My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 183 Tags, Tags, and more Tags

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

We are back with a new fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Design team sister Raquel chose Ch. 183 Tags, Tags, and More Tags. She asked that we make a project that features a tag. I seldom make tags, but after viewing the Diagonal Double Pocket Card tutorial at Split Coast Stampers, I knew the card would be a good way to include tags!

The card starts with a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper. I used pretty double sided papers from K&Company Sweet Nectar paper pad. The tutorial that I followed does not allow for the card to be opened. However instructions are given so the card can be opened. With the enclosures for the tags, I like the way that I made the card.

Cricut Cartridges:
Lacy Labels - Thinking of you label is cut 3" wide.
Gypsy Wanderings - Cupcake tag is cut 3.75" high.
Sentimentals - Tag is cut 2.25" wide x 3.75" high. I added another layer cut at 2.34" wide x 3.86" high for a shadow cut. Using the Add Text feature, Happy Birthday was printed on the tag using the Pink Crystal Pen.
Create a Critter- Flower is cut .95" wide x .74" high. The flower is added on the Happy Birthday tag.
The two tags shapes were also cut from cream paper. I glued that paper to the back of tags so a space to write a personal message will be available.
Pearls and ribbon from my stash were used to complete the card.

 View with tags lifted.

Center Step Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have been playing with another Center Step Card. The tutorial can be found at Split Coast Stampers. The base of the card starts with white card stock. I layered it with a patterned page from Mrs. Elizabeth Heirloom package that I have had for several years. The dotted yellow paper is leftover from a previous project.

Cricut Cartridges:
Doodlecharms - Cupcake is cut 2.5" wide x 3.25" high. I did not want the candle on the cupcake so that was trimmed off. Cupcake is pop-dotted on the doily.
Lovely Florals - Doily is cut 4.10" high from white and yellow cardstock.
Sentimentals - Tag is cut 2.50" high. Using the Cricut Design Space write feature, the words Happy Birthday are written with the Lovely Florals alphabet.

Eyelet lace, ribbon, and pearls are from my crafting stash.

Cricut Sentimentals

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Brrrr...It's is cold outside! Such a pretty day yesterday. Temperature was 80 degrees at 3 p.m. but with this current winter blast, the temperature plunged to 37 degrees by 10 p.m. last night. We had sleet/freezing rain in the area during the night, but thankfully not too much at my house. We have not had the weather in the South like many of you have been experiencing all winter. I am ready for Spring! I took the opportunity to play with my Cricut and made a card for a few challenges!

My card is cut using Cricut Sentimentals cartridge and pretty double-sided K&Company paper. I have not used the cartridge in a couple of years. I really like the hand with envelope image and previously used that image back in 2010, so I thought it was time to use it again! Surprise! All of my images are cut from the Sentimentals cartridges!

Cricut Sentimentals:
Page 66 - Pretty shaped Card is cut 10"w.
Page 42- 3 Scalloped circles cut 2.25" are used for the background.
Page 27 - Hand is cut 1.50" h. Hand is pop-dotted on the rectangle tag.
Page 66- Tag is cut 2.75" h. Using the Cricut Explore, text box and write feature, the words For You are written on the tag. This tag is pop-dotted on the circles for dimension.
Page 71 - With Love is used inside of the card.

Cuttlebug folders Script, Swiss Dots, and Heart Blocks are used on the green scalloped circles.

Other supplies include a pink ribbon/lace trim from my stash, Recollections rhinestone embellishments, and DMC Memory thread which was shaped into two hearts and made into a bow on the tag.

Sentimentals Lock and Key

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

We have been having a very rainy weekend in my area. I was able to play with the Cricut and one of the older Cricut cartridges. When I saw the challenge at Papercraft Star to use Locks and/or Keys, I thought it was time to bring Sentimentals out of hiding. Papers are from the 12" x 12" double-sided K&Company Ancestry Com paper pad. Love this paper!
Cricut Sentimentals:
Page 36 - Using the card feature, the card is cut at 5". The key shape opening is cut out of the front of the card. I backed the opening with a coordinating paper. An envelope image is also available on the same page. However I cut my card a bit too large for the envelope to be cut on a 12"x12" paper. Cut and learn! Next time, I will determine the card size first!
Using the Phrase feature, Key to my Heart is cut 1.37".
Page 35 - The lock is cut at 3".
Other supplies include lace and heart shaped pearls from my stash. The lock is pop-dotted on the card. Inking is Versa Magic Gingerbread.

Hope you enjoy this card using one of the favorite older cartridges!

My Sheri Crafts - Ch 83 Marvelous Monograms

Welcome to Glenda's Cards! Thanks for stopping by!

It is time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Challenge 83 is Marvelous Monograms. We are asked to make monogram cards or a special project with lots of style! For my Monogram card, I chose to use lots of Red Hat Lady style!

Cricut Cartridges:
Sentimentals - Page 28 - Card feature cut 5". This is one of the older Cricut cartridges. It has pretty card shapes and frames that I forget to use! Page 29 - Frame, layer, and shadow are cut 4.25".
Storybook - Page 46 - Letter S is cut 1.75".

Other supplies:
Purple Bazell cardstock, Recollection papers.
Rosette is cut at 3/4" x 12' and scored at each 1/4".
Heart shape button and red hat embellishment are Dress It Up "Friends". This package has so many cute buttons and embellishments for a Red Hat Lady. I am so happy that I bought several packages a couple of years ago because I can not find the buttons now.
Paper Studio - Ribbon for the bow
Recollections - Gemstones and the small red flowers.
Red feather from stash!
White Gelly Roll pen for faux stitching.

Now it is your turn to play along with us and share your Monograms! Visit My Sheri Crafts to see the inspirational and pretty work by the design team and our guest designer! We love to read your comments! Remember several Ooh La La awards will be given and one person will be chosen to be our next guest designer!

I am happy with the results of this card! My Red Hat Ladies should like this!

Flaunt It Fridays #12 Forever Young, Model 1, Silhouette

Thanks for stopping by today. It is time for another fun challenge at Flaunt It Fridays. We are using Cricut Forever Young and are flaunting Model 1 using the emblem (silhouette) feature. This cut is found on page 24 in the handbook. I cut the model silhouette image and the solid emblem at 3 inches.

There are so many pretty shaped card features on the cartridges that I seem to forget to use. For this card, I am using Cricut Sentimentals for the card base found on page 61. I just love the scroll edge. The scroll edge could also be used on the side opening of a card. I cut the card feature at 5 inches using some of my favorite double-sided K&Company designer paper.

To add a vintage look to the card, I made flowers. For the flowers, I used Plantin Schoolbook for the cut on page 77. I cut several flowers in varying sizes starting at 2 1/4 for the largest down to 1 inch. The paper is Life's Journey, another K&Company paper pack of double-sided papers. I chose a paper that had antique looking postcards on one side and the opposite side had newspaper print advertising. I used some of each of the paper patterns for the flowers. For the flowers, I used lots of inking, rolled edges under a bit, pop-dotted the layers and added pearl centers to finish the look. Lace and ribbon are from my stash!

Before you try this particular card feature on Sentimentals, I will mention that the lower edges of the scrolls do not line up evenly with the lower edge of the back side of the card. When the card is folded, the right hand side of the scrolls extends a bit past the edge of the card. You may notice a difference in the lower edges in my photo. I do not know if this is a problem on each Sentimental cartridge or just my particular cartridge. I think it adds more of a unique character to the card!!

Hope you enjoy my card! Now it is your turn to flaunt the model silhouette with us! Remember you can use a similar cut if you do not have the Forever Young cartridge. We look forward to seeing your pretty paper projects!

Thank you Larelyn

Welcome to my new followers! Thank each of you for taking time to visit me today!

Recently I was fortunate to be chosen winner of Larelyn's blog candy at Handmade From My Heart.
This card is my "Thank You" to Larelyn!! She is very creative and has beautiful cards on her blog. I enjoy seeing all her work! Visit her blog for great inspiration!

Card is 6 1/2 X 5  white cardstock.
Using sketch 1 from RAQ'S Card Challenge 11-03 to 11-09, I chose these pretty K&Company papers to make my card. Rather than placing the patterned paper vertical as Sketch 1, I rotated the papers horizontally. I did not add a lot of embellishments - wanted the pretty papers to be seen!

Cricut Cartridges:
Storybook - Robin page 31 regular and shadow cuts at 2 inches. I used a pretty light blue paper for the bird.
Scallop oval page 49 is cut 4 inches.
Sentimentals -- Thank You page 79 is cut 1 1/4 inches.

Martha Stewart - fern punch and inks
Recollections gemstones

Larelyn, hope you enjoy the card! If you will email me your snail mail address, I will get the card in the mail to you. Again Thank You for your kindness!!
