Happy Birthday Shaker Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I thought Spring had sprung in our area, but it is much cooler today! Nice day to stay inside and play with the Cricut machine! Today I am sharing my first attempt at a shaker card. Needing a birthday card for one of my Red Hat Lady friends, I was excited to play with red and purple. I was inspired to use sequins by the FCCB blog but would you believe I had to buy sequins! I like the way this turned out so I will probably use sequins again!

My white cardstock card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Patterned paper is from a Red Hat Society paper pack that I have had for ages! Solid papers are Recollections scraps from previous projects.

Cricut Cartridges:
Cindy Lou - Frame is cut 3.50" wide x 3.02" high. I actually cut two frames, one from red paper and the one from purple paper. I chose to use the purple frame and I cut the red flower segment out of the red frame and placed it on the purple frame. I could not find any acetate paper so I hand cut a piece from a scrapbook page protective cover. The light purple paper was hand cut for the backing of the frame. Red and purple sequins are used inside the frame.
Classic Font - Thinking of You is cut 2.75" wide. I lost the two little dots for the i's and chose to use two sequins. Works for me!
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards - Happy Birthday Friend is written with a red Precise V5 Pilot pen on a 3.75" square.

Fall/Thanksgiving Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

As Thanksgiving is fast approaching, I have been working on a Fall/Autumn/Thanks/Thanksgiving card. I like to make cards that can be used for several occasions. My card is made using one of Mary's pretty sketches at CARDZ TV. These sketches are so fun to work with and I can use scrap papers from previous projects. I have so much paper and I have tried not to purchase any new until I used more of what papers I have on hand. Do you know how hard that is--not to buy paper!!

The base of card is cut from Kraft Cardsdtock. Card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" when folded. Patterned papers are K&Company. Solid cream paper is from Recollections

Cricut Cartridges:
Thanksgiving - Pumpkin is cut 3.25" wide x 1.27" high. Leaves cut 2" wide x .68" high.
Botanicals - Wheat is cut 1" wide x 1.31" high.
Cricut Classic Fonts - Thanks is cut 2.86" wide x .75" high.

Birthday Card - Boot

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I enjoy making birthday cards! After viewing the cute sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches for this week, I am playing along with the sketch for this birthday card. Card base is brown cardstock and measures 5" x 6 1/2". The pretty patterned papers are from My Mind's Eye Simply Beautiful paper pad..paper that I have had for a long time.

Cricut Cartridges:
Old West - I bought this cartridge several years ago and this is my first time to use it. Boot is cut 2.75" high. The cut image leaves little cut marks so I tried to make little dashes using the Gelly Roll white pen. The marks were so hard to see on the brown paper. Not so perfect, but after all it is a handmade card! Lasso is cut 1.25" wide. Two boots are used inside the card--those were cut 1.75" high.
Just Because - Just Kickin' Back is cut 2.75" wide.
Cricut Classic Font - Happy Birthday is cut 4.25" wide. It's Your Day is cut 3" high. Both phrases are used inside the card.

Martha Stewart Ribbon Loop edge punch is used on the mat inside the card.

Cuttlebug:
Swiss Dots folder is used on the background mat under the boot.
Diamonds in the Rough folder is used on the two mats.

Red Hat Lady Birthday

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I made this card for one of my friends who is also a Red Hat Lady! It has been awhile since I have played with red and purple and I enjoyed working on this card!

Cricut Cartridges:
Christmas Kitsch - The present card is cut 5 1/2" from red Recollection paper and the liner is purple. It was fun to make this card using a different theme than Christmas. You may want to review some of the nice card features on the cartridges.
Heritage - Hat on stand is cut 3" wide.
Cricut Classic Font - It's Your Day is cut 2.07" wide x 2.28" high.
Storybook - Birthday Girl is cut 4.75" wide.
Gypsy Wanderings - Shoe is cut 2.45" wide x 1.71" high. I cut two shoes--one is used on front of envelope and second shoe is on the back side of envelope.
I made the purple card using Martha Stewart Scoreboard. The purple floral embellishment is from Recollections.

Inside of card!

Thanks for your visit!

Tea Time

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today's card is inspired by the challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. Challenge 169 is Let's Have Tea! The colors in the following lovely photo must be used and the project must include flowers and a tea theme.

Lovely photo inspiration

I chose to use one of my favorite card cuts from Cricut Damask Decor cartridge which is a tea pot card. The card image is found on page 61 and is cut at 4.75" from K&Company double-sided paper. The little tea cup image is on the same page. Just love these papers!

Partial open view of card!
Other Cricut Cartridges include:
Mother's Day Bouquet - Flower is left over from a previous project.
Classic Font - Inside of card - Page 73 Thinking of you is cut 1.25"

Other supplies include lace, pearls, and flower from my stash. Lots of inking. The ribbon is from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces.

Hope you enjoy my card! I love the Shabby Chic look and continue to work on my designs. Maybe one day I will be better with this design style! Thanks for stopping by!
