Flaunt It Fridays #22 - Wrap It Up

Hello Bloggers and Hello Friday! It is time again for another fun challenge at Flaunt It Fridays! For this week's challenge we are using Cricut Wrap It Up cartridge and are flaunting the castle on page 24. I do not have that cartridge, but I found a cute castle on  page 22 on Life's A Party cartridge. The handbook shows the castle in red and purple---now is that my sign! I always need cards for friends in the Red Hat Society and we love being queens! I cut the castle using the card feature at 10 inches. This results in a large card with the finished size being 4 1/2 x 10 at the highest point. Every queen wants a large castle!!
Royal wishes which is found on page 56 on Birthday Bash is cut at 2 1/2 inches.
Cuttlebug folders: Moroccan Screen - door, Swiss dots on the red tower pieces.
I randomly placed the punched crowns. These cuts were given to me by a friend. To add bling, I added lots of Recollection gemstones. Inside the card, I used the phrase Happy Birthday from Birthday Bash cut at 4 inches.
Now it is your turn to flaunt the castle. If you do not have the cartridge, you may use a similar cut from another cartridge. For great inspiration from the talented members of the design team, please visit their blog listed on Flaunt It Fridays home page.

We are happy to have http://www.scrapbook.com/ as our sponsor for the May Grand Prize! It is a $20.00 gift certificate to their store. Wow! A shopping trip! To qualify for the grand prize, all you have to do is enter our challenges. The more challenges you enter, the more chances you have to win.

We look forward to seeing your paper projects- card, layouts or altered item, etc.
Hope you enjoy my card!

Cricut-tastic Award

Wow! Look at this pretty award that I have received from my talented friend Larelyn at  Handmade From My Heart! Thank you so much! Larelyn does beautiful work with her Cricut, so be sure to check out her blog.
The rules for the award are as follows: Your blog has been deemed Cricut-tastic.
Wear this badge proudly on your blog and share it with others whom you think also have Cricut-tastic blogs. Also, tell 5 Cricut-related things about yourself.

OK- a bit of Cricut related information!
1. I bought the Cricut Expression January 2009 and I am enjoying it.
2. I must be a Cricut enabler--three of my Red Hat friends soon purchased a Cricut. Maybe I need to work on commission!
3. Of course, most of my first cuts were of red and purple paper!
4. Now, I have 50 cartridges.
5. I purchase my cartridges, paper, and other crafting supplies when on sale!

I enjoy visiting blogs and seeing all the pretty cuts of the Cricut! It is always amazing to see how one blogger can use a cut so completely differently from another blogger! So much talent and inspiration and  I love that! It is hard to choose just a few blogs, but now to pass the award to some blogs that I think are Cricut-tastic! Be sure to visit each blog for great Cricut inspiration!

Mother's Day Side Step Card

I really like to make the side step cards and I thought this would be a nice Mother's Day card for my mother-in-law. She loves working in her flower gardens and has such beautiful flowers.
The card starts with a piece of blue Colorbok cardstock cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Mary at Cardz TV has an excellent tutorial for making a side step card.
Cricut cartridges:
Bloom - Fence 2 cut 3 3/4, Flower box 1 cut at 1 3/4 (purple flower box), Flower box 2 cut at 2 inches ( pink flower box)
Lacy Labels - Hello label cut at 3 1/4 inches. This is the second cut on the second row.
Mother's Day 2010 - Happy Mother's Day cut 2 1/2 inches.
Paper Doll Dress Up - Grass on page 78 (Tab feature using the shift key) cut at 1 1/4 inches. I trimmed some of lower edge so it would not be so tall. Hat on page 38 cut using the flip function at 3 inches.
Walk In My Garden - Shovel on page 106 cut 1 1/2 inches.
Cuttlebug Folders:
Distressed stripes - fence
Swiss Dots - hat and white label
Lots of inking, some faux stitching, and pop dots for dimension complete the card.

I have trouble trying to photograph these card styles. I am posting a photo to show the side steps.
