Dahlia Fold Flower

I enjoy making the Dahlia Fold flower and thought I would share a card made recently.

After watching a great tutorial on SplitCoastStampers  for the Dahlia Fold flower, I was excited to try this technique. Used K&Company Life's Journey double-sided paper and Miss Elizabeth's vellum from my stash.
Storybook cartridge - scallop background behind flower. Also I cut the circles using Storybook--circle is an accent/blackout feature, letter K. I cut each circle at 1 1/4 inch. (Cut 9 circles--8 for the flower and 1 for the base of flower) This makes a 2 1/2 flower.

Martha Stewart - lace heart edge punch
Cuttlebug- Two of the With Love borders.
Pearls, doily and pop-dots.

Autumn Card

Wanted to share with you this card that I made recently using one of RAQ's Card Challenge sketches on the Circut forum. Looking at the sketch and trying to find papers took awhile, but whenever I came across these pretty papers, I chose an Autumn theme.

Cart used is Stretch Your Imagination---Leaf is cut on Silhouette and Blackout features. Autumn is cut on Regular, Layer and Shadow features.
To add dimension, the small cut background papers were run through the cuttlebug using the Diamonds in the Rough folder. Pop dots were used and MS ink.

Thanks for looking!

In Black & White with One More Color--Jitterbuggin' Challenge

I enjoy working with Sherri's sketches and challenges, so I am sharing another card that was made for Jitterbuggin' Challenge- Sketch 10, July 22, 2010.  Sherri asked us to use black and white only with one accent color of our choice, use a punch and of course, use a cricut cut.
For my card, I chose several intricate and pretty hearts from Love Struck, Wedding and Home Decor - hoping maybe for a vintage feel. Sentiment is also from Home Decor.
Punches: Corner rounder and Martha Stewart Embossed Pop-up Daisy.

My accent color is a pretty hot pink pearlescent paper...I had a lot of trouble photographing the card. All pink paper is same sheet, but in the pics, it looked different shades!

Enjoy!
