Hello Crafters! Hope you enjoyed the Thanksgiving holidays with family and friends. Today I am happy to be the quest designer at Die Cuttin' Divas! This week's challenge is Tags. With Christmas fast approaching, I searched through Cricut Design Space cartridges to find some Christmas Tags.

Christmas Lights Gift Tag  - Cut 3.01" wide x 3" high.

Christmas Tree Car Tag - 6.044" wide x 3.25" high.

Guest Designer at Die Cuttin Divas

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am happy to be sharing my card at Die Cuttin Divas this week as the guest designer! Many thanks to Georgiana for asking me! Challenge #269 features a pretty sketch. Playing with the sketch, I chose pretty K&Company patterned papers for the background papers. The card measures 4 1/4" wide x 5 1/2" high and is cut from cream Recollections cardstock.

Cricut Cartridges:
Spring Fling - Flower is cut 2.89" wide x 2.5" high from Colorbok Pearlescent pink and green papers. Cricut Midnight pen was used for drawing the lines on the flower and leaves.
Using Insert Shapes feature in Cricut Design Space, a 4" wide x 5 1/4" high rectangle was cut from the plaid paper for the card base mat. Green check paper is cut 3.1" wide x 4.25" high. The circle is cut 3.75" from the blue dot patterned paper. After aligning the circle on the mat, I cut off one edge of the circle so it will resemble the sketch. Edges of the papers were frayed a little before attachment.
Anna's Garden Cards and Embellishments - Warm Wishes Sentiment is printed on the 4" wide x 3" high patterned paper. This is used inside the card.

Sentiment Love is from CARDZ TV Encouraging Thoughts. Many thanks to Mary!
Pearls and a crinkle ribbon bow are added for the finishing touches. Thanks to Karen at Little Scrap Pieces for the pretty ribbons.

Inside the card.

I just noticed the word THE lacks part of the letter...glad I noticed the error and can make a correction before mailing the card!! It shows in Design Space, but pen did not make the mark. Technical difficulties, I guess!!

Check out all the pretty projects by the design team at Die Cuttin Divas. Hope to see you playing along with the sketch challenge.
Again, Thanks to Georgianna and design team for letting me be the guest designer and playing with this pretty sketch!

Thanks for your visits and comments!

Cooking With Cricut Guest Designer

I am very excited to be guest designer for Cooking With Cricut today! I was very surprised to receive the invitation and of course, loving the challenge blog, I am happy to be here with you! Cooking With Cricut is one of the first challenge blogs that I began participating in after I started my blog. I always look forward to the weekly challenge and participate as I can. If you have not visited the blog, you are missing out on a lot of fun! The Chefs are always cooking up beautiful and inspiring projects! I want to thank everyone at Cooking With Cricut for the honor of being a guest designer today!

My fun with the Cricut began in 2009 whenever I purchased the Expression. As most of you know I am a member of the Red Hat Society. I started scrapbooking our fun meetings and travels. That soon led to cards and blogging!! What fun! I am always buying red and purple paper. I enjoy finding a cartridge that has great cuts for my Red Hat friends. I was so happy to find Forever Young - hats, dresses, gloves, shoes, purses---perfect! Today, I am sharing a Tri-Shutter Card featuring some of the pretty cuts from Forever Young!

The card starts with a 5 1/2" x 12" piece of red cardstock. There is a great tutorial on SplitCoastStampers for making a Tri Fold Shutter Card. This card style is perfect for using your beautiful designer papers. I am using purple cardstock and the designer paper is K&Company Red Hat Society which I have been hoarding for some time. I find it very hard to find reds and purples. I have used several Cuttlebug embossing folders to add a bit of dimension. Swiss dots is used on the purple background papers. Do you notice the little purple flower on the hat? It is embossed with Bloom Dots and the hat (page 63 cut 1.50") is embossed with Swiss Dots. The purple gingham mat is embossed with Divine Swirls. The mat cut is actually the flower 3 on page 66 using the shift key and cut at 4.25" The flowers are on page 69, cut 1.25" and layers are pop-dotted.

With the card opened, you can see more of my selected cuts. The Cricut has really been chirping this week! I have used ten different images on this card plus the layer and shadow features! The shoes tag is found on page 54 and cut 1". I thought it was so cute and I just had to make room for it. DMC Memory Thread is used for the hanger and the tag is pop-dotted on the mat. Ooh la la cut .75"-page 57 and glasses cut .50"-page 47.

I used Model 14 on page 37 cut 3 1/2", cutting first in ivory and again in red. I trimmed the red hat and red shoes off and glued on the model. Dress is embossed with the Cuttlebug Textile folder. Shoes cut 1.75"- page 54, purse cut 1.75"-page 56, gloves cut 1.50-page 45. Of course, Red Hatters love bling-must have rhinestones! Lots of inking, ribbon and rhinestones from my stash!

This is an easy card to make but it does take time cutting out the mats and layers. Above photo is the card laying flat. Hope you enjoy! Again, many thanks to Cooking With Cricut for the great opportunity!

To see more projects using cuts from Forever Young, you can view Cricut Forever Young under Labels -left side bar of my blog!

Fantabulous Cricut Guest Designer - #1 DAD

I am super excited to be Challenge Me Monday Guest Designer at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog! It was such a surprise to be asked! FCCB is one of my favorite challenge blogs and I enjoy entering their challenges when I can. Thank you for the honor of being the guest designer and playing along with the Fantabulous Design Team!

The challenge is #1 Dad....make a project just for him. My dad is deceased and I wanted to make a card for my grandkids to give their dad. I struggle sometimes with masculine cards but I thought a baseball theme would be perfect for my family. Both younger grandsons play ball and their Dad is right there with them!

This card is a recessed window card which gives a shadow box look. A great tutorial can be found at SplitCoastStampers. The card starts with a 5 1/4" x 10 3/4 piece of cardstock. This is the size given in the video rather than the printable tutorial. The cardstock is scored at 5 1/4 and again at 5 1/2 which creates a little spine to help the card lay flat. Please view the video for complete instructions on making the window.
This photo shows the 1/4" recessed area.

Cricut Cartridges:
A Child's Year - Dad silhouette on page 40 cut 3" with black and again 3" blue paper using the shadow key.
Sports Mania - Play Ball on page 63 cut 1 1/4 in red. Using the layer feature and same size, the ball is cut in white.
Bat is on page 64 and is cut 2" with silver using the base cut, 2" with red using the layer cut and again 2 " using the blackout cut.
Plantin Schoolbook - Star on page 74 using the endcap feature. I keyed in #1 DAD. This was cut 3/4" in white and 3/4" in red using the endcap shadow key. To provide the Red stars on top, I cut red using the endcap shadow feature again--trimmed off the stars and glued to the white base. This is only my second time to use this feature and I love the way it turned out. I forget about some of the neat features on the cartridges.
Rest of the recipe:
Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots folder; lots of inking; Pop-dots; white gelly roll pen
For the inside of the card, I used Sports Mania, page 62. This is the background feature and is cut 4 1/2" in white. I hand cut the red mat at 4 3/4". Isn't that a great background! The cut-out is so cute! The kids can write a note and sign here. I covered the area that forms the recessed window with the baseball paper. I will add a photo of the kids on that area.

Now it is your turn to play along! Be sure to check out the design teams' projects and link your project for Dad at Fantabulous Cricut.
Again many thanks to FCCB for this opportunity! Hope you enjoy my project!

My Sheri Crafts -- Guest Designer

Thanks for stopping by today! I am so excited and yet a bit nervous!! Sheri asked me to be the guest designer at her challenge blog My Sheri Crafts this week. This is the first time for me to be a guest designer. Thank you so much Sheri for giving me this special opportunity!!
When Sheri told me this week's challenge theme was "All About Boys", I really got nervous!! What! No pink, lace, flowers, and all those things I love!! Ok, so it is Boys! I thought of my young grandsons and would you believe the first thing that came to my mind was a mud puddle!! Because I have limited Cricut cuts for boy/masculine themes and no mud puddles, I chose one of my favorite cartridges---A Child's Year!

It is the simple pleasures that often become our fondest memories!
The card is 5 x 6 1/2 white cardstock which is layered with a 5 x 6 1/2 piece of pretty stripe designer paper from Paper Pizazz Floral Backgrounds paper pad. Yes, I did say Floral! The boy with the dog is found on page 62 of Cricut A Child's Year cartridge..this is the shift key. It is cut at 3 1/2 inches. I also cut the shadow feature at the same size. The background mat is the card feature using the shift key and is cut at 5 1/2 inches from Brazzill paper. For dimension, I used pop-dots to mount the boy/dog image on the mat. Lot of inking! The phrase "Simple Pleasures" is from Country Life page 60 and is cut at 1 1/2 inches. I love that phrase and think it works well with A Child Year's cuts. The phrase is the only cut that is not from A Child's Year!

For the inside of the card, I used the boy/dog image on page 63. This was cut at 2 1/2 inches. I will be needing a birthday card, so I chose to use the phrase "Happy Birthday" found on page 71 of ACY. It was cut 2 inches.

I thought the little dog gift tag would be a nice addition to my gift. This is the tag feature found on page 62 and cut at 2 inches. (Notice the little dog in left hand corner on the inside of the card---it it the cut out piece from the tag.) The word "to" is found on page 74 and the word "from" is found on page 75. Each word was cut at 1/2 inch. For the tag tie, I used some blue fibers that was in a blog candy package from a sweet blogger friend! I just love it!

I hope you enjoy my "All About Boys" project!
Please visit My Sheri Crafts for great inspiration from the Design Team and enter your project in the challenge! Thanks again Sheri and Design Team!
