Think Spring

We have been enjoying beautiful days and warm weather in my area. In fact the temperature reached 80 degrees again today. Spring is here! For my card, I wanted to use some of the colors of the early Spring blooming flowers. My daffodils and hyacinths have already finished blooming.
The card is 6 1/2" X 5" white cardstock that I covered with a pretty paper from a Miss Elizabeth's pack.
Cricut Cartridges:
Walk in my Garden - Daffodil is on page 93 and cut at 2 3/4 inches. The hyacinth is on page 95 and cut at 2 inches.
Stretch Your Imagination-- Spring in on page 62 and cut at 1 1/2 inches.
Cuttlebug Folders -- Birds and Swirls, Polka Dots
Martha Stewart French Scroll Punch Around the Page

Challenges:
The Cuttlebug Spot -- All Tied Up -Twine challenge. I do not have any of that gorgeous twine so I used Pearl cotten for CrossStitch. I intertwined two pieces and added it down the side of the yellow mat and also for the bow. Maybe I could be lucky and win the great prize this week-- a grab bag of embellishments which includes twine!!

Creative Sisters Monday Challenge - For Challenge # 3, Patti is asking us to "Think Spring". Paper Wishes is the sponsor this week! I would love to win that great package too! Just a reminder the, challenge ends Sunday night so hurry on over with your entry.

Hope you enjoy my card!

Sending Happy Spring wishes to everyone and sharing a photo of my Lady Banks Rose. There are so many more buds to open! Enjoy!

A Child Year's Girl with Clover

Welcome! If you are looking for the Flaunt It Fridays Birthday Bash Blog Hop, please click here or scroll on down after this post.

This week at Jitterbuggin' the challenge is "It's Not Easy Being Green". Sherri asked us to follow the sketch, use green and add a Cricut cut. I love this sketch that Sherri designed for this week's challenge. I was able to play this evening after work and I am sharing my card with you. I have been so busy that this is my first St. Patrick's Day card this year. Yay me! I am ahead for next year!!

The card is 5 inch square using a yellow textured cardstock from Colorbok. I cut the pretty clover-patterned paper at 4 3/4 inches. For the corners, I cut two 1 1/4" squares from the green and two 1 1/2" squares from the lavender and then each square was cut diagonally. Fiskars Scalloped paper edgers was used on the lavender pieces. For my Cricut cut, I used A Child's Year cartridge and cut the little girl with the clover at 2 1/2 inches. She is on page 31. Also the shadow feature at the same size was cut from the lavendar paper. I cut the girl again from the green paper and trimmed the clover off to be used in the little girl's hand. The green mat is cut at 3 1/4" and the yellow is 3 1/8". Cuttlebug Swiss Dots is used on the yellow mat. The little girl is pop-dotted on the mats. Corner pieces on the mats were cut using a EK punch. Lots of inking, white pearls for a little more accent, and the purple ribbon with gold threads complete the look!

Challenges:
Jitterbuggin' -- Follow sketch, use green, and a Cricut cut
My Sheri Crafts -- #48 St. Patrick's Day
Cooking with Cricut -- #21 Green scene--use 2 shades of green
Fantabulous Cricut - Square Card -Colors green and gold or bright yellow. My yellow paper may not be too bright, but I do have gold threads in the ribbon.

Maybe I can find another challenge or two to enter the card. Hope you enjoy!

Flaunt It Fridays Birthday Bash Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to Flaunt It Fridays Birthday Bash Blog Hop. If you have arrived here from talented Stacey of Stacey's Creative Corner, you are in the right place. If not and you would like to start at the beginning go directly to Flaunt It Fridays.

This week we are flaunting the little bunny with present on page 27 of the Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge.

For my project, I made a cute little Easter basket for a Red Hat Lady. I found a great tutorial at SplitCoastStampers. The base of the basket starts with one piece of 4 3/4" x 7 3/4" piece of cardstock. One piece of 1" x 11" piece of cardstock is needed for the basket handle. You will need one 1 1/2" x 15" of patterned paper to decorate the basket and one 7/8" x 11" of patterned paper to decorate the handle. See the tutorial for the complete directions! I used the Martha Stewart doily lace edge punch on a piece of the purple paper and glued it around the top edges of the basket. To secure the handles of the basket, I used Red Hat Society brads. The little bunny is cut at 2 3/4 inches using a lavender piece of K&Company Designer Mat Pad. I used an Action Wobble on the bunny and placed it on the basket. It is so cute when it wobbles. Here is a close up view of the Wobble and my cute little brad.

For my second project, I chose to make a card to go along with the basket.

These projects are my first time to use the Birthday Bash cartridge. I was pleasantly surprised to see a cut for a crown! This is the card/tag cut on page 47 and is cut at 5 3/4 inches. For the remaining cuts, I used the Layer 1 and Layer 2 on page 56 cut at 6 inches. First I tried 5 3/4" (same as card size) but it was too small, so I used a size larger. I trimmed off a bit of the red check paper for a better fit. Hmm, guess I need to learn to use a Gyspy! Of course, Red Hat Ladies like bling! I added little red hearts which was a Valentine clearance, Recollections gemstones, and Diamond Stickles. For the inside of the card, I used the phrase feature on page 56 to cut Royal Wishes at 3 inches. "For you" phrase is found on page 34 and is cut at 2 1/4 inches. This is photo of the inside of the card. I hope you enjoy my projects!

Now for a little blog candy! I have a package of Special Moments scrapbook stickers, a package of Miss Elizabeths Scrapbook Embellishments-Travel theme, and 5 mats that I have embossed with some of my favorite Cuttlebug folders.

Paper Playtime - Pink and Glitter

Good morning! Welcome to my new followers! Thank you for your interest and support of my work.
It is time again for another fun challenge at Paper Playtime! As you may know, starting this month our challenges have been  changed to the second and last Monday of each month. For our March 14th challenge we have 3 themes that you may choose from. 1. Use Green and Purple on your project, 2. Use Pink and Glitter on your project, or 3. Use a Critter and a Rhyme.
I could not pass up the opportunity to work with pink and glitter so my card is in honor of Barbie's birthday which was March 9. Did you know she is 51! Ooh, she could be a Red Hat lady now!!
My card is cut using the doily card feature on page 52 of the Cricut Wild Card cartridge! The card feature, liner, and blackout were cut at 5 inches. All the designer glitter papers are from My Mind's Eye Home Glitter Pack. The dress is located on page 44 of Cricut Paisley cartridge and is cut at 3 inches. The regular features and both layer 1 and layer 2 are used for the dress. The words "best dressed" and the word shadow are cut at 1 inch and are on same page.  A pink gemstone, a little bow, and a lot of inking complete the card.
We are happy to have Cravin Scrappin as a sponsor this week with the chance to win Cricut April Showers cartridge. Also Paper Pretties is sponsoring with the chance to win the clear stamp set "Time for Cake".
Remember to visit each of the design teams' blogs to see all the pretty projects! Now we invite you to play along with us. Choose a theme and submit your paper project for the chance to win one of the great prizes.

Hope enjoy my card. Hope Barbie will like her new dress!
