Spring Hello

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

After a rainy day on Wednesday, today is a gorgeous Spring day. Some of the backwater has receded and my folks were able to return to their home last Saturday. They were with me for 4 weeks....they were ready to get back to their own routine!! No water got in their house---just could not travel the road.

I decided to make a Spring card and play along with a few challenges! The card is 5" x 6 1/2" white cardstock. Pretty patterned K&Company papers are from the scrap stash.

Cricut Cartridges:
Kate's ABCs - Girl with umbrella and rabbit is cut 3.25" high.
Walk In My Garden - Daisy is cut 1.25" high. I cut three daisies and added them behind the grass. I trimmed off some of the stems to have varying heights.
April Showers - Spring Banner is cut 3.26" wide x 1.00" high.
Bits and Pieces - Hello Tag is cut 1.7" wide x .74" high.

Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder is used on the white mat. Yellow crinkle ribbon is from Karen at Little Scraps Pieces. Thanks Karen for the pretty ribbons! I added a few pink gemstones for a little added bling.

Challenges:
BBTB2 - Umbrella
Die Cuttin Divas - Ch. 263 April Symbols
Double D Challenges - April Showers Bring May Flowers
Little Scrap Pieces - Saturday Linky party
PDE Linky Party - Ch. 120 Anything goes

Hope you enjoy! Thanks for your visits and comments!

A Spring Garden

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

We are still having a wet Spring, but those Spring showers bring May flowers! I played with my Cricut Explore to create a little garden scene. Card is 5" x 6 1/2" white cardstock. All papers are from the scrap stack - a good way to use to all those smaller papers for these smaller cuts.
Cricut Cartridges:
April Showers - Phrase "Spring Garden" is cut 2.50"w.
Celebrate with Flourish - Sun/Cloud is cut 3"w.
Create a Critter - Tulips cut 1.50"h., Butterfly is cut .75"w.
Freshly Picked - Garden Gate is cut 2.50"h., Hoe is cut 2"h., Hat is cut 1.25"w.

I enjoyed creating the little Spring Garden. Working with the Cricut Explore makes it very easy to find the images. Although, I do take a lot of time choosing which image is better for my purpose--so many pretty images to choose from! I would like to work in my flower beds but we had rain during the night. Now I hear thunder! Maybe a day to play with the Explore!!

Challenges:
BBTB2 - Either/or both a sun or cloud
Die Cuttin Divas - Ch. 212 Something you would find in a garden.
FCCB - Ch.249 Welcome Spring - Whatever reminds you of Spring.
My Time To Craft! -Ch. 289 Spring Flowers

Hope you enjoy this card! Thanks for your visit and comment!

Welcome to the Neighborhood!

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I had fun playing with my Cricut and building this cute little house. The card measures 5" x 6 1/2" cut from a lavender cardstock.
Cricut Cartridge is April Showers. The house is cut 5" from some leftover papers of a K&Company patterned paper pad. I added a small piece of vellum behind the windows and door.
Other supplies:
Martha Stewart Layered Arches edge punch is used on the white mat.
Spellbinders MBossabilities Splendid embossing folder is used on the pale blue mat.
My Craft Spot - Friends and Neighbors Stamp was blog candy from Kimberly. Perfect sentiment for my little hand cut banner.
Crinkle ribbon is blog candy from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces.
Lots of inking and the purple gemstones are from my stash.

Challenges:
My Craft Spot -  Ch. 99 Welcome to the Neighborhood
Craftin Desert Diva's -  Craft it up and Link it up Party 7 - Anything goes with ribbon or twine.

Music Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

This fun card is made for a few challenges requiring a music theme. It is inspired by the song "Spring Fever" by Elvis. The first few lines starts with "A little bird, he told me so. He said come on, get on the go. Open your eyes, the sky is full of butterflies."
I got busy with the Cricut and some fun cuts.
Card is 5"x 6 1/2" white cardstock. Patterned paper is The Paper Studio Girls Live To Rock. Solid papers are from my stash.
Cricut Cartridges:
April Showers - Spring fever is cut 1.25". Butterflies are .375"
Groovy Times - I have not played with this cartridge in awhile but when I saw the dance couple, my thoughts turned to maybe a guy with a guitar. The dance couple is on page 24.  I used hide contour in Cricut Craft Room to eliminate the girl. The guy is cut 4".
Also on page 24, the silhouette feature on shift was cut for the white mat at 4.125".
Page 53 - Guitar is cut using Layer 1 and Layer 2 at 2".

Cuttlebug:  Allergo Folder is used on the white mat.
Other supplies: Inking and pop-dots for the guy and guitar.

Challenges:
Die Cuttin' Divas - Ch. 57 Music
Cooking With Cricut - Ch. 78 Spring Song Inspired Challenge

Hope you enjoy this Spring song inspired card! I used several music features while trying to keep the Spring theme with some Spring colors. I know it is a bit different but it was fun to make!
