Vintage Florals

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
Birds are singing and flowers are blooming in my area, but we are having cold days this week. Last week, I thought Spring was already here. Oh well, I can sit in my craft room and play with the Cricut. Needing birthday cards, I chose to feature pretty Spring flowers and colors.

My card is 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" and is white cardstock. Pretty papers are K&Company. I am playing with Mary's Sketch 16 at CARDZ TV.

Cricut Cartridges:
Baby Steps - Scalloped oval is cut 3.50" wide x 2.50" high from white cardstock and the green paper. I rotated the ovals to use the 3.50" for the height on my card. Green oval is pop-dotted on card.
Anna Griffin's Vintage Florals - Carolina 2 is cut 1.73" wide x 2.4" high. I inked the edges of the white flower with a pink ink for a little more detail.
Cricut Wild Card - Celebrate is cut 2.6" wide x .75" high.
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards 2 - Sentiment Happy Birthday to you is written with the Cricut Midnight pen on an inserted 3.75" x 4" rectangle. This is used inside the card.

Cuttlebug Cherry Blossom folder is used on the white oval. It is also inked with the pink ink.

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 190 Travel

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

It is time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! I am the hostess for this challenge and have chosen Ch. 190 - Travel. All you have to do is add a way of travel on your card or project. This can be a car/truck, bicycle, airplane, or any means of transportation.

I enjoy using my Cricut Explore. When I first saw this image, I knew that I would have to try it!

Cricut Cartridges:
Crazy Cute Cards - Station Wagon Christmas Card is cut at 21.26" x 10.29". This cartridge is available in Cricut Access. I used the  recommended size for the image found on the handbook page. This size does include the envelope. Handbook states the Finished Card height is 3". The actual height is 4 1/2" which includes the attached tree. Finished envelope measures 4 3/4" x 9 5/8". Papers are from my stash stack.
Wild Card - Merry Christmas is cut 3" wide x 1.22" high. This is used inside the card. I placed the words at a lower position on the card so they are not seen through the open part of the windows.

Christmas in July- Pull Out Fold Card 3

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am back again with another Pull Out Fold Card. Why not use up more of  the left over papers from the first two cards! My paper is from The Paper Studio Yuletide Joy paper pack. These papers are 12" x 12". The tutorial for the Pull Out Fold card can be found at Mary's CARDZ TV. I also used some of the same Cricut images as used on the two previous cards.

Cricut Cartridges:
Anna's Winter Wonderland - Christmas Holly Berry is cut 2.5" wide.
Wild Card - Present is cut 1.35" wide x 3" high.
Merry and Bright - Merry Christmas is cut 2.25" wide. This image includes a frame, but I previously used the contour feature to hide the frame and saved only the words Merry Christmas in my files. Now I can adjust the size of Merry Christmas phrase to fit any project.
Teresa Collins December 25th - Snowflake border is cut 2" wide.

Friends are the best presents sentiment is from Mary's CARDZ TV Home for Christmas stamp set.

Pull out card.

I do like this style of card. As mentioned before, there are many possibilities for decorating the card. I hope you are inspired to try the Pull Out Card. I think the card will also work well with a Christmas decorating display.

Warmest Wishes - Penguin

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

With a little Cricut play time, I made a card to play along with a few challenges. The card is 5" x 6 1/2" white card stock. The pretty snowflake patterned paper is from Recollections Starry Night paper pad. Solid papers are from the scrap stash.

Cricut Cartridges:
Simply Charmed - Penguin is cut 2.5" high. This image is shown in Cricut Design Space using the pinks colors. Of course, I love working with pink so I had to use pink!
Savory - Cocoa cup and spoon is cut 1.25" high. The Explore did not cut the cocoa image that goes in the cup without tearing it. After several failed attempts, I hand cut that piece of brown. I would recommend these images be cut at a larger size.
Wild Card - Warmest Wishes is cut 2.50" wide.
Winter Lace - Snowflake cut 1.75" wide.
Cuttlebug - Snowflakes is used on the two hand cut snow banks. Also used on the pink bow for a little dimension.

Thankful Heart - Iris Folding Leaf

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am sharing another Thanksgiving card. Just thought I had completed all my Thanksgiving cards! Since I love the Fall colors and the holiday, I just had to play with more pretty papers.
Card is 5" x 6 1/2" cream cardstock layered with a brown patterned paper from K&Company paper pad. I have not played with the Iris Folding technique in several years, so I wanted to try making a Iris folding leaf shape for my card. I used a free template found on Circle of Crafters.

Cricut Cartridges:
3D Floral Home Decor -  Using Cricut Design Space, I inserted a basic shape square and resized that to make a 4.75" wide x 6.26" high rectangle. This would be the foundation for the top layer of my card. Using Slice feature, the leaf was cut 4.42" wide x 3.88" high which made the opening in the Kraft paper. Then the fun began choosing papers and creating the Iris Folding leaf.
Thanksgiving -Thankful Heart is cut 3.50" wide.
Wild Card - Happy Thanksgiving is cut 4.25" wide. This is used inside the card.

Inside of Card!
For the finishing touch, I added a bow made with crinkle ribbon that I recently received from Karen at Little Scraps Pieces. I am really pleased with the results of the card! The Iris Folding technique uses strips of paper making this a good way to use some of my pretty scrap papers.

Give Thanks/Thanksgiving

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am sharing another Thanks/Thanksgiving card today! I love the floral patterned paper and had to create a card with it. I am playing along with the pretty sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches and other favorite challenges. All the patterned papers are K&Company. Guess you can tell by now that is one of my favorite papers! Card is 5" x 6 1/2" cream cardstock.

Cricut Cartridges:
Thanksgiving Table Decor - Give Thanks is cut 5" wide.
Anna's Garden Cards and Embellishments - Mum flower is cut 1.75" wide. I think this flower accents the patterned paper!
Wild Card - Happy Thanksgiving is cut 5" wide. This is used inside the card.
I added two shades of brown buttons and one burgundy button to accent the colors of the papers. The finishing crinkle ribbon bow is from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces. Thanks for my recent win of the pretty ribbons.

Autumn Pumpkin

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away. Where did this year go? I have been playing with the Cricut Explore for another Thanksgiving card. There are so many neat features on the machine that I have been wanting to try. This card uses the slice/weld features which is one of those new techniques for me. Card is 5" x 6 1/2" cream cardstock. I used papers from a K&Company pad.

Cricut Cartridges:
Pumpkin Carvings - Pumpkin 49 is cut 3.5" high. After adding a basic circle shape on the pumpkin to the size that looked ok, I used the slice feature. This cut the circle out of the pumpkin. I added a black out of the original pumpkin from the brown paper.
Wildcard - The word Autumn was sized to fit inside the open area yet touching in a couple of places so it could be welded to the pumpkin.
Thanksgiving - Harvest Blessings was cut 4.22" wide x 1.62" high. I used only the word Blessings for this project.
Classroom Oct-Nov - Happy Thanksgiving is cut 4.50" wide. This is used inside the card.

For more interest to the pumpkin, I added Gelly Roll pen doodles and a pretty crinkle ribbon bow from Little Scrap Pieces which I won recently. Thank you so much Karen for the pretty ribbons! Turkey is pop-dotted on a piece of burlap.

Martha Stewart Swirling Lace edge punch is used on the brown paper.
