For the Birds!

This week at Jitterbuggin', the challenge is For the Birds. We are to add a favorite Cricut bird,  follow the sketch, and use something pink. I like the little bird couple on Sweetheart cartridge found on page 67. It is cut at 3 3/4 inches. The hearts are on page 72 and are cut 4 1/2 and 2 1/4 inches. All papers are from My Mind's Eye Home Glitter Book. Each paper has so much glitter that I glued a piece of vellum over the two hearts. Sentiment is on page 42 and is cut 1 inch. Sorry the photo is not good.. so much glitter--pink background is not showing as pink.

Challenges:

Cooking With Cricut- Glittermania
BBTB2 - Bird or Armadillo

Love you! Paper Playtime Challenge #34

Hello and welcome to my blog today! Today at Paper Playtime, our fun Challenge #34 is to use the word LOVE on our project. With Valentine's Day fast approaching, I decided to make a Valentine's Day card. I started with a 6 1/2 x 5 inches white cardstock card. The gorgeous designer papers are from K&Company. I love pink and green and whenever I saw this paper I thought it would be pretty for my card.
The background paper is cut 6 1/4 x 4 3/4 inches. The label and words are cut from Cricut Lite Lacy Labels cartridge using all 4 features and each cut at 4 inches. This is the first image on the first row of the cartridge. Isn't it a pretty cut! The white paper is a pretty metallic shimmer from Recollections Winter. The white lace strip under the label is cut using the Martha Stewart Doily Lace Trim edge punch.

For the inside of my card, I used the heart patterned paper for the background. Martha Stewart Lace Punch is used on one end of the paper and then the paper is mounted on the strip of pink striped paper. The sentiment "Be My Valentine" is cut at 10 inches using Cricut Wild Card. This is the phrase feature and can be found on page 67.

Hope you enjoy my card! Now it is your turn to play along with us. Submit any new paper project and use the word Love on your project. You have until midnight Saturday to enter your project.. We look forward to seeing your projects!
Our sponsor this week is http://www.michellesscrap.com/  and she is offering a $10.00 gift certificate. Thank you Michelle!

Love with Hugs & Kisses

It is time to make a few Valentine's Day cards. For this card I used Sketch 3 of RAQ's Card Sketch Challenges 01/11/11- 01/18/11 on the Cricut Messageboard. Carolyn designed and shared these sketches. Great sketches and Thank You Carolyn! My card is an unusual size for me, but I was inspired by a pack of Recollections No. 10 red envelopes that was an after Christmas clearance purchase. Why not use the envelopes for Valentines! I cut a piece of red cardstock at 8 X 9 1/4 inches and folded in half to make a 4 X 9 1/4 inches card to fit the envelope.
My pretty designer paper is K&Company--I love this Valentine pack collection.
The scroll cuts are the accent/frame feature on page 55 of Cricut Storybook cartridge. I cut the accent/frame and also the blackout feature at 3 1/2 inches. The word Love and shadow are cut at 1 1/2 inches page 34 from Sweethearts cartridge. Lots of Martha Stewart inking!

On the inside of the card, I used Wild Card cartridge. The cut of hearts is the icon feature cut at 7 inches and Hugs & Kisses is the Phrase feature cut at 8 inches. Both cuts are on page 67. White paper is a metallic shimmer from Recollections Winter.
Now I have one Valentine card! I think it is pretty! Let me know what you think!
Hope you enjoy!
