Tea Time - A Child's Year Teapot

For My Sheri Crafts design team project, please click here or scroll down!

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

A couple of my other crafting loves include cross-stitch and ribbon embroidery! My walls are loaded down with many of my framed works. I love how little X's can make such a beautiful picture! Now it seems paper crafting keeps me busy! Whenever I saw the lovely photo inspiration at The Shabby Tea Room, my eyes were naturally drawn into the gorgeous cross stitch piece. I did not have time to cross-stitch a little bread cover so I chose to do a small ribbon embroidery spider web rose on the linen fabric. I think the small bread cloth works good with my tea pot theme.

Card measures 6 1/2" x 5". Papers are some of my favorite K&Company papers.
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots is used on the blue lid of the tea pot.
Just Rite Stamps - Times New Roman Font 15 pt. is used for TEA TIME.
Martha Stewart Ribbon Loop edge is used on the pink mat. Another piece of pretty lace is used on top of the mat.
Cricut Cartridges:
A Child's Year -  P. 67 Tag feature.. The teapot is actually a card itself and is pop-dotted on the main card. Perfect way to add an additional sentiment.
Mother's Day Bouquet - Flower is leftover cuts from a previous project. I added the flower to a gathered lace rosette for the center of the tea pot.

Pearls, lace, and crinkle ribbon are from my stash. I was hesitant about the placement of the tea pot on the card, but I am pleased with the tilted look!

Formal Occasion Dress

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

It has been awhile since I have posted, but I found a little time to work on a shabby chic card. Inspired by the photo inspiration challenge at The Shabby Tea Room, this is the results.
Card is 5" x 6 1/2" using some pretty K&Company papers and other papers from my scrap stash.

Cricut Cartridge is Formal Occasion. The dress is on page 27. I trimmed some pretty areas off a wider piece of lace and added it to make the fancy dress. Small pearls complete the dress. A leftover piece of the lace is used in the lower left corner of the card. Dress is pop-dotted on the script mat.
Spellbinders Nestabilities - Label 10 is used for the scrip paper mat which is pop-dotted on the card.
Spellbinders Eyelet Circles is used for the sentiment mat.
Just Rite Dare to Dream set - sentiment - Dare to Dream
Just Rite Custom Dies- Corners at the top of card. Yes, I hid the right corner with the sentiment..could not find a place to put that mat!!
Recollections floral embellishments accent the pretty papers. I like to make my flowers using the Cricut machine but these bought flowers seemed to be a good choice today.
A crinkled ribbon bow and a Wimpole Street Creations fabric doily complete the look. I discovered a bag of these doilies that I had purchased many years ago from a fabric shop at a very good discount price. Thought it was time to use one!

Have a Lovely Day

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have been playing with the Cricut and pretty laces again! Inspired by the photo and the design team's pretty work at The Shabby Tea Room, this is my results! Card is 5" x 7" cut from white Colorbok cardstock. The pretty papers are from DCWV The French Country Stack.  As you can see, some of these papers are glittered. Edges of the papers are distressed to give a shabby chic look.
Cricut Cartridges:
Formal Occasion - Page 45 Fan is cut 3" from white and the pink paper. I have been wanting to try the fan image for some time and thought this would be a good focal point for the card. I ran the pink paper through the Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder. A strip of lace is gathered and glued around the edges. After the lace was attached, I found another piece of lace that I wanted to add. I hand cut the pretty lace and layered it over the pink paper. That is right! I covered up most of the embossing- but I do like the looks of the fan now. Fan is pop dotted on the card for dimension.
Mother's Day Bouquet - Flower 8 is cut 1.5' and 1.25" from white card stock. Flower is attached on the fan. In the center of the flower is a pretty gold metal filigree button with a pink stone.
Just Rite Stamps- Be Happy Set - "Have a Lovely Day" is stamped with Biscotti ink.
Recollections - Gold rhinestones are added on the fan and on the lace corner.
A white crinkled ribbon bow completes the look!
Photo inspiration

Challenge:
The Shabby Tea Room - Ch. 178 Lazy Days. Use colors from the photo and include a metal element.
I incorporated the blue, green, and white colors. Also gold from drapes and I used pink for the flower. Hope I did not use too much pink! Metal button!

Now who wants to relax in such a pretty setting as in the photo and maybe use the lacy fan!

Cherish the Memories

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Happy Summer! We have been having hot weather so it has been a good time to stay inside and craft!
My card is cut 5" x 7" from cream cardstock. Papers are from a beautiful DCWV paper pad. Love the pinks and greens! The background paper and the pink paper for the rectangle mat have some glitter but my camera did not capture the glitter.
Cricut Cartridges:
Elegant Edges - Page 65 Flower 3- Border is cut .78" using Cricut Craft Room. The pink and green scallop mats are cut 3.75".
Mother's Day Bouquet - Flower 3 is cut 2.25, 2, and 1.5".
Cuttlebug - Swiss dots on the mats and border
Just Rite - Custom Dies for the sentiment block
Just Rite - Cherish the Memories Nested Sentiments
Martha Stewart Branch punch for the greenery

Lace from my stash is slightly gathered to create ruffles around the mat. Other supplies include Recollections Pearls and Versa Magic Gingerbread inking.
Ribbon is blog candy from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces.

Napkin Fold Card

For BBTB2 design team project, click here.
For My Sheri Crafts design team project, click here or scroll down.

Welcome to Glenda's Cards
I have been wanting to make a Napkin Fold card using reds and purples! Of course, it is for a Red Hat Lady! When I saw the current challenge at Just Rite Inspiration is to use more than one fold on a card, I got busy!
The card begins with a 12" x 12" piece of red Recollections paper. Purple paper is Bazzill and the purple check is Recollections. The paper inside the card is DCWV Posies Glitter print. Choosing where to use the different papers took awhile, but I am pleased with the results!
I followed the tutorial at Splitcoaststampers. The paper is scored at 3" and 9", then turn the paper. Score again at 3" and 9". Now the fun begins with all the folding! Check out the tutorial and video for the complete instructions.

Inside of the card!

Spellbinders Nestabilities:
Eyelet Circles - Sentiment circles on the band. Blossom for the small floral mat on the band.
Label 10 - Sentiment mats on the inside of the card.
Just Rite Spellbinders - Corners
Just Rite Stamps: Old Friends Set on the band. Nested Sentiments on the inside. I am still learning to work with stamps!
Martha Stewart: Flower Shower Punch Around the Page set. Also the fern greenery...I do not know that name.
Cricut Cartridge: Lacy Labels. The rolled rose is on Heart3 which is the 4th image from the right on the last row. The rose is cut using the layer feature and cut at 12". I know that sounds really large but you see the finished size. This is my first time trying a rolled rose-- need more practice, but I am liking these flowers
Recollections gemstones, pop-dots on the band, white ribbon from stash. Color Box lilac and Versa Magic Gingerbread inking.

Close-up of the front of the band that wraps around the card.

Challenges:
Just Rite - Ch. 080 More Than One Fold

Hope you enjoy this Napkin Fold card and are inspired to try one too! This is a bulky card so it needs a box or may be hand delivered.

Thanks for your comments!

My Sheri Crafts - Ch 91 Back 'n Forth

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Thanks for stopping by today! It is time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! The theme for Challenge 91 is Back 'n Forth. Our design team sister Marge asked us to use an accordion/fan fold as one of the elements on the project. My card measures 5" x 7" and is cut from white cardstock.
Designer papers are Greetings of the Season 2009 Hobby Lobby. Hmm, I have had these papers for a long time!
I enjoyed playing with some new Just Rite and Spellbinders crafting supplies on this card.
For the fan fold rosette, I cut a 1" x 12" strip of the poinsettia paper and scored it at each 1/4" using the Martha Stewart Scoreboard. Edge of the rosette is cut with the Martha Stewart Poinsettia Flourish edge punch.
Cricut Cartridge: Lacy Labels - Two scallop circles in the center of the rosette are cut at 1.5". This is the Joy image which is the last image on the second row. The decorative brad in the center is Anna Griffin Holiday brads, an after-Christmas purchase last year.
Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots on the white scallop circle.
Cheery Lynn - French Pastry Doily Dies for the white doily under the rosette.
Just Rite Stamps - Christmas Nested Frames & Occasions. The sentiment is stamped with Martha Stewart red and green inks. I used a Martha Stewart red colored pencil for the berries.
Spellbinders: Just Rite Custom Dies for the corners and the two sentiment blocks.
Bo Bunny Wraps: Pretty burgundy crushed/crinkled wide ribbon under the doily.
The white doily and the sentiment blocks are pop-dotted on the card. Bow is from Christmas trim that I have had for many years.

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 90 Ice Cream Cone / Dish

Welcome to Glenda's Cards

It is time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Did you know that July is National Ice Cream month! Of course, ice cream is good any month! I am the hostess for this challenge and thought we could have fun with this cold, yummy treat! Our challenge is to use an ice cream cone or dish of ice cream on your card, layout, or 3D project!
My ice cream cone is made using Cricut Project Cartridge Sweet Tooth Boxes. This is one of the fun images on the cartridge that caught my eye and I just had to buy it several months ago. Would you believe this is my first time to try the ice cream cone! The ice cream cone is the second image on each row. For best results, the instructions are to cut the images at 9.5" or larger. I used 9.5" and the finished cone stands about 7.5".
Designer paper is Basic Grey Eva Collection pack that I have been hoarding for a long time! I think the paper is too pretty to cut but I did it!
Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Hearts design B is used on the pink ice cream.

Close-up of cone
Just Rite Stamps- Be Happy Set. Sentiment is stamped with green Martha Stewart ink. Pink trim is from design team sister, Charlotte. I am loving these trims! Green flower is Prima Flowers. Buttons are from the Eva Collection and the green and pink bows are DMC Memory Thread. There is a cut for a cherry to be placed on top of the cone, but I chose to use the button and bow.

I cut the Cone Layer 3 which is the white circle with the opening that is seen in the above photo. For a special treat, a cupcake can be set inside the opening. I had difficulty trying to get a good photo. My cupcake seemed a bit small for the opening and the chocolate curls started melting. After this one photo, I decided that I needed to eat the cupcake! It was yummy -bought from Wal-Mart bakery. Now I will have to add candy inside the cone!

My Sheri Crafts - Ch 89 Picture This

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Yay! It was a short work week and Saturday is here! Time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Challenge 89 is Picture This! Our talented design team sister Sandy chose this week's theme and asked us to use the above picture as inspiration for our projects! These are pretty colors and several things came to mind including picnics, parties, and foods! I chose to use a strawberry!
Using Cricut Craft Room and the Cricut Country Life cartridge, I tried welding for a shaped card. The strawberry is on page 56. Using the shadow feature, I welded two shadow images on the side for the shaped card. The cut was 4.75". Regular cuts and layers were cut at same size to finish the card.
Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots on the strawberry
Spellbinders: Nested Sentiment Dies
Just Rite Stamps: Myriad Pro 50 pt. for the word Sweet
Paper Studio gemstone flower brad, Sew Easy fancy floss for the bow, and Versa Magic gingerbread inking.
Photo of inside of card. Sentiment will be added later. Maybe a cute birthday card!

Just Rite color challenge

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Thanks for stopping by today! Today's card is inspired by the Just Rite Challenge # 075 - Color Challenge of Aqua, Apricot, and Orange. When I saw the colors for the challenge and the design team's pretty and inspirational work, I thought of some K&Company double-sided papers that I have had for a long time. Sometimes a friend and I will buy paper pads and divide the papers. These are such papers and I do not know the name of this particular K&Company pad. These are not colors that I normally use, but I enjoyed working with the papers and colors for the challenge!
Card is 5" x 6 1/2" brown cardstock and is layered with a patterned 5" X 6 1/2" designer paper. The design is a play with one of the sketches from June 2012 PageMaps.
I know you are seeing a lot of rosettes on my projects lately but I enjoy making rosettes. The designer paper is cut 1" and scored at each 1/4". An aqua blue brad is placed in the middle and then I added the rhinestone for a bit of bling!

Cricut Cartridge: Lovely Floral - Butterfly cut 1.75". Stickles used on the butterfly for a little bling. Would you believe I could not find the appropriate size rhinestones in my stash!
Just Rite - Friendship Nested Sentiments. Yay! I received a few more stamps!
Spellbinders Nestabilities - Class Scalloped Rectangles Largest used on the mats and third largest used on the sentiment mat.
Spellbinders M-Bossabilities - Splendid Design B
Trims are from a friend! Thanks so much Charlotte. I enjoyed working with the pretty trims on the card!
Other supplies include aqua rhinestones and Versa Magic Gingerbread inking. The Sentiment mat and butterfly are pop-dotted.

Be sure to visit Just Rite challenge blog and see all the great inspiration by the design team. You have until Wednesday June 27 at 6:00 P.M. Central to enter your project!

For my BBTB2 design team post, click here or scroll down.

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am sharing a masculine card made for the Just Rite Challenge. My card is 5" x 6 1/2" cut from Bazzill Carob Cream cardstock. All the other papers are from my scrap stash. I have limited amount of Just Rite and Spellbinder products, but I wanted to play along and this is what I came up with!

Cricut Cartridge - Wild Card Page 69 Frame feature for the award cut at 5".
Just Rite Stamps - Just a Note set. I chose the Celebrate stamp to use in the middle of the award. I cut a 1 1/2" X 12" strip of plaid paper to make the rosette which was attached to the Cricut award image.
Spellbinder Classic Scalloped Square Large - I used the two largest sizes for the two mats.
Cuttlebug: Measure x Measure. I used the star folder to bring out the stars in the Just Rite stamp.

Other supplies include Versa Magic inking. Brown mat and the award are pop-dotted.

This card will be used for Father's Day. I think the design will also work for a birthday or one of those "You are a Star" day!

Happy Birthday Box Card

I am having fun trying different card styles. I really like the looks of this one!
This is called a box card and I used the great tutorial at Splitcoaststampers. It starts with a 8 1/2" x 11" piece of patterned paper. With scoring and folding, it becomes a box. It is perfect for a gift card or cash! The finished card will measure 4 1/4" square. My papers are K&Company Watercolor Bouquet. This is a very pretty pack of double-sided paper and I love the colors and designs!

The following photo shows the box, belly band, and the inside panel.

I used the Cricut Lite Lacy Labels cartridge for the scallop-edge labels. This image is the last one on the second line of the keypad--Joy label. I did not cut the shift layer for Joy. I used a Just Rite Happy Birthday stamp for the sentiment. I have not worked with these stamps before, but I do like the finished look. I stamped the image using Martha Stewart Forget Me Not blue ink and then used the center point function on the Expression to cut the scallop label. The flower is cut using Martha Stewart Layering Daisy. Pop dots are used in between the layers and pearls from my stash finish the flower. For the belly band I cut 1 1/2" x 10" strip of patterned paper, wrapped it around the card keeping it loose and glued the ends. You want this so it will slide off and on the card. The inside panel is cut 4" x 4", inked edges and corners are rounded.
Martha Stewart Flower Shower Punch is used on the strips on the box edges.

Hope you enjoy this card! If you try one, let me know so I can visit!
