It has been  a busy summer with little time for cardmaking! Needing a birthday card for a friend, I made time to play with my Cricut Maker.

JGoode Designs - Sunflower is cut 2.98" wide x 3.563" high. Writing is using the Cricut Very Berry Medium Tip pen.

I am playing along with this week's sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I used my Fiskars hand cutter to cut the varying sizes of  plaid strips used for the background. Sizes are 1 strip at 1 1/4", 2 at 1", 1 at 3/4", 1 at 1/2", 1 at 3/8", and 2 at 1/4". I enjoyed working with this pretty sketch.
I love that pretty sunflower. The pen work adds so much detail to the flower.

Time To Celebrate..Happy Birthday

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

It has been awhile since I have posted on my blog. Today I am sharing a birthday card using a Cut and Emboss die that I recently purchased. Card is 5" x 6 1/2".

Anna Griffin Corner Pocket Dies - The white corner pocket is cut and embossed using my Cuttlebug machine. This set includes three dies. This die set is made for the Empress Embossing machine, but I have now cut and embossed two of the dies. The third die is too large for the Cuttlebug. Does that mean that I will have to buy an Empress?

Cricut Cartridges:
Insert Shape:
Card is cut 10" wide x 6.5" high from white cardstock. Yellow patterned paper is cut 4.75" wide x 6.25" high.
Anna's Window Box Cards - Time to Celebrate is cut 1.715" wide x 3.25" high. Two of the yellow roses with the small blue flowers are cut 2.153" wide x 2.75" high with one cut using flip feature. Middle rose is cut smaller, but I did not record size.
Anna's Vintage Florals - Iris is cut 2.89" wide x 4" high.
Anna's Soiree Lettering - Butterfly is 1.75" wide x .831" high.

Inside of Card!

Anna's Gracious Giftables  - Rose Boutonniere. Two of the yellow flowers are used inside card.
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards - Happy Birthday to You is written with the Cricut Bluebonnet pen on a  3.75" wide x 4" high white cardstock.

Hope you enjoy! Thanks for your visits and comments!

Happy Birthday

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I was excited to receive my Anna Griffin Corner Pocket Dies! Of course, my first card had to be pink! Card is 5" x 6 1/2" cut from Recollections pink cardstock. Patterned background paper is Cricut Anna Griffin Rose Medley.

Cricut Cartridges:
Shapes -  Changing the square shape to a rectangle, the card was cut from the pink cardstock at 10" wide x 6.5" high. Patterned paper for card base is cut 4.75" wide x 6 .25" high.
Anna's Roses - Roses are Print and Cut images. Two large roses (upper left rose and lower right rose) are cut 2.63" x 3.093" high. Rose in center is cut 2.346" wide x 2.75" high. Small rose on lower left side is cut 1.25" wide. I trimmed some of the stems to place the roses in position that I chose.
Anna's Window Ledge Cards - Happy Birthday Banner is cut 3.50" wide.
Anna's Fantastic FlipCards - Corner is cut 2.25" wide.

Cuttlebug:
Anna Griffin Matelasse - Folder is used on patterned paper mat.
Anna's Corner Pocket Dies - There are three dies in this set which are recommended for the Empress Machine. I was able to cut and emboss this rose die with the Cuttlebug machine. One of the dies is larger and may not work with Cuttlebug. Oops!

Banner, small rose, and middle rose are pop-dotted on card.

I am loving the looks of this card! Hope you enjoy!

Feel Better Soon

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have been playing along with the pretty sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this is what I came up with. The card base is from a package of purchased Recollections Ivory cards and envelopes that measures 5" x 6 1/2".  I used the 6 1/2" as the width of the card. The pretty patterned paper is from K&Company Susan Winget SW Harvest double-sided paper.

Cricut Cartridges:
Using Insert Shapes in Design Space the square is sized to 6.25" wide x 4.75" high rectangle for the card mat layer.
Anna's Elegant Embellishments 2 - Tag is cut 4.50" wide x 3.065" high using Recollections yellow and purple papers.
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards 2 - Sentiment "Feel Better Soon" is written on the yellow tag with the Cricut Midnight pen.
Flower Shoppe - 3D Flower #M3DAA8 Larger purple flower in the center is cut 1.50" wide and again at 1.25" wide. The two yellow and two smaller purple flowers are cut at 1.25" wide and again at 1.00" high. I sprayed each flower with a bit of water, crumpled the flower, and let dry before shaping and gluing together.

Cuttlebug Polka Dots folder is used on the patterned paper background for dimension.
Recollections pearls are added in center of each flower. Sentiment tag is pop-dotted on card.

The patterned paper pad has been in my stash for a long time. I like the results of the colors!
Hope you enjoy! Thanks for your visits and comments!

Cricut Cartridges:
Insert Shapes - Square sized to 6.25" wide x 4.75" high rectangle for the patterned paper used on base of card.

With Love

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a good crafting weekend! I found some playing time in the craft room to make this card. The premade white card measures 5" x 6 1/2". Patterned papers are scraps from some pretty K&Company paper pads. Solid pinks are Recollections and the solid greens are from Cricut.
Cuttlebug - With Love Embossing folder is used on the lower green strip of paper.
Cricut Cartridges:
J. Goode Design Flower Bouquet  - Tulip is cut 3.25" wide x 3.167" high. I used three shades of pink for the flower. Top section of larger flower is pop-dotted on the lower section. Leaves/stems are made with two shades of green.

Cricut Pens:
Wine fine point pen - pink papers; Sour Apple medium point 1.0 on green leaves and stems.

I distressed edges of the mat paper with scissors and inked the edges. Top right corner is turned down and coordinating paper is added under it. I hand cut the flower from lace and pop-dotted it in corner. Pearls from my collections. Pink inking added to card base.

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have enjoyed time in my craft room today and will share the card that I have just finished. Card measures 5" x 7" and I used pretty scrap papers from Anna Griffin. Cuttlebug:
Feel Better Soon (set of four) embossing folders --- Get well soon is embossed on the light pink paper. Needing a Get well card, I was inspired by the challenge at Cuttlebug Mania. I have so many embossing folders and never used some. I like the small sentiment!

Swiss Dots folder is used on the white mat.

Cricut Cartridges:
Anna's Window Ledge Card - Card is cut 10" wide x 7" high from white card stock.

Anna's Fantastic Flip Cards  - Roses cut 1.79" wide x 2.069" high. I cut 2 of the image. Butterfly cut 1" wide. Two images are cut with one cut on flip. These are print and cut images.
Using Insert Shapes - Square was changed to a 4.75" wide x 6.75" high rectangle to cut the floral background mat of the card.

White and green mats are pop-dotted on card. A white crinkle ribbon bow is added to the card. I used pink inking around the edges of paper.

Card for a Red Hat Lady

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am sharing another card made for a Red Hat Lady! Card measures 5" x 7" when folded. The double-sided purple/lavender card stock used for the base of card is from The Paper Company. It has red and purple fibers throughout the sheet. I have had this paper a long time and thought it would be perfect for a Red Hat Lady. Other papers are Recollections.

Darling Dress Greeting Card SVG was purchased from Dreaming Tree. You can purchase the SVG here. I cut images at sizes that were brought into Cricut Design Space with the Cricut Maker. Leo has a great video showing the construction of the card! This is a beautiful design which can be made with many different color and paper combinations!

Cuttlebug Kassie's Brocade embossing folder was used on the red papers of the dress.

Small gemstones are added for the necklace. A button from my Red Hat Lady stash is used on the inside corner. I combined variegated purple and red crinkle ribbons to make the bow.

Loving the looks of this one!

Happy Mother's Day

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

With Mother's Day fast approaching, I wanted to make a card for my daughter. Card measures 7" wide x 5" high. Cricut Red and green cardstock, Recollections Shimmer Cardstock, and Recollections black cardstock are used on the project.

I have Cricut Access but I noticed there are many free Happy Mother's Day images available this week in Cricut Design Space. If you need a last minute card, check out those free images!

Cricut Cartridges:
Using Shapes, I changed the square into a 7" wide x 10" high rectangle and attached the score line to make the card. Also using Shapes, I cut the white rectangle mat 6.87" wide x 4.87" high.
Best Mom Ever Phrases - Happy Mother's Day phrase is cut 6.62" wide x 4.62" high.

I used the left over negative piece of the papers as a template to position the red, green, and black cut out pieces in approximate position. This worked out good for me with out all the guess work of it lining up correctly.

I like how the card turned out! Hope you enjoy! Thanks for your visits and comments!

Red/ Purple Red Hat Lady

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am back with a pretty card for a Red Hat Lady! When the card first became available at Dreaming Tree, my thoughts turned to Red Hat Lady! I finally found time to play with this wonderful design.
Papers are Recollections, The Paper Company, and Colorbok. Of course in Red Hat Society fashion, colors are red and purple.

The Dreaming Tree - High Heel Greeting Card measures 5" high x 3.5" wide. A big Thank You to Leo and team for this awesome freebie design.  I will be making this design again. I am sure when the Red Hat Ladies see the card, each lady in our group will want one!

Cricut Cartridge:
Font is Chloe for the words Happy Birthday.  I was unable to get the provided font in the svg file to work correctly....probably something that I did wrong.

I added extra flower cuts to be able to use red and purple for the flowers. Purple rhinestones applied to flowers on card.

I love the results of the card! Hope you enjoy! Thanks for your visits and comments!

My First Collar Fold Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Looking at cards on Pinterest, I chose the Collar Fold Card to be the next challenge with my friend Cathy. I noticed this card style is also called Peek a Boo Card. Sometimes I get carried away just looking at the beautiful and inspiring cards. I should be using that time to actually make a card!

Needing a pretty double-sided paper for this card, I chose these pretty patterned papers from some K&Company paper pads.

Cricut Cartridges:
Anna's Window Box Cards - Sentiment You Are In My Thoughts
Anna's Window Ledge Cards - Roses cut 2.371" wide x 1.8" high. I cut off the white rose.

Easter Cards

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have looked at many images in Cricut Design Space trying to decide what I wanted to put on an Easter card. Remembering an Anna Griffin Cut and Emboss folder in my stash, this is what I decided to do. I liked the design so well, that I chose to make 2 similar cards using the same Cuttlebug folder. My First Circular Side Step Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

This is another fun card style that my friend Cathy challenged me to make. It is my first attempt at making the Circular Side Step Card. Several tutorials are available on Pinterest. I followed the tutorial at Beccy's Place. Thanks for the good instructions.

Paper is from Prima Tales of You &Me 12 x 12 double sided paper pad.

Cricut Cartridges:
Insert Shapes - Circle for the base of card is cut 6.5" x 6.5". I used a hand trimmer for cutting the cutting line and a scoreboard for the score lines.
Anna's Window Ledge Cards - Rose Group of 3 - 3.023" wide x 2.2" high. Single rose is clipped off of another image from same cartridge.

Sentiment is from Anna Griffin Fancy Flip Card kit.

Of course, I wanted pinks and frills. Lace is from Michael's Adhesive Trims. Burlap butterfly and pearls from my stash drawer. Green bow is DMC Memory Thread. Flowers are pop-dotted for dimension.

I like the way this turned out. I am really glad that I took the challenge and may try making another card.

I am sharing a sympathy card made for a lady who recently had a death in her family. This Double Dutch Fold Card is made following the tutorial at Splitcoaststampers. This is another unique card style that I challenged my friend Cathy to make.

Card base starts with a 4 3/16" x 9" cardstock. Dutch fold bottom is cut 2" x 8 1/2". I used Recollections purple and lavender cardstock. Pretty patterned paper is Anna Griffin cardstock.

Anna's Roses - I cut four of the Rose images at 1.5" wide x 1.759", with two images cut on Flip. I chose to use only three of the roses on project.

Easter Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am sharing an Easter card. Card measures 4.25" wide x 5.50" high. Papers are Recollections yellow, Recollections Shimmer Cardstock White gold, and Colorbok white.

In Cricut Design Space, I used the Insert Shape feature to add a square on the canvas. It was changed to 8.5" wide x 5.5" high rectangle, a score line added, and image cut from the yellow cardstock to make the card. Purple rectangle is cut 4" wide x 5.25" high.

Cricut Cartridges:
Picturesque -  Oval was sliced from the 4.104" wide x 5.345" high white rectangle.
Easter Egg Hunt Printables - Easter egg is Print and Cut at 1.856" wide x 3.673" high. It is printed on the shimmer paper and looks pretty. With the rainy day we are having, I was unable to get good photos.
Happy Easter Printables - Bunny is Print and cut at 1.484" wide x 1.556" high. It is pop-dotted on front of card.
For inside the card, Happy Easter is print and cut at 2.677" wide x 4. 097" high.

Cuttlebug Scrollwork embossing folder is used on the white mat.

My First Screen Divider Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
For this card, my friend Cathy challenged me to make a Screen Divider Card. This is another new card style for me. I chose to make a Spring birthday card for a friend. I looked at tutorials and card examples on Pinterest. I followed along with the video directions by Dawn O. Papers are Colorbok white, Recollections green, and Anna Griffin patterned paper.

Rather than cutting the card and panels using a hand cutter, I added the measurements in Cricut Design Space and let my Cricut Maker do its magic!

Cricut Cartridges:
Using Insert Shapes in Cricut Design Space, I added a square and sized it to 11" wide x 5 1/2" high. It is scored at 2 3/4", 5 1/2", and 8 1/4". Fold card in center, then outer sections back on itself.
Insert Shapes for the panels - 2.25" wide x 4" high for patterned paper panel, 2.42" wide x  4.15" high for the green panels.
Lacy Labels  - Label #M3D540 - I used a portion of the larger label of the group and the slice feature to remove the lower part of the four white sections. I did not have a suitable punch so I tried it with my Cricut.

Anna's Vintage Florals - Carolina 2 -Larger group of flowers, Clusters - white and pink group.
Anna's Vintage Phrases - Happy Birthday and Fun with Friends
Anna's Planner - Rose Dot Flag cut 2.25" wide x 1.859" high
Anna's Fantastic FlipCards - Butterfly 1.15" wide x 1.162" high

Martha Stewart Swirling Lace Edge Punch used on the top of the screen divider.

I like the way this turned out. Of course, I had to use my favorite colors - pink and green. I think it will be pretty displayed on a desk or tabletop. Hope you like it and maybe you are inspired to try this different card style.

Explosion Card For My Friend

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Card Style Challenge to my friend Cathy was to make an Explosion Card. I have made an Explosion Card before, but for today's card I followed a tutorial on Anna Griffin Inc. Facebook page. This card is 7" wide x 5" high. Other tutorials can be found on Pinterest. Papers are Anna Griffin.

Paper used for the explosion pop out is cut 10" x 10". This is used inside the card.

Cricut Cartridges:
Anna's Window Ledge Card - Card base is cut 7" wide x 10" high. The three rose group is used inside card.
Anna's Flourish Cards and Embellishments - Flourish is cut 6" wide x 2.978" high.
Anna's Roses -  Roses on the front of card. Double roses used inside the card.

Using a 1" x 12" strip of paper from the leftover paper of the explosion cut, I made a rosette for the front of card. Brad from my supply stash finishes the rosette.

Sentiment "For My Friend" is from one of Anna's card making kits. Pop-dots are used on front of card.

Cuttlebug Anna Griffin Matelasse embossing border is used on the green strip.

Inside the card:
Anna's Bridal and Baby Soirees- Bridal Doily is cut 3.50". I cut two of these.
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards 2  - Sentiment " With Love" is written with the Cricut Midnight pen on one bridal doily.

 Inside of Explosion Card.

I enjoyed making this card style. Hope you enjoy! Thanks for your visits and comments!
