Flowers for a Friend

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

It is a beautiful day in our neighborhood today, but too wet for me to work in the yard. I think Spring has arrived. I am sharing a photo of my azaleas. Aren't they gorgeous!
Now to the fun card that I made!

I have been playing with another one of the Cricut Digital Cartridges that was in the March Mystery box. Card is 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" white cardstock.

Cricut Cartridges:
Photo Play- Happy Glamper  - This cartridge has print and cut images plus some available papers. I love this jar of flowers and knew it would be one of the first images that I would cut.
Flowers in jar is cut 1.87" wide x 2.75" high from white Recollections card stock and pop-dotted on the blue mat.
Polaroid Frame is cut 4" wide x 5 1/4" high. This is the displayed patterned paper that is shown on the image.
Hello Friend is cut from the polka dot paper using Karley Font.
Using Insert Shape, the blue mat is cut 3.9" wide x 5.15" high and is embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. This is place behind the patterned frame.

 Inside of the card.

Anna Griffing Lovely Layered Cards - Happy Birthday to You is written on a 3.50" wide x 2.85" high white paper for the inside of the card.

Garden Party Birthday Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have been playing with some of the recent Cricut digital cartridges that were in the March Mystery Box. Today I am sharing one of the cards. Papers are Recollections.

Cricut Cartridge:
JGoode Garden Birthday Party - Garden Birthday card is cut 8.50" wide x 5.50" high from the pink paper. An envelope is included with the card, but I ungrouped and deleted the envelope image. My cut size does not include the envelope. All layers are included with the card image except for the butterfly.
Butterfly is also from the same cartridge and is cut 2.50" wide x 1.92" high. It is pop-dotted on the card.
I used the Cricut Mignight pen for the pen work. I am unsure why no more of the pretty pen work is not seen under the pink corner embellishment. Both images are the same size. If you put the white paper with the pen work over the pink paper, you see no pink. Looking at the image in design space you see pink on top. I offset the two layers a little bit to see some of the white and black.

View of the pretty pen work.

Cuttlebug Woven Diamonds folder is used on the yellow mat for more texture.
I added a small twine bow for extra embellishment.

For the inside of the card:
Using Insert Shapes in CCR, I cut a 4" wide x 5 1/4" high yellow rectangle. The pink rectangle is cut 3.5" wide x 3" high.
Happy Birthday is cut 3" wide x 1.73" from purple paper and pen work is using the midnight pen.

Happy Birthday Shaker Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I thought Spring had sprung in our area, but it is much cooler today! Nice day to stay inside and play with the Cricut machine! Today I am sharing my first attempt at a shaker card. Needing a birthday card for one of my Red Hat Lady friends, I was excited to play with red and purple. I was inspired to use sequins by the FCCB blog but would you believe I had to buy sequins! I like the way this turned out so I will probably use sequins again!

My white cardstock card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Patterned paper is from a Red Hat Society paper pack that I have had for ages! Solid papers are Recollections scraps from previous projects.

Cricut Cartridges:
Cindy Lou - Frame is cut 3.50" wide x 3.02" high. I actually cut two frames, one from red paper and the one from purple paper. I chose to use the purple frame and I cut the red flower segment out of the red frame and placed it on the purple frame. I could not find any acetate paper so I hand cut a piece from a scrapbook page protective cover. The light purple paper was hand cut for the backing of the frame. Red and purple sequins are used inside the frame.
Classic Font - Thinking of You is cut 2.75" wide. I lost the two little dots for the i's and chose to use two sequins. Works for me!
Anna's Lovely Layered Cards - Happy Birthday Friend is written with a red Precise V5 Pilot pen on a 3.75" square.
