Non traditional Valentine colors

It is hard for me to make a Valentine card without using some pink or red! However for this week's challenge at Jitterbuggin', we are to use non-traditional colors- no pink and red, can use any sketch, and as always use our Cricut! I love Cricut Wild Card cartridge and always find great sentiments on it. I have never tried many of the shaped cards on the cartridge and thought this would be an opportunity to try something different. The heart shape card is found on page 67. I used the card feature, frame, and blackout, each cut at 5 inches. The sentiment Be My Valentine is cut at 5 3/4 inches....wanted it larger than the 5 inch cut. I bought the Cuttlebug folder Animals (4 in pack) on clearance some time back and have never used it. When I saw the cute little animals with hearts, I chose to use this as main image in the heart. I lightly inked it after I ran the paper through the folder.

The double-sided designer papers are K&Company. Although the paper used for the front of the card is a double-sided paper, I cut the blackout so that the beige patterned paper would be seen through the heart dots on front of card. The paper you see on the inside of the card is the reverse side of the beige patterned piece. The larger rust color heart is a portion of the heart frame cut that was not used on the front of the card. I also cut the heart frame a smaller size and used the smaller heart beside the rust heart.

Although not pink, I am pleased with the results of my non-traditional Valentine card. I think it has a bit of vintage feel. What do you think?

Hope you enjoy!!
