I have missed playing along with some challenge blogs and I have been determined to get a card made this weekend.
At Jitterbuggin' Sheri asked us to celebrate National Pig Day (March 1) by making a card with a pig on it. I was unaware of the holiday, but it sounded like a good reason to make a card! Also we are to use 2 different patterned papers, add some buttons, and we can use any sketch. I just received Cricut Country Life cartridge and was happy to see a pig image on it! Hope it is Ok to have two pigs!! This image is on page 40 and was cut at 2 1/2 inches using the regular, layer 1, and layer 2 features. Lots of inking and for a little embellishment bling, I added two gemstones on the bows. The sentiment is also on the same page and was cut at 1 3/4 inches using the phrase and shadow features. I handcut the small banner piece and pop-dotted the sentiment on it. Two tiny matching buttons are from my stash of goodies.
For the papers, I was able to incorporate 4 patterned papers. I used 5 solid papers on the card which include the pink for the pig noses and darker pink for the mouth. This does not show too well in photo. The double-sided papers are from a Martha Stewart Playful Pink paper pad. Brown and black are Colorbok.
Martha Stewart edge punch was used on the lavendar gingham paper.
I love it when I can enter a card in more than one challenge. I was so excited that Cooking with Cricut Challenge 19 is Double Take! We are to use 2 pieces of patterned papers (perferably different patterns), 2 pieces of solid papers (perferably 2 different colors), 2 embellishements and a Cricut or other die cut machine cut. I believe I have all that covered...and I have 2 Pigs!! Will that count extra!
You still have time to join in the fun for both these great challenges! So head over to the blogs and enter your project!
