Back to School

 Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

School has started in our area. Where did the summer go? I have been playing with a school theme card. Card measures 6" x 6" and is cut from white Colorbok cardstock. The background paper is from a Mary E. Co. paper pack which I have had for a couple of years. A, B, C and 1, 2, 3 are printed on the border of the paper with the apples. I am not sure if you can see that very well..my camera was misbehaving!

Cricut Cartridges:
3 Birds on Parade - School Days is cut 2.84" wide 1.27" high.
Create a Friend - #1 teacher is cut 3.50" wide.
Walk in My Garden - Sunflowers. This cut is the sunflower on the stem but I cut off the stem. This is one of the earlier cartridges that I bought.
Plantin Schoolbook - Using the Text Box, 1,2,3 and A, B, C were cut .50" high.

Sunflowers are pop-dotted on the card. A piece of  measure tape trim was used for the bow.

Hey Friends

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am playing along with a couple of challenges. Card measures 5" x 6 1/2" cut from white cardstock. Papers are My Mind's Eye Simply Delightful. This is an old pad of paper dated 2010. It does have some pretty papers and I enjoy working with patterned papers.

Cricut Cartridge:
Better Together - I was inspired to try these Print and Cut images using the Cricut Explore. Hey Phone Call image is cut 3.50" wide. Do you see the word Hey! Isn't that what friends do - talk a lot!!
Best friends sign is cut 2.25" wide. I am pleased with the results!

Cuttlebug folders were used for added dimension.
Bloom Dots for the blue mat behind the images. Swiss dots on the tangerine color banner and Diamonds in the Rough on the stripe banner.

Sew Easy stitch piercer was used on the papers to make the marks for some Cross Stitching.

Challenges:
Bitten by the Bug 2 - Celebrate Friendship - All about Friends

I had fun playing with these images and the pretty sketch. Hope you enjoy!

Baseball Card for the Birthday Boy

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

My grandsons love to play baseball. My thoughts turned to making a baseball card for a grandson who is having a birthday. We were so proud of him and his team this season. During the regional tournament, he scored his first home run. What a happy guy and parents! He ended the tournaments making two more home runs with one being in the state championship tournament. The card measures 5" x 6 1/2" and is cut from red Recollections cardstock. Star patterned paper is from a Recollections Play Ball page kit.

Cricut Cartridges: I have been enjoying a month subscription to images in Cricut Design Space. I do not own Baseball but it may be added to my list!
Baseball - Batter is cut 3" wide x 4.99" high. I reversed the image for a left handed batter. Home Run is cut 5.50" wide.
Life is a Party - Baseball is cut 1.07" wide x 1.06" high.

Inside of card.

For Inside:
Cricut Font & Basic Shapes - Happy Birthday is cut 4.50" wide.
Baseball - All Star is cut 4.50" wide.
For the phrase "Baseball is Life", I added the swoosh by slicing it from another image in the Baseball cartridge and then welding it to the word Baseball using Cricut Design Space features. Then using the text box, I added "is Life" with the Plantin Schoolbook font. Yes, there is a similar phrase in the Cricut Sports Mania cartridge, but I did not have access to that particular cartridge. So I just tried to make the phrase. I thought it turned out ok!
