Die Cuttin' Divas - Ch. 313 Any Shape Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today begins a new fun challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. Ch. 313 is Any Shape Card!
As you know, I use my Cricut Explore machine a lot. Cricut cartridges and Cricut Access have a variety of shaped cards. The hardest part is selecting which card to try! I chose a card that I have not made previously. Papers are Recollections and White Colorbok.

Cricut Cartridges:
Crazy Cute Cards - Mother's Day Bouquet Card is cut 22.39" wide x 14.71" high. This also includes the envelope. The finished card measures 5 1/8" wide x 4 3/4" high. I made two cards, one focusing on purple flowers and the other on pink flowers.
Cindy Loo - Thinking of you is cut 3.50" wide x 1.84" high. This is used inside the card.

Happy Birthday Shaker Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I thought Spring had sprung in our area, but it is much cooler today! Nice day to stay inside and play with the Cricut machine! Today I am sharing my first attempt at a shaker card. Needing a birthday card for one of my Red Hat Lady friends, I was excited to play with red and purple. I was inspired to use sequins by the FCCB blog but would you believe I had to buy sequins! I like the way this turned out so I will probably use sequins again!

My white cardstock card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Patterned paper is from a Red Hat Society paper pack that I have had for ages! Solid papers are Recollections scraps from previous projects.

Cricut Cartridges:
Cindy Lou - Frame is cut 3.50" wide x 3.02" high. I actually cut two frames, one from red paper and the one from purple paper. I chose to use the purple frame and I cut the red flower segment out of the red frame and placed it on the purple frame. I could not find any acetate paper so I hand cut a piece from a scrapbook page protective cover. The light purple paper was hand cut for the backing of the frame. Red and purple sequins are used inside the frame.
Classic Font - Thinking of You is cut 2.75" wide. I lost the two little dots for the i's and chose to use two sequins. Works for me!
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards - Happy Birthday Friend is written with a red Precise V5 Pilot pen on a 3.75" square.

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am sharing a cute purse card for a Red Hat Lady! Of course, I am using red and purple papers! These are from Recollections. I love how this turned out! I am sure my friend will love it too!

Cricut Cartridges:
Crazy Cute Cards - Card is cut 26.51" x 22.03 following the dimensions as shown on the handbook page. The size includes the envelope.
Home Decor - Flower is cut 1.54" wide x 1.21" high from the two colors. Pearls were added for a little bling.
Cindy Loo - Using Add Text feature, the S is cut 1.48" w x 1.54" high from the two colors of paper.
Inside the Card:
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards - Happy Birthday Friend is written on an inserted shape cut at 4.25" x 3".
Anna's Lace Cards and Embellishments - You are the Best is written on an inserted shape cut at 3" x 2".

Picture of card when first opened.

Completely opened card.
The lower envelope on card is a good place to stash a gift card, but since I am giving a gift, I chose to use the wonderful sentiment.

Easter Box

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

The past week has been really busy. With all the recent heavy rains and flooding in our area, I have moved my parents in my house with me. Water should not go into their house, but the road became impassable last Saturday. Water had been rising 6 inches daily, but the last couple of days only 4 inches each day. Predictions are for the nearby river to crest on Thursday. Even with that date, it will probably still be several weeks before they can return home. Many acres of farmland are under water and lot of that land had already been planted with corn crops. Several families have moved out from the low-lying areas. My Cricut playing has been limited, but I hope to be playing more in the upcoming days.

I wanted to make a small Easter box for candy and to use as decoration. Since I have not bought any Easter candy, I am using peppermint in it now. Papers are from the pastel scrap stash. I decorated each side of the box using Cricut images. Eight cartridges were used!

Cricut Cartridges:
Cindy Loo - Basket is cut 11.50" wide.
Classroom April- May - Happy Easter is cut 2.75" wide. A piece of acetate is glued to the sentiment to hold in the box.
Create A Critter - Rabbit is cut 2.25" high.
Easter 2010 - Chick is cut 2.25" high.
Easter Magic - Blue, yellow, lavender egg is cut 2.25" high.
Plantin Schoolbook - Grass is cut 2.15" wide x .47" high
Teresa Collins - Bunnies and Chicks - bunnies and chicks border is cut 2.90" wide x .30" high
Teresa Collins - Easter Basket - Yellow and lavender egg is cut 1.78" wide x 2.75" high.

Pink twine from Diana at DL.ART is used for the four bows on each corner. Thank you Diana for my recent win!

Sharing pics of the different sides of the box.

I am pleased with the results of the little box! Hope you enjoy it!

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 176 Lovely Lace

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today begins a new fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts. Design team sister Kristi chose Ch. 176 Lovely Lace. We are to use lace somewhere on the project.
I have been wanting to use the Pleated Skirt Fold on a card. The tutorial can be found at Split Coast Stampers. I knew some left over papers from K&Company Watercolor Bouquet 12" x 12" paper pad would work beautifully for the pleated skirt and card. I love these pretty reversible papers! Card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" cut from white cardstock.

Cricut Cartridges:
Mother's Day Boquet - Flower is cut 1.75", 1.50", 1.25" and 1.00" wide. I spritzed each layer with water and crumpled. After partially drying, I formed the flower. Flower is attached with a pop-dot.
Cindy Loo - Phrase Thinking of You is cut 3" wide.
Anna's Lace Cards and Embellishments - Birthday Sentiment. Sentiment was attached to a 3.75" wide rectangle shape and written with the Cricut Midnight pen. This is used inside the card.

Eyelet lace and ribbon are from my stash.

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

With the holidays fast approaching, my thoughts have turned to making Christmas cards. This card is 5" x 6 1/2" cream card stock. The pretty patterned papers are K&Company Glad Tidings paper pad. These papers are so pretty that I really did not want to cut it, but I am pleased with the results.

Cricut Cartridges:
Joys of the Season - Candle image is cut 3.25" high. It is embossed with the Cuttlebug Textile folder and pop dotted on the burlap. The pine cone is cut 2" wide.
Cindy Loo - Peace is cut 2" wide.
Winter Wonderland - Merry Christmas is cut 5.5" wide. This is used inside the card.

I added a strip of lace burlap and some pearls to the card. Edges of paper are slightly frayed.

Thinking of You!

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am sharing a "Thinking of you" card that may brighten someone's day! The card is cut from white Colorbok cardstock and measures 5" x 7" folded. My pretty patterned K&Company papers are left over from previous projects. I like to work with patterned papers and combine as many as I can on a project. I frayed and inked the background papers.
Cricut Cartridges:
Cindy Loo - Sentiment "Thinking of you" cut  2.41"w  x 1.27"h
Elegant Edges - White and pink oval mats cut 4"h.
Kate's ABC's - Mason Jar cut 2.4"h. This image has several butterflies included, but I edited the image cut so I could have only the jar. I used the blue paper and topped it with the pretty floral paper and added a little heart to the jar. Finishing touch is the twine bow.
Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots on the white mat

Other supplies include an eyelet lace with pink ribbon woven through it, pearls, and a pretty Spare Parts pink paper flower.

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 97

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

It is time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! In observance of Mother-in-Law Day (Oct. 28), our design team sister Sue asked us to create a card using Fall colors and 3 embellishments.
My card measures 5" x 6 1/2" from white cardstock. Patterned K&Company and the solid papers are scrap papers from previous projects. Always nice to get another project!

Cricut Cartridge:
Cindy Loo - Page 68 Font - Thinking of you is cut 1.5".
Cheery Lynn - French Pastry Doily and Doily Angel Wing
For my embellishments I used a handmade rosette left over from a previous project, a leaf button with the shank cut off and placed on a pop-dot, and the flower button in the rosette.
Simple card, but I like the results!

Visit My Sheri Crafts to see all the pretty projects by the design team and our guest designer! For more details, visit each designer's blog and leave a little a love! We enjoy reading your comments!
Now it is your turn to play along with us. Remember you must use Fall colors and 3 embellishments. Several Ooh la la awards will be given and one person will be chosen to be our next guest designer.

Rosette and Embossing

Welcome to Glenda's Cards

I had fun playing with new crafting items in making this card and I am liking the results! I will be sharing it in a few challenges!
Card is 5" x 7" cut from white Colorbok cardstock. It is layered with a 5" x 7" paper from my new K&Company Sweet Nectar Specialty Paper. This has really pretty papers plus some glittered papers.
White Colorbok mat measures 4 1/2" x 6 1/2". It is embossed with Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Splendid folder. Wow! These folders are 5"x7" and are reversible..you get two designs for added value! I inked the paper after it had been embossed with VersaMagic Dew Drop Dixie Dust. I love the light shading of pink.

Another new product is the Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily Die and the matching Angel Wing. The doily is cut on my Cuttlebug using the white paper. Finished size is 4 1/8" x 4 1/8". Using the Angel Wing, I cut a piece of the patterned paper for the mat behind the doily.

The Rosette is a hand cut 1 1/4" x 12" strip of pink dot coordinating paper that was scored at each 1/4" on the Martha Stewart scoreboard.

Cricut Cartridge:
Cincy Loo - Page 38 Flourish Border is cut 1". I cut two of the flourishes to frame the doily.

Other supplies:
VersaMagic Gingerbread inking on the pattern papers. Pink button on rosette is from stash. Ribbon is blog candy from a friend. Small pink Recollection rhinestones are on the doily and accent some of the embossed flowers. Doily mat is pop-dotted for added dimension.
I omitted a sentiment for the front of the card. It can be used for several occasions including Easter, Mother's Day, Birthday, or Just Because card!
Enjoy!

Challenges:
BBTB2 - Cindy Loo Flourish
Die Cuttin' Divas - 3 R's  Rosette, Rhinestones, Ribbon
Made Especially For You - Distressed Inking
