Shamrock Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

With all the pretty Make It Now projects available in Cricut Design Space, I find it hard to decide which one to try first. With St. Patrick's Day fast approaching this week and needing one more card,  I chose to use this pretty Shamrock Card. Card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and is cut from white card stock. Patterned papers are DCWV Fresh Floral Stack.

Cricut Cartridges:
Make It Now Shamrock Card-- I followed the instructions given for the cutting and some of the assembly. Two shamrocks are cut. Edges of the top shamrock are slightly curled inward and then it is placed on the second shamrock using foam squares. The button is added with DMC embroidery thread and then I made a small bow. I made a goof with one of the shamrocks and cut two more. I added the extra one inside the card.
Family Album - Wanting to add a bit more interest to the top of card and make it my card, I added the small pendants and clover from the Lucky Scrapbook Page. After ungrouping the images, the pendants were cut at 1.50" wide x 1.33"high. Note: These images are not included with the Make It Now instructions.
Designer's Calendar - St. Patrick's Day is cut 3" wide. This is used inside the card!

I cut the plaid background paper at 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" and the white background paper at 5 1/8" x 3 7/8".
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder is used on the white paper.

Lattice Box

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am sharing a little lattice box/basket that I am just now able to post. Past few days around here have been rather busy! I missed a couple of challenges that I was playing along with, but that happens sometimes!

Cricut Cartridges:
Tags, Bags, Boxes & More2 - Lattice box is cut 11.50" wide x 5.48" high from white Colorbok card stock.
Spring Fling - Flower is cut 3" wide using pink and green papers. Sweet Spring is cut 2" wide from the same papers. I cut two of each image so each side of the box has an image. Cricut Midnight pen was used for the drawing.

 Side view of Box

The two crinkle ribbon bows are from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces. Thanks Karen for the pretty ribbons! I added some iridescent shreds to the inside of box and some peppermint candy. Looks like someone has been eating my candy!

I am using the little box for Spring now but with Easter also in the month of March, I can add Easter candy for a different treat. I will have a dual purpose box with this little project!

With a Thankful Heart

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

This past week we were drenched with heavy rains -  11.5 inches of rain in my community. I live in a low lying area beside a canal which overflows during heavy rains. After two rain events of water going in my house many years ago, a levee was built surrounding our property. A pump was installed to pump water out and quite often we have to use a tractor/pump system to help out. Thankfully I was blessed that no water got in my house. Unfortunately, nearby towns and cities received 20.5 inches of rain. Homes and businesses are flooded, roads and the interstate have been impassable. I am so thankful to see the sunshine today!! My prayers are with all the families that have suffered loss.

I am sharing a thank you card today using the pretty sketch at Paper Play Sketches. The card is 5" x 6 1/2" white cardstock. Patterned papers are Momenta Textured and Double-Sided papers. Solid papers are from scrap stash.

Cricut Cartridges:
Spring Fling - Flower Branch is cut 2.50" high. Cricut Midnight pen is used for the drawing. I like the look of this flower branch.
Bits and Pieces - Banner is cut 4.35" wide x 1.60" high.

I hand cut the two sentiment mats. With a Thankful Heart is from CardzTV Heartfelt Wishes. Thank you Mary for my recent win! Love these stamps!

Martha Stewart Embossed ZigZag is used on the lower piece of paper.

Finishing touch is a crinkle ribbon bow from Little Scrap Pieces. Karen, I love the ribbons that I recently won!

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 177 Spring Fever

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today begins the new challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Challenge 177 is Spring Fever.  As Spring quickly approaches, Design team sister Peachy asked us to make a Spring related card or project. I always love the pretty blooming flowers of Spring, so I chose to make a card with flowers.

Cricut Cartridge:
Dimensional Scenes - Pretty Posies
After viewing the Poises Dimensional Card in Cricut Design Space, I wanted to give it a try. It is cut 14" wide x 10.96" high which includes an envelope. Ten colors of paper are used which can take a little while to make the choice of papers. Referring to the example card, I used similar colors but added more pink and burgundy. Most of you know that I love working with pink! I did not add dimensional foam dots between layers..just glued them. With so many layers of colors, there is still a dimensional look.

The card measures 5 1/2 x 4 1/4". Card base and envelope are cut using Keepsake Essentials- Reversible papers. The darker blue shade is used for the card and the lighter blue shade for the envelope. Other papers are from the scrap stash.

Although my card is not made using the Make It Now feature, I have noticed a card is now available in the Make It Now feature.

Visit My Sheri Crafts to see all the beautiful Spring projects by our talented design team and guest designer. For more information, visit the individual blogs! Now it is your turn to play along with us! We look forward to seeing your pretty Spring projects!

Iris Folding Clover

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
It has been quite some time since I added Iris Folding on a card and I wanted to play with all that folded paper. My first Iris Folding card can be found Here. I searched through my papers for patterned St. Patrick's Day papers for the clover but found only two papers. I chose to go with different shades of solid green. Card is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" cut from green card stock.
Cricut Cartridges:
Designer's Calendar - Using Cricut Design Space, I cut the clover shape opening in the white paper at 2.75" wide. I used the free square template at Circle of Crafters for the placement of the different colors of paper on the clover. This pattern has been donated to the public domain.
Basic Shapes - White layer is cut 4" wide x 5.25" high.
Phrases - Happy St. Patrick's Day is cut 3.75" wide.
A Memory Thread bow and green rhinestones are added for a finishing touch to the card. With all the folded papers under the openings, it does make the card a bit bulky.

Cut It Up - Ch. 91 St. Paddy's Day
Decorate to Celebrate - Ch. 5 Anything Goes
DL.ART  - Ch. 175 Frog and/or use color Green
