Happy Birthday

Hi and thanks for stopping by today. I would also like to say thank you to my new followers!
This week at Cooking With Cricut, the challenge is all about Birthdays. Also a bonus challenge is to use one of the two lovely sketches provided by Melin. Needing a birthday card for today, I am using the card sketch.
The white card base is 6 1/2x5. The background paper is cut 6 1/4x 4 3/4. My papers are Martha Stewart playful pink double-sided pad that I have had for quite some time. Using Cricut Lacy Labels, I cut the labels at 4 1/2 inches and used the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls on the patterned paper. The white mat is embossed with the Happy Birthday folder. For the cake, I used Cricut Sweet Treats cartridge page 40. It is cut 3 inches. This week's sponsor for the challenge is Peachy Keen Stamps. I wanted to give my cake a cute little smile. I used one of the Snow Cuties 1 1/8 for the face. I won these stamps recently and I enjoy using them! I would love to have more of the stamps!
Lots on Martha Stewart ink and pop-dots for the cake.

For the inside of my card,  I cut Happy Birthday also from Sweet Treats. It is on page 56 and is cut at 2 inches. I added two different strips of the paper for a little more contrast.
Hope you enjoy my card!

Flaunt It Fridays - Paper Pups Challenge

Hi everyone! It is Friday and time for another fun challenge at Flaunt It Fridays. Challenge #9 is to use the dog and cat border feature on the Cricut Paper Pups cartridge. This is found on page 104. I do not have this cartridge and I want to say many thanks to my talented design team friend Pam for making the cut for me. The cut is 2 1/2 inches. She hid the inside with the Gyspy and made the solid background. The hearts are cut at 1 1/2 and 1 inch. Wanting to use a Valentine theme, I was so excited to receive the cut and see the gorgeous paper she used on the cat and dog. Aren't the Peachy Keen eyes so cute? I just love it!!

My background paper is from K&Company and is layered on a 6 1/2 x 5 white card. An EK punch was used to make the corners at top of the card. I cut the phrase "You & Me" from the Cricut Sweethearts cartridge. This image is on page 39 and is cut at 2 inches on the regular cut and shadow cut. It is pop-dotted on the card. I recently bought the Sweethearts cartridge and I am loving all the pretty cuts. The hearts are also pop-dotted.

Hope you enjoy my card! Now it is your turn to Flaunt your project with us! If you do not have the cartridge, you may use a similar cut from another cartridge. We would love to see your card, layout, altered project, etc. You have one week to summit your entry. Hope to see you there!

Birthday easel card

This is a birthday easel card made for a friend's daughter. Card size is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 when closed. Background paper is embossed with the Cuttlebug Textile folder. The cuts are from Cricut Forever Young cartridge. The scallop oval is found on page 26 and is cut 3 1/4 inches. It was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder and pop dotted on the background paper. I cut the hat at 1 1/2 inches--this is found on page 63.  I used two shades of purple for the hat, but the photo does not show that well.

A portion of the Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder is used for the sentiment and pop-dotted on the card. This provides a place for the front of the card to stand. I used lots of Martha Stewart purple inking and some gemstones from my treasure chest. Hope she will enjoy this card!

Thanks for visiting today! Your comments are always appreciated!

Present for you

Hi everyone! Hope your weekend is going great! As I am needing several more Valentines, I wanted to do this card using the Jitterbuggin' challenge this week. This week, using any sketch, our cards are to be based on brown and only one other accent color. Also we must add a bow somewhere on the card. The pretty brown and pink polka dot paper from Paper Pizazz caught my eye and I knew my accent color would be pink. My favorite color--why not! The polka dot paper is layered on top of the white 6 1/2 X 5 inches card. I continued with more paper layers. Martha Stewart Lace Heart is used on two sides of the pink paper from K&Company Valentine pack. The cream/polka dot paper is from Paper Studio Mirabelle paper pack and is embossed with the Cuttlebug Hearts folder. I used the Martha Stewart scoreboard to score lines on the paper and mounted it on the solid brown paper which also was scored on each side.
Cricut cartridge:
Sweethearts- Puppy on page 44 is cut 3 inches; brown/pink polka dot paper bow is cut 1 1/4 inches found on page 55 and the sentiment For you is cut 1 1/2 inches found on page 52.
I added pink heart gemstones for the eyes and little pink bow for a little more detail on the puppy. Pop-dotted the puppy. Lots of inking and used white Gelly roll pen for the accents.
Hope you enjoy! Your comments are always appreciated!
