My Sheri Crafts - Ch 76 Time For A Change

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

We say good bye to 2011 and Hello 2012! Today begins a new and fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts. Challenge 76 is Time For A Change and we are asked to create a card/project with a clock represented. I chose to do a New Year's card!

My card is 5" x 7" made from black cardstock. The pretty background paper is from K&Company Brenda Walton Designer Mat Pad. The double-sided pages are 4.75" x 6.75" and are too pretty to cut so I chose the larger size card. This paper pad is one that was bought on clearance after Christmas 2010 that I have been hoarding.

Cricut Cartridge is Celebrate with Flourish. The images are the first two on the first line. The clock is cut at 2.75". I hand cut a circle of vellum paper to place underneath the clock rather than doing a shadow cut. I really like the looks of the vellum. The clock is pop-dotted on the card.
Happy New Year is cut at 1.25" from silver paper and the layer cuts are the same red and black papers to match the clock. These papers were in my stash.
Cuttlebug Folder: Swiss Dots used on the hat.
I added some red gemstones in the left hand corner of the card.

Now it is your turn to play along with us! Be sure to visit My Sheri Crafts and see all the lovely projects by the design team! We enjoy your visits to each of our blogs and appreciate your kind comments! A clock must be represented on your project. Remember one person is chosen to be the next guest designer and several Ooh la la awards are given.

Ribbons and Rosettes

Welcome to Glenda's Cards! Thanks for visiting today!

Today I am sharing my first project using the Cricut Ribbons and Rosettes cartridge! Ooh, I like this cartridge! It has so many pretty images. It took me two trips to my closest Michael's (which is over 40 miles away) to be able to find this cartridge...they did not receive any for the Thanksgiving sale. But now I have the cartridge!
My card is 6 1/2" x 5" cut from brown Bazzill cardstock. Designer papers are from the Basic Grey Eva Collection Kit. This beautiful pack was blog candy from My Sheri Crafts and I have been hoarding these gorgeous papers for over a year. Do you ever come across pretty papers that you do not want to cut?  That happened with this paper pack. However, I love all the colors and thought it would work perfectly for my project so I cut it!!
Cricut Cartridges:
Ribbons and Rosettes - Page 25 Doily, Doily Medallion and Medallion Shadow are cut 1.50". I cut the Doily feature 5 times. After gluing the 5 pieces together, the rosette measures 3" wide. The score lines on the doily cut are 3/4" apart so the rosette height measures 3/4" high. The rosette is pretty on the card, but the card will not fit in an envelope. This would have to be a personal delivery!
Nate's ABC's - Page 21- Font 1 feature is cut at .75"
Wild Card - Page 69 Congrats is cut 4.50" I hand cut the brown mat and added green gemstones in each corner.
The pink patterned border is an embellishment paper from the paper pack. I cut it to fit the brown mat. Brown ribbon is from stash!

My talented friend Diana at DL.ART  http://dianamlarson.blogspot.com/ is celebrating her 1'st Blogaversary with a blog hop, a project link up, and a great Cricut cartridge giveaway. You must visit the designers in the blog hop to find the key words for items that must be included on your project and link up your project to her blog by midnight Jan. 6. I am really cutting this close! Congrats Diana on your achievements! Looking forward to seeing all your pretty work this year!
I am also sharing the card at these challenges.

Fantabulous Cricut Ch. 92 - Warming up with Hot Cocoa

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
I hope you enjoyed the holidays and I would like to wish you a very Happy New Year!

Today begins a brand new challenge for the new year 2012 at Fantabulous Cricut! Challenge 92 is Warming up with Hot Cocoa! We are asked to use a cup, chocolate, or even the color brown on the project! My card is 5" x 7" white cardstock. The pretty designer paper is a page from K&Company Designer Mat Pad. The mat measures 4.75" x 6.75" and is too pretty to cut so I chose to make a larger card size. I bought this paper pack after Christmas 2010 on clearance and this is first time to use it.
Cricut Cartridge:
Winter Frolic - Page 59 - Cup is cut 3". Papers are from my scrap stash. I used a piece of vellum to add  the look of the steam.
Page 32 - For the two mats, I used the Tag feature cut 4.25" and for the shadow which was cut at 4.50" in Cricut Craft Room. I eliminated the hole in the tag by using the hide contour feature. I thought the tags make a good mat for the cup.
Page 33 - Phrase Brrr is cut at 1.25". I like the printed image of the little children on the paper and can imagine them saying "Brrr" and wanting a cup of hot cocoa! But of course they are having fun!
Cuttlebug:
The white mat is embossed with the Cuttlebug Sledding folder. I placed the image to line up in the folder so you can see the embossed words "hot chocolate".

Now it is your turn to play along with us. Visit FCCB to see all the lovely projects by the design team. We appreciate your visits and comments. Remember you must follow the theme and as always you must include a Cricut cut! Deadline to link your project is midnight Jan. 8th (mountain time).
