Thinking of You!

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am sharing a "Thinking of you" card that may brighten someone's day! The card is cut from white Colorbok cardstock and measures 5" x 7" folded. My pretty patterned K&Company papers are left over from previous projects. I like to work with patterned papers and combine as many as I can on a project. I frayed and inked the background papers.
Cricut Cartridges:
Cindy Loo - Sentiment "Thinking of you" cut  2.41"w  x 1.27"h
Elegant Edges - White and pink oval mats cut 4"h.
Kate's ABC's - Mason Jar cut 2.4"h. This image has several butterflies included, but I edited the image cut so I could have only the jar. I used the blue paper and topped it with the pretty floral paper and added a little heart to the jar. Finishing touch is the twine bow.
Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots on the white mat

Other supplies include an eyelet lace with pink ribbon woven through it, pearls, and a pretty Spare Parts pink paper flower.

Challenges:
CardzTV - Ribbon
My Time to Craft - Ch. 280  Lace
Simply Create Too - Ch.79 Anything goes

BBTB2 - 3-D Halloween Treat Container

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today begins a new challenge at BBTB2! Our talented design team sister Jeri asked up to create a 3-D Halloween Treat container using any Cricut cartridge. Several cartridges have 3D boxes. I have been playing with Wrap it Up and chose the cute pumpkin box for my project.
Purple Recollection paper was used for the box and the other papers are from my scrap stash.
Cricut Cartridge:
Wrap It Up - Page 59 Pumpkin box is cut at 9". Using the Cricut Craft Room and playing with the sizes, I used the Basic and Layer cuts so I would have the four different colors that you see. Phrase Happy Halloween is cut 1".
Page 69 - Tag blackout feature
Candy corn ribbon is Paper Studio. Curly Ribbon used for the bow and tag.

Visit BBTB2 to see all the creative containers made by the design team. For more details, please visit the individual blogs and don't forget to leave a little love! We love comments too!

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 95 It's Picking Time!

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Are you ready for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Our challenge this week is "It's Picking Time". Our design team sister Charlotte asked us to include an apple or a pumpkin on our project.
Cricut Cartridge: Working in Cricut Craft Room
Freshly Picked - Looking through this neglected cartridge, I found this cute pumpkin featured on page 68. You will notice the card has a bit of shape rather than a rectangle. Using the Layers2/Shadow key and cut size 5.25", I welded two of the shapes to make the card base. The patterned designer papers are cut at 5" using the main and main/shadow keys. The pumpkin and leaf are cut 5" using the layers key. Sorry I did not record the size of the green background mat.
I thought the pumpkin sign was just too cute not to use. It is cut at 2.75".
Page 49 -  for sale is cut 1.50".
Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots - Leaf,  Divine Swirls - Pumpkin.
Other Supplies:
Brads and raffia bow are from my stash. Pop-dots used on the pumpkin and for sale sign.
Patterned papers are K&Company Tim Coffey Halloween & Fall. Solid papers DCWV.

I had fun playing with this Cricut cartridge. It also has a seeds packet and a frame cut on the pumpkin page. For a project that I made last year using the apple frame from this same cartridge, please click here.

Visit My Sheri Crafts to see all the wonderful and inspiring apple and pumpkin projects made by the design team and our guest designer. For more information, please visit the designer's blog and leave a little love! We enjoy reading your comments!
Now it is your turn to play along with us! Remember your project must include an apple or pumpkin.
Several Ooh la la awards will be given and one person will be chosen to be our next guest designer!

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 92 Back to School

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Where did summer go? Time for school days already!
Challenge 92 theme this week at My Sheri Crafts is "Back to School"! Our talented design team sister Raquel asked us to create any project related to a school theme.

Cricut Cartridges:
Wrap It Up - This cartridge has great creative features including a card, box, and tag. I used the card and box features.
Page 27 - Card feature is cut 6 .50". The card feature on shift does not include layering so I used the main school images and layer features to achieve my look.
Page 27- Box is cut at 11". Working in the Cricut Craft Room, I also used the main keys and layering keys to finish the box. It is a cute little treat box or maybe container for small school supplies such as paper clips or colors.
The phrase on  the school house page is School's Out so that would not work!
3 Birds on Parade
Page 60 - Phrase "School days". I did not record the size.

Other supplies include pop dots for the phrase, inking, and white Gelly roll pen.

Visit My Sheri Crafts to see all the fun and creative projects by the design team and our guest designer for the week. For more information on the projects, please visit our individual blogs. We do appreciate your visits and comments on our blogs!
Now it is your turn to play along with us! We look forward to seeing your Back to School projects. Remember several Ooh la la awards will be given and one person will be chosen to be our next guest designer!

Patchwork Easter Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards

I am playing along with the fun sketch challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. I decided to make an Easter card so I can play along with a few more fun challenges!
The card is 5" x 5" white cardstock and layered with a 4 3/4" square of lavender paper. The nine little squares are cut at 1 1/2". Easter papers are from a friend and other papers are left over from previous projects. This is a good sketch for using small pieces of paper. The fun is laying out the patchwork design! The ribbon is interwoven on the squares for a bit more color and design.

Cricut Cartridge:
Easter 2010 - Egg and shadow are cut at 2 1/2".

Other supplies:
Easter dimensional sticker is from a Walmart pack of handmade stickers. This has been in my stash for a year-maybe two. I thought the sticker would work well with the different colors in my card.
Ribbon is American Crafts - another after Easter clearance!
Paper Studio pearls
Egg is pop-dotted. Versa Magic inking.

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 81 Easter - Spring's Gorgeous Pastels

Welcome to Glenda's Cards! Thank you for stopping by today!

It is time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Before I tell you about the challenge, I want to welcome Raquel back to the Design Team. You have seen her lovely creations as a past member of the design team but she had to step down for awhile. You may know her as RAQ from Cricut MessageBoard weekly RAQ Challenges. We are so happy Raquel is back and sharing her talent with us!

Now to our challenge this week--Challenge 81 is Easter -Create a card/project using Spring's gorgeous pastels! I decided to try a Shadow Box Card which is another card style marked off my "To Do" list. You can find a great tutorial at Split Coast Stampers for this card style. Just click the link I provided and it will take you to the tutorial.

The double-sided designer patterned papers are from K&Company Watercolor Bouquet. I just love the pretty pinks, greens, and yellows! I started with 2 different patterned papers that were cut at 6 1/2" x 5", rather than the smaller size as stated in the tutorial. Short ends of the papers are scored at 1/2" and 1". After folding, the ends are secured with red Tacky Tape.
For the oval opening in the paper, I used the Creative Memories Oval set.

Cricut Cartridges:  Using Cricut Craft Room.
Easter 2010 - Egg and shadow are cut 3". Happy Easter and shadow are cut at 1".
Other supplies:
Egg is pop-dotted. Flower is Recollections Mulberry Paper Flowers. Ribbon and pearls from my stash.

Be sure to visit My Sheri Crafts and see all the gorgeous colors of Spring projects that the Design Team and Guest Designer have created for you. For more details on the projects, please visit each blog and leave a little love! We enjoy reading your comments! Now we look forward to seeing your lovely projects!
Remember to follow the challenge! One lucky person will be chosen to be our next guest designer and several Ooh La La awards are presented.

Hope you enjoy this card and maybe are inspired to try this card style if you have not done so. I know that I will be making more Shadow Box cards!

Large Valentine Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards! Thank you for stopping by today!

Hope you are having a great day! I have been busy with Valentine's cards but have not completed all I want to do. Is anyone else running late with cards!
I recently received a beautiful card from a card exchange. It is a large size card and covered with so many beautiful details! Thank you so much Beckie and thanks for inspiring me to try a large card!!
This Valentine card is made from a 8 1/2" x 11" red Recollections cardstock and scored in half to make a 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" card. White layer is 8 1/4" x 5 1/4". Zebra print paper is 8" x 5". I am playing along with the sketch challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas this week.
Cricut Cartridges:
Victorian Romance - I just received this cartrige and I am loving the pretty images! I was using the Cricut Craft Room and the heart is cut at 4.5". Love is cut at 3.0"w x 1.694"h. I adjusted the size until I was pleased with it. Good thing about the CCR!
Elegant Edges - White mat is the Shadow feature on page 39. Sorry, I did not record the size but it measures 6 1/2"h. I cut the image in half to use on the card so I have an extra mat for later use.
Cuttlebug: Polka Dots folder on the white mat.
Martha Stewart Lace Hearts edge punch was used on the red paper. I added the cut out tiny red hearts on the white mat to add a bit of color.
The flower ribbon brad is from Spare Parts. I thought that was so cute so I just had to buy the package and then discovered the package was on sale!!

My Sheri Crafts Ch. 77 New Things!

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

It is time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! For Challenge 77, design team member Michelle chose the theme "New Things"! We are asked to include new crafting items that we may have received on our project or maybe use a new technique. I enjoyed working with a new card style technique. When you look at the front of the card, it does resemble the Triangle Trifold. However, when it is opened, you see that it is a Six-Fold Card. The inspiring tutorial can be found at SplitCoastStampers.

The base of the card is made from a 8"x 12" piece of white cardstock. Please view the tutorial to see the scoring, cutting, and folding instructions. My designer papers are from K&Company Kelly Panacci Valentine that was bought last year. In fact, most of the papers are left over scraps from last year's Valentine projects.

Cricut Cartridges:
Ribbons and Rosettes - This is one of my newest cartridges and only the second time for me to use it. I love all the beautiful rosette and border cuts that are available. The Heart rosette is on page 35. It was cut at 1.50" in the Cricut Craft Room and cut 6 times.
Elegant Edges - Page 50 -Circle 2 was cut 3.528" x 3.50" from white cardstock. I used this cut for the background mat for the rosette. Same cut using pattened paper for the mat under the word Love.
Sweethearts - Page 34 - Love is cut 1.75", Page 73- Heart flowers (6 petals) and shadow cut 1.25". I used only one of the flowers cut using the shift key for the flower at top of card. It is cut at 1.75".

Other supplies are pink inking, Stickles Diamond on the flower centers, pink heart gemstone, and pop dots for the rosette. Happy Valentine's Day is one of the dollar wooden stamps from Michael's.

After my card was finished, I realized the triangles on the card front were in different direction than those shown on the tutorial. Hmm, I turned my paper the wrong way! Well, guess I added my own little twist because it works fine for me! Because of the thickness of the layers, I chose to do a band to go around the card rather than a ribbon.

Hope you enjoy my project trying to learn a new card technique.
Now it is your turn to play with us at My Sheri Crafts. Be sure to visit the designers to see all the great projects they have created for the challenge. We look forward to seeing your projects with new items or maybe a new technique. Remember one person will be selected to be the next guest designer and several Ooh La La awards are given!

Red Hat Birthday

Welcome to Glenda's Cards! Thanks for stopping by!

Today I am sharing a card made for a Red Hat Lady. It has been awhile since I have played with red and purple and I enjoyed putting this card together. I am playing along with the sketch at Die Cut Diva's this week. The card is 5" x 6 1/2" cut from purple cardstock. It is layered with a gingham check paper cut at 4 3/4' x 6 1/4". Red cardstock measures 4 1/2" x 4 3/4" and is layered with a white cardstock measuring 4 1/4" x 4 1/2". The red dot strip is layered over a purple strip. I was happy to find this new paper. It is getting so hard to find different reds and purples!
Cricut cartridge:
Sweet Treats - Page 28 - Cupcake and layers cut 2.50". Page 42 - Cake plate and layers cut 1.5".
Cuttlebug:
Happy Birthday folder - White mat, Swiss Dots - Cake plate, Divine Swirls - Chocolate Frosting
