Gracious Giftables  - Rose Boutonniere. Two of the yellow flowers are used inside card.
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards - Happy Birthday to You is written with the Cricut Bluebonnet pen on a  3.75" wide x 4" high white cardstock.

Hope you enjoy! Thanks for your visits and comments!

Spring Birthday Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I found a few challenges that I decided to play along with. Sketch is from Tuesday Morning Sketches. I was able to make use of some pretty pattern and solid Anna Griffin scrap papers by using this pretty sketch. Card measures 7" wide x 5" high.

Cricut Cartridges:
Anna's Window Frame Card - Card is cut 7" wide x 10" high from Colorbok white cardstock.
Using Insert Shapes in Cricut Design Space, I added a square and changed it to a 6.75" wide x 4.75" high mat from the green pattern paper. Beige Pattern paper is cut 6.75" wide x 2.50"  high.  I cut three squares at 2 1/2" from Anna's floral paper. Strips are cut 6.75" wide x 1" high from the pink and green solid papers.
Anna's Fantastic FlipCards - Print and Cut Floral image is 2.985" wide x 4" high.
Anna's Window Box Cards - Happy Birthday sentiment is Print and Cut image measuring 1.75" wide x 2.007" high.
Print and Cut images are printed on Recollections Shimmer Cardstock White Gold. Images print well on this paper and has a pretty shimmer to it.

Flowers and Sentiment are pop-dotted on card. I use green and white crinkle ribbons to make the bow.

I like the results of these pretty papers with the nice sketch. Hope you enjoy!

My First Collar Fold Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Looking at cards on Pinterest, I chose the Collar Fold Card to be the next challenge with my friend Cathy. I noticed this card style is also called Peek a Boo Card. Sometimes I get carried away just looking at the beautiful and inspiring cards. I should be using that time to actually make a card!

Needing a pretty double-sided paper for this card, I chose these pretty patterned papers from some K&Company paper pads.

Cricut Cartridges:
Anna's Window Box Cards - Sentiment You Are In My Thoughts
Anna's Window Ledge Cards - Roses cut 2.371" wide x 1.8" high. I cut off the white rose.
Anna's Summer Soirees - Pool label is cut 4.25" wide x 3.286" high.
Anna's Garden Cards & Embellishments - Warmest Wishes sentiment is written with Cricut Midnight pen on the label. This is used inside the card.

Inside of card.

This is an easy card style. I enjoy using double-sided papers and this is a great card for that!

My First Bridge Fold Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Browsing through card styles and tutorials on Pinterest, I noticed a cute card style that I have not made. Using the photo tutorial from Song of my Heart Stampers, I decided to give the Bridge Fold Card a try. There are many tutorials and photos available. I saw this card style also listed as a U Fold. While this is a new style for me, I think this was posted in 2017. I have not been looking at Pinterest often, have I! I challenged my friend Cathy to make a card using the tutorial. We are challenging each other to try different card styles and it has been fun!

You can cut two card bases from a 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock if you are cutting with a hand cutter.

Using my Cricut Maker, I was able to make the template using shapes in Cricut Design Space.
Card is cut 8" x 4.25" from a Recollections pink shimmer cardstock. It is scored at 1.25", 2.5", 5.5" and 6.75".
Four strips of pretty Anna Griffin floral paper were cut at 1" x 4" for the side mats on the card.
Looking at the lower photo, the card is laid flat so you can see the position of the patterned papers. Green mat is cut 2.75" x 4" for the center section.
The lower bridge strip is cut 5.5" x 1.25" from a solid coordinating paper. Patterned paper is cut 5.25" x 1".

 Card opened flat

Cricut Anna's Window Box Cards - White sentiment mat is cut 2.042" x 2.334". Best wishes is printed on the pink mat with Cricut Midnight pen.
Cricut Anna's Fantastic FlipCards - Roses cut 2.321" wide x 3.4" high.

Cuttlebug Folders:
Textile on the rose floral papers, Swiss Dots on the two inside rose strips.

Sentiment mat and roses are pop-dotted on the card. White pearls were added. I used pop-dots to join the bridge strip to the card. Card will lay flat for mailing.

It makes me happy to try different card styles. I really like the way this turned out! Hope you do too! Maybe you would like to try this card style...good way to use some of those pretty scrap papers.

Smile

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have been busy with lots of pretty pink and coordinating papers on my projects lately. What should I do with those smaller papers that are left over! Make another card, of course. Patterned papers are from Anna Griffin. I dislike tossing an inch of those pretty papers! This is the results! White card is 5" x 6 1/2".

To add more dimension, I pulled out my Cuttlebug and folders.
Cuttlebug Folders: Madison - Pink background mat, Geometric Circles on the green strip, and Polka Dots on the narrow pink strip.

Cricut Cartridges:
Anna's Vintage Phrases - Smile is a Print and Cut image. Size is 2.50"
Anna's Window Box Cards - Scroll Embellishment is cut 2.301" wide x 3.11" high.
Anna's Fantastic Flip Cards - Roses--Print and Cut image. Size 2.5" wide x 3.35" high.

Inside card:
Cricut Anna's Bridal & Baby Soirees - White with pink mat is cut 4.50" wide x 6.00" high.
Cricut Anna's Fantastic Flip Cards - Congratulations to you is written with the Cricut Pink Crystal Pen.

Pop dots are used on the flower and sentiment.

 Inside of card!

I love how this card turned out. It is a surprise card on a great accomplishment for a dear friend!

Fall Window Box Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

The calendar shows Autumn will soon be here. With the high temperatures we have been having, I am ready. I have been staying inside and playing with the Cricut machine. Today I am sharing my Fall Window Box Card.

Cricut Cartridges:
Anna's Window Box Cartridge  -  Box Card
Photo Play Paper - Autumn Day   - Gold Maple Leaf, Red Maple Leaf, Brown Oak Leaf, Branch, Acorn, Pumpkins, Autumn Breeze Fall Leaves Circle, and Harvest Wheat. These are Print and Cut images.
Walk in My Garden - Sunflowers
It's Fall in the Details  - Large individual maple leaf is cut 3.50" wide. I planned to use the leaves from this cartridge in the box. However, because of the cut out details, the leaf needed to be cut at a larger size. I will use it as a decoration.

Cuttlebug:
Swiss Dots embossing folder is used on the Red Maple Leaves.

Some images are pop-dotted for dimension. Crinkle Ribbon bow is from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces.

Anna's Window Box Cards - The box card image comes into design space at 10.406" wide x 8.753" high. The box is cut from the double-sided yellow paper.
Large scroll embellishment is cut 2.603' wide x 4.125" high. I also cut a smaller scroll but did not record the size.
