Feel Better Soon

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have been playing along with the pretty sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches and this is what I came up with. The card base is from a package of purchased Recollections Ivory cards and envelopes that measures 5" x 6 1/2".  I used the 6 1/2" as the width of the card. The pretty patterned paper is from K&Company Susan Winget SW Harvest double-sided paper.

Cricut Cartridges:
Using Insert Shapes in Design Space the square is sized to 6.25" wide x 4.75" high rectangle for the card mat layer.
Anna's Elegant Embellishments 2 - Tag is cut 4.50" wide x 3.065" high using Recollections yellow and purple papers.
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards 2 - Sentiment "Feel Better Soon" is written on the yellow tag with the Cricut Midnight pen.
Flower Shoppe - 3D Flower #M3DAA8 Larger purple flower in the center is cut 1.50" wide and again at 1.25" wide. The two yellow and two smaller purple flowers are cut at 1.25" wide and again at 1.00" high. I sprayed each flower with a bit of water, crumpled the flower, and let dry before shaping and gluing together.

Cuttlebug Polka Dots folder is used on the patterned paper background for dimension.
Recollections pearls are added in center of each flower. Sentiment tag is pop-dotted on card.

The patterned paper pad has been in my stash for a long time. I like the results of the colors!
Hope you enjoy! Thanks for your visits and comments!

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today begins a new fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Design team sister Sarah is hosting this challenge and she chose "Let's Go 3D". Make anything that is 3D--nothing Flat this time. For my project, I made a teacup and saucer using my Cricut Explore and beautiful K&Company papers.

Cricut Cartridges:
Tags, Bags, Boxes, and More2 - Teacup is cut 10" wide x 10.39" high. Finished size of the cup rim is 3 1/4".
Elegant Edges - Circle scallop doily is cut 3.75" wide from white and blue solid papers.
Flower Shoppe - Flower is cut 1.75", 1.50", 1.25", 1.00", and .75" wide. After a little spritz of water and drying, the petals were shaped and all layers were glued together. A gold rhinestone is glued in center of flower.

Finishing touches are a gold trim left over from previous project which was glued to cup and saucer.

Folded Paper Frame Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am sharing a Folded Paper Frame card that I made using the tutorial at Split Coast Stampers. The frame starts with a 4 1/4" square of patterned paper. I chose pretty double-sided patterned papers from a K&Company pad which were left over from previous projects.  After scoring and folding, the square adds a 3D effect to the card. My cream card stock card measures 5" x 6 1/2".

Of course, I had to add pretty Cricut images to my card!

Cricut Cartridges:
Flower Shoppe - The flower is cut at 2", 1.75", 1.50", 1.25", and 1". After a spritz of water and partial drying, I slightly bent and curled the petals to form the flower. A gold gemstone is glued in the middle of the flower. I think the flower looks good in the frame.
Elegant Embellishments - Butterfly is cut 2" wide using 4 patterned papers.
Anna's Flourish Cards and Embellishments - Perfect Day Sentiment is printed with the Cricut Copper Pen on an inserted rectangle shape.
Elegant Edges - Heart scallop rectangle label is cut 4.53" wide.
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards - Happy Mother's Day sentiment is written on the heart scallop rectangle label with the Cricut Copper Pen. This image is used inside the card.

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 170 Thanksgiving

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
Happy Saturday everyone! Yay! Weekend!
It is time for another fun and inspirational challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Our design team sister Kristi has chosen Ch. 170 Thanksgiving. She asks that we make any type of Thanksgiving project.

Recently I was the random drawn winner at FCCB. The prize was a gift certificate from SVG Attic. That was my first time to select SVG files. I am so happy with the files that I chose. Thank you again SVG Attic for your sponsorship. One of the collections that I chose was SDS Pilgrims Prayer. Today I am sharing the pilgrim hat from that collection. I am pleased with the way this project turned out.

I chose to add some flowers from the Cricut Cartridge Flower Shoppe. I cut 4 varying sizes, 4", 2", 1.5" and 1". I also used some Cricut leaves that were left over from a previous project. Ribbon bow and twine are from my stash. Patterned papers are from scrap stash.

Please visit My Sheri Crafts to see all the pretty cards/projects made by the design team and our guest designer. For more information, please visit the individual blogs. Now it is your turn to play along with us with your Thanksgiving project.

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 109 Mother's Day

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Hi Friends! It is time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts. Our talented Sandy chose Mother's Day as the theme for Challenge 109. She asked us to show what makes your Mother so unique. Maybe it is frills and lace, a sense of humor....show us in your card/project.

This is my first time to try the SplitCoastStampers's tutorial for a Diamond Origami Fold Card. The card style is so unique and with the pretty flower patterned papers, it is perfect for my Mom who loves flowers!
If you try the tutorial for the card, please note that on Step 2 the score lines should be 3 1/4" and 5 1/2" not the 3" and 5 1/2" given in the written instructions. That change is noted in one of the comments on the first page.

Cricut Cartridges:
Flower Shoppe - Page 13 - Scallop 4 is cut 2.25" and 2". Oops, I think Scallop 1 was 2".
Page 22 - Ruffle 5 is cut 1". I used 5 of these leaves.
Wedding - Hearts cut 1.5" using the basic and blackout images.
Mother's Day 2010 - Happy Mother's Day is cut 3".

Open view of card!

Martha Stewart Scroll Lace Corner punch is used on the rectangle mat. Ribbon is from stash. Lots of inking! Paper is double-sided K&Company. I enjoyed making this unique card and know that I will have to try it again.

Stop by My Sheri Crafts and view all the pretty Mother's Day projects by the talented design team and our guest designer for this challenge. For more details on the projects, please visit the individual blogs. Don't forget to show a little love - we love comments too!

Now it is time for you to join in our fun with a Mother's Day card/project showing us what makes your Mother unique. Remember several Ooh la la awards will be given and one person will be chosen to be our next guest designer! We look forward to seeing your work!

My First Double Z Fold Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Thanks for stopping by! As I announced earlier, I am so excited to be on the BBTB2 Design Team! Today I am sharing the Mother's Day card that I submitted for the design team call!
This is my first attempt at the Double Z Fold Card. The card starts with a  5 1/4" x 12" Bazzill purple cardstock. Using my Martha Stewart scoreboard, it is scored at 2", 4", 8", and 10". The second score is folded in and the first score line is folded back. Repeat the folds on the other side and your card is ready for decorating. A great video and written instructions are available at SplitCoastStampers for this card!
Designer papers are K&Company.

Using a 1 3/8" strip of the purple cardstock, I made a band for the card. The Martha Stewart Lace Trim Doily was used on one side of the designer paper. Lace was gathered and stitched to form a doily behind the Cricut flower.

Cricut Cartridges:
Flower Shoppe - Flower on page 16 cut at 2.5". I used Fun 1, Fun 2, and Fun 4 image cuts.
Mother's Day 2010 - Happy Mother's Day is cut 2.5".

Cuttlebug Folder is With Love

Other Supplies:
Ribbon, pearls and inking.

I am really pleased with this card style and will try it again soon. The size of the folded card is 5 1/4' x 4" which will be easy for mailing. However with the dimensional flower, it will have to be in a box.

Challenges:
My Craft Spot - Ch. 54 Mother's Day

My Sheri Crafts Ch. 84 April Showers Bring May Flowers to Mom

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Yay! It is Saturday and time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Challenge 84 is April Showers Bring May Flowers to Mom! Time to celebrate those special ladies in our lives! We are asked to create a Mother's Day card/project and add flowers!

My card is 5"x 7" white cardstock. Designer papers are K&Company Sweet Nectar Speciality Paper. I was inspired by a sketch from PageMaps June 2008.

Cricut cartridges:
Flower Shoppe - Page 17. The flower is called sunflower but I thought it would accent the flower in top left corner of the paper. I used image 1, 2, and 4 each cut at 3". Page 22 -- Mum leaf cut 1.5". I used a water spritz and crunched the flower cuts to make the flower.
Florals Embellished - Page 51 - Phrase Mom cut at 1".

Other supplies include Offray yellow ribbon, Recollections gemstone, and inking.

Be sure to stop by My Sheri Crafts and see all the gorgeous projects for Moms that our guest designer and talented design team have created for your inspiration. We appreciate your visits and comments at our individual blogs! Now it is your turn to make a Mother's Day project--remember to add flowers! Hearts of Love

Welcome to Glenda's Cards

I have been so busy trying to finish Valentine cards that I have been unable to post before Valentine's Day. Today I am sharing the Valentine card made for my daughter! Card is 6 1/2" x 5" cut from white Colorbok cardstock. I saw a cute card sketch recently at CPS-Card Sketches that I wanted to try. I did not have time until now to try it so I missed the challenge. After adding extra embellishments, this is my play with the sketch.
Designer paper is K&Company Kelly Panacci Valentine paper pad. I have enjoyed working with this pretty double-sided paper for my Valentine cards this year. Guess who bought another pack of this pretty paper while it was available! You may be seeing more cards with these papers!

Cricut Cartridges:
Love Struck - Heart
Flower Shoppe - Flower
Ribbons and Rosettes - Page 35 - Heart border (White strip under the heart). I hand cut a piece of the red paper to place behind it.

I cut the small sentiment banner and stamped Happy Valentine's Day using a dollar stamp from Michael's. Red Heart gemstones were added. You can see a tutorial for the 3D Pop-up Sentiment Banner that Melanie shared at Fantabulous Cricut.

Ribbon is from my stash!

Shaped Valentine card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards! Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Valentine's Day! Today I am sharing a Valentine card made using a card feature from a Cricut cartridge. I like the pretty shape of the card and the overlay cut with the heart opening.
Cricut Cartridges:
Life's a Party - Page 62  Card feature and the mat are cut at 5" using the Cricut Craft Room. I was so surprised to see this pretty card on this cartridge! I need to take a closer look at some of my cartridges!
For some reason, I was unable to hide the little fold lines on the card. However, the lines are only slightly noticeable after the mat was glued on.
Flower Shoppe - Flower -Second image on 4th row cut 1.75" and again at 1.50". First image on 1st row cut 1.75".
Home Decor - I sized the word "Love" to fit inside the heart and did not record the actual size.
I used Martha Stewart inking around the edges. Tiny Recollections pearls were placed around the heart opening.
White Colorbok cardstock was used for the card base. Designer Paper is K&Company Kelly Panacci Valentine. I love this paper and have been using a lot from this pad. Guess who bought another pad of this same paper this weekend!! I will hoard it for awhile!!

Make A Wish Birthday Card - Flower Shoppe

Welcome to Glenda's Cards and thank you for stopping by today!

My white card is 5" x 6 1/2' and is layered with a 4 3/4" x 6 1/4" patterned paper from ColorBok. I like the vintage look of the papers in this pack. Sometimes the paper is so pretty that it can stand alone, but I do enjoy adding Cricut cuts to make it more personal.

I am enjoying the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge. I thought I would check out You Tube to get more ideas and was pleased to see that Kimberly at My Craft Spot has some great videos sharing techniques of making flowers with the Flower Shoppe cartridge. To see her videos, look for Sentimental Scrapper.
I was inspired by the crumpled flower by Kimberly. I used Scallop 4 on page 13 and cut two of the images. I worked in the Cricut Craft Room--think the flower was 2.5 and 2.25. The center is Basic 4 on page 12 cut at 2.5. I get carried away in the CCR and forget to write down the actual sizes. I spritzed the cut papers with water, crumpled, and let dry. Edges are slightly inked. The layers are glued together and pop-dotted on the mat. This is my first try spraying water on a flower but I am pleased with the results of the flower. I will be making more!

Cricut Cartridges:
Flower Shoppe - Flower Scallop 4
Elegant Edges - Eyelet 3 page 68 --Oblong image cut at 3.00w x 3.861 h. It is embossed with the Cuttlebug Script folder. Small pearls are glued in the centers.
Birthday Bash -  Phrase "Make a Wish" on Page 52 cut 1.833w x .472h. I love the banner look on the paper and thought that was a great place for the sentiment!

Hope you enjoy my card!

My Sheri Crafts Ch # 74 Decorate for Christmas

Welcome to Glenda's Cards! Thanks for stopping by because it is time for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts! This week we are Decorating for Christmas and ask that you create an ornament or home decor item for Christmas.
For my project I decorated a wreath to hang on my door. The green 15 inch wreath was purchased at The Dollar Tree. To add more thickness and character, I added several little flower/pine cone picks that I have had for years..another one of those after Christmas clearance that I had forgotten about!
I downloaded the Cricut Craft Room application and have been playing around with the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge! This is my first project using the CCR and I am pleased with the flower cuts.
Cricut Cartridges
Flower Shoppe - The two green pattern flowers are using the Basic 2 and Basic 4 images on page 12 cut at 3.25".  I did not record the size for the center Basic1.
I used the Sunflower images on page 17 for the three red/cream flowers but two centers are cuts from image Basic1.
The flower at the top of the wreath is using the Ruffle images on page 15. I did not record these sizes...as I was working with the sizing of images.
Winter Woodland - Joy on Page 78 was cut at 5".

Be sure to visit My Sheri Crafts to see the lovely projects by the design team. We look forward to seeing your ornaments or home decor items for Christmas. Remember one person will be chosen to be the next guest designer and Ooo La La awards will be given.

I am also sharing my project at the following challenges.

Fantabulous Cricut - Ch# 81 - Decor and More

Wow! Monday again and time for another fun challenge at Fantabulous Cricut! Challenge # 81 is Decor and More. We are asked to create a project to hang on the wall--can be vinyl, wall hanging, etc. My thoughts were to make a type of wreath/wall hanging and this is my results! I want to surprise some of my Red Hat sisters with this little creation and I am using reds and purples rather than traditional colors for Halloween.

The base is cut from black cardstock at 10.50" using the Cricut Essentials cartridge which is preloaded on the E2. The scallop doily image is on page 37. For added strength and stability, I hand cut a piece of kraft cardboard which had been marked at 10" with a plate and glued the cardboard to the main cut. The cardboard was recycled from a scrapbooking kit. When I found the purple spider web paper in a K&Company pack during my recent shopping trip to Michael's, I just had to buy it for my background!

The flowers are made using Cricut Flower Shoppe. I did a search on You Tube on this cartridge and found a great video by MargaretsCrafts. The flower is the mum on page 21 and uses varying sizes for the layers of petals. Leaves are on page 22. I chose to use less layers thus making a smaller flower on the witch hat.
Cricut Happy Hauntings is used for remaining cuts.
Page 54 - Witch Hat cut 5 1/2" from purple gingham and the image is repeated using white cardstock for added thickness on the hat.
Page 38 - Boo is cut 1 1/4" using the phrase feature- regular and shadow.
Page 65 - Flourishes are cut using the Spooky Font feature on page 65 at 1 1/4". One image was cut using flip feature.
Cuttlebug Folder- Swiss Dots used on the red layer of hat.
For a little Red Hat flair, I added gemstones and feathers. Do you see the little spider!
Lots of inking! Hat, spider, and flower are pop-dotted. A loop of red ribbon is glued to the back for hanging.

Hope you enjoy my project! Now it is your turn to play with us at FCCB. Stop by and see all the fun creations by the design team. Remember the deadline to enter the challenge is midnight Sat. Oct. 15th. As always, be sure to include a Cricut cut!

I am sharing at Crafty Sprouts Color Challenge--Red and Black and Slimy Green. You can use any theme and you must use at least 2 of the colors.
