Birthday Girl

I made this card to share in a couple of challenges. The card is 5" x 6 1/2" and is layered with a pretty floral K&Company paper. All the papers are from the same K&Company paper pad. I was happy that I was able to use scraps from previous projects to complete this card.

At The Shabby Tea Room, Challenge #77 is Birthstones. The project or card is to be inspired by the color of your birthstone. Just so happens my favorite color is pink and the birthstone color for October is pink/rose. I have noticed rose, pink tourmaline, and opal are listed as October birthstone color.

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #24 is an Inspiration Photo. The photo is a plate of yummy cupcakes with white and pink frosting. Little banner picks are made from papers with stripes and dots. I chose the pink color, dots and stripes. As always, Birthday wording must be on the front of the card. I decided to make myself a card!

I used Cricut Storybook cartridge for the Birthday Girl accent/frame cut on page 72. It is cut 3 1/4" and the accent blackout is cut at the same size. I pop-dotted the frame on a paper strip cut with the Martha Stewart Doily Lace Trim punch. I layered a pink ribbon under the paper strip to give more pink color. Finishing touches are Recollections Pearl stickers, a pink bow, and a Mulberry Paper Flower. Inking is Dew Drop Versa Magic Gingerbread.

Hope you enjoy my little shabby chic card! This is my first time to particpate at The Shabby Tea Room. I enjoy seeing all the ladies' beautiful work and love the style. I need a lot more practice!
