Exciting News!

I am so happy to announce that I have been selected to be on the Flaunt It Fridays Design Team! Wow! This is so exciting!
Sandra of 365 Days of Cricut and Janis of Pause Dream Enjoy are co-founders of the recently formed challenge blog. It will be an honor and pleasure to work with Sandra, Janis, and all the talented designers. They are an awesome group of designers!
Each Friday a new challenge will be posted to Flaunt a chosen cut from a chosen cartridge. If you do not have the chosen cartridge, you can still play along. Just use any Cricut cartridge with a similar cut and Flaunt your design with us. You can make any type project with the cut, but are challenged to try something different than the last project.
This week Challenge #5 is From My Kitchen - Martini. You still have time to play along with this challenge.
My first week on the team will start on January 7. I look forward to all the fun and trying different projects. Hope to see you there to Flaunt your creations!

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year to all my blogging friends! Sharing a card made for a Red Hat friend to celebrate the New Year. Red cardstock was cut to make a 5 1/2 X 4 1/4 card. I cut a piece of white textured cardstock 1/4 inch smaller and embossed parts of it with the Cuttlebug Folders Swiss Dots and one of borders of the With Love set. I lightly inked the embossed parts using Martha Stewart ink. Using my Martha Stewart scoreboard, I scored two lines on each end of the white cardstock. The martini glass is cut at 2 1/4 inches from a piece of  lavender pearlescent paper using Cricut From My Kitchen cartridge. Yea, FMK is one of the cartridges Santa brought me!! I used Cricut Wild Card to cut Cheers at 5 inches and the little swirl at 2 1/4 inches.
Of course, I like to add bling to Red Hat cards so I used a red gemstone on the glass and placed purple gemstones on the flower centers and at corners.
This week at Flaunt It Fridays, challenge 5 is From My Kitchen - Martini cut. The talented design team displays very pretty projects for inspiration. If you do not have the cartridge, you can use a cartridge with a similar cut. I was so tickled that I had this cartridge!! So hurry on over and enter your project!!

Hope you enjoy my card!

My Favorite Ten Cards of 2010

Here it is the last day of 2010! I am happy that I started a blog three months ago and have made many new friends. I am joining the bandwagon and sharing my favorite ten cards with you! Looking forward to seeing everyone's creativity in 2011. Happy New Year!

Choosing my Top 10 was very hard because I try to put my heart into each card. My talented friend, Vivi  asked if "Bringing The Tree" could be Honorable Mention. I love this one too Vivi! Thank you so much!

Gold, Silver and White

Using sketch 1 of RAQ'S Sketch Challenge 12/29/10-01/04/11 and also the ad colors for Ad Inspiration Challenge #90 on the Cricut Messageboard, this is what I came up with. The ad color challenge is to use gold, silver, and white. I thought of a Martha Stewart paper pad which I have had for a long time. The double-sided papers in the pack feature the colors gold, silver, and white. How lucky is that!! I cut the flower from Cricut Paisley using the button feature on page 38. Sizes are 1 1/2, 1 1/4 and 3/4 inches. Used gold Stickles in center of flower. I did not add a sentiment at this time, but I think the card can be used for several occasions. A sentiment can be added later!
Enjoy!

Welcome to the Strawberry Patch

'
Good morning! Welcome to my new followers! I enjoyed playing with the sketches at RAQ'S 12/29/2010-01/04/2011 Sketch Challenge. The card is 6 1/2 X 5 inches based on sketch 2. I used Home Accents for the welcome sign. I have had the DCWV Berry Street Farmer's Market stack for over a year. Looking at the strawberry paper, I thought it will be perfect for my MIL's kitchen which is decorated in a strawberry theme. I am sure this will be on display if I can find an empty spot!!
Enjoy!

Winter Cardinal

This is my card using Sketch 2 of RAQ'S Card Challenge 12-22 to 12-28 on the Cricut Messageboard. Card is 6 1/2 X 5 white cardstock. I have a stack of purchased embellishments that I never seem to use. With this card, I was able to use some scrap paper from the Martha Stewart Holidays pad and the coordinating embellishments that I bought December 2009 during clearance sales. The paper pad is so pretty with all the red birds and glitter pages. The red berries on this piece of paper have a pretty sheen which did not photograph too well. Holly leaves and the red bird is from the package of embellishments. The red strip is cut using the Martha Stewart embossed zigzag edge punch. A simple card without any Cricut cuts, but I do like the results.
