Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
I thought Spring had sprung in our area, but it is much cooler today! Nice day to stay inside and play with the Cricut machine! Today I am sharing my first attempt at a shaker card. Needing a birthday card for one of my Red Hat Lady friends, I was excited to play with red and purple. I was inspired to use sequins by the FCCB blog but would you believe I had to buy sequins! I like the way this turned out so I will probably use sequins again!
My white cardstock card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Patterned paper is from a Red Hat Society paper pack that I have had for ages! Solid papers are Recollections scraps from previous projects.
Cricut Cartridges:
Cindy Lou - Frame is cut 3.50" wide x 3.02" high. I actually cut two frames, one from red paper and the one from purple paper. I chose to use the purple frame and I cut the red flower segment out of the red frame and placed it on the purple frame. I could not find any acetate paper so I hand cut a piece from a scrapbook page protective cover. The light purple paper was hand cut for the backing of the frame. Red and purple sequins are used inside the frame.
Classic Font - Thinking of You is cut 2.75" wide. I lost the two little dots for the i's and chose to use two sequins. Works for me!
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards - Happy Birthday Friend is written with a red Precise V5 Pilot pen on a 3.75" square.
