Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
We say good bye to 2011 and Hello 2012! Today begins a new and fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts. Challenge 76 is Time For A Change and we are asked to create a card/project with a clock represented. I chose to do a New Year's card!
My card is 5" x 7" made from black cardstock. The pretty background paper is from K&Company Brenda Walton Designer Mat Pad. The double-sided pages are 4.75" x 6.75" and are too pretty to cut so I chose the larger size card. This paper pad is one that was bought on clearance after Christmas 2010 that I have been hoarding.
Cricut Cartridge is Celebrate with Flourish. The images are the first two on the first line. The clock is cut at 2.75". I hand cut a circle of vellum paper to place underneath the clock rather than doing a shadow cut. I really like the looks of the vellum. The clock is pop-dotted on the card.
Happy New Year is cut at 1.25" from silver paper and the layer cuts are the same red and black papers to match the clock. These papers were in my stash.
Cuttlebug Folder: Swiss Dots used on the hat.
I added some red gemstones in the left hand corner of the card.
Now it is your turn to play along with us! Be sure to visit My Sheri Crafts and see all the lovely projects by the design team! We enjoy your visits to each of our blogs and appreciate your kind comments! A clock must be represented on your project. Remember one person is chosen to be the next guest designer and several Ooh la la awards are given.

Glenda, what a wonderful card! The vellum paper reminded me of frosted glass.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, Glenda. I can see why you were hoarding the paper - so pretty. I love the way you've arranged the elements.

This card is so cute - I love the colors! :) If you added a dash of glitter to the card it would be a perfect submission for the glittery New Year's challenge happening over at my blog this week. Thanks for sharing!

Like your clock card & use of the vellum. Was inspired by your clock card. Entered mine today 1/8. I had difficulty cutting the words Happy New Year on the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge from it tearing the letters so I used a calendar background I printed online. Ck out my #2 entry in My Sheri Crafts #76 Time for A Change Ch#76.
