Thanks for dropping by today! I would like to say Welcome and Thank You to my new followers!
Today begins a new challenge at Fantabulous Cricut. Challenge #75 is A Splash of Color--Use the color yellow on your project. This was a fun challenge for me and I know you will enjoy it too!
My card measures 5" x 6 1/2" and is layered with a colorful patterned paper from a Colorbok pad. I am featuring a cut from one of my newest Cricut cartridges, Florals Embellished. It is Bird 5 on page 69 and is cut at 3 1/2 inches. I love all the layer features on this cartridge--just adds so much color! It is a good way to bring in the yellow even if I have not seen such a colorful bird before! The white mat is cut 3 3/4" x 4 1/2" and the corners were cut using the Martha Stewart Flower Shower corner punch (Punch a Round the Page set). I wanted just a hint of yellow to show so the white mat is layered on the same size yellow mat. Using the corner punch again on a small piece of the tangerine paper, I was able to add the little flower on the punched edge of the white mat.
Sentiment block is hand cut from a piece of vellum look paper at 2" x 1 5/8". The sentiment is stamped with a dollar stamp from Michael's. I have had the Prima flower for a long time and thought it would work nicely on this card. Orange and green gemstones are from Recollections - a Halloween pack that I bought during a clearance! Inking is Dew Drop VersaMagic gingerbread.
Hope you enjoy my card! Please visit FCCB to see this week's challenge and the beautiful projects by the design team. Don't forget to visit each of their blogs for more inspiration! Now it is your turn to play along with us! We would love to see your paper projects for the Splash of color challenge using yellow! The challenge ends midnight Sept. 4th (mountain time).
I am also sharing this card at The Sisterhood of Crafters. The challenge is Flower Power-use a flower.
What a cheerful and fun card! I love all the bright patterned papers! :)Amy
ReplyDeleteBee-utiful bird card. Like the cartridge but not used it much since the layers made me nervous. You did a wonderful job with this. Looks like a piece of artwork.
