Christmas Cardinal - Acrylic Embossing

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
Today I am sharing a Christmas card that was made for a special friend! Now that she has received the card, I am able to make the post. I am showcasing features similar to a previous card that I posted last year here

The card is 5" x 6 1/2" and is inspired by the pretty sketch at Card Patterns. Designer paper is Martha Stewart Holidays that was purchased last Christmas.

Cricut Cartridges:
Winter Woodland - Page 59 Bird is cut 2 1/2". Red glitter paper is also from the Martha Stewart Holidays pack.
Joys of the Season -  Page 69 Holly and Berries
Cuttlebug:
The embossed acrylic background is a piece of Cricut cartridge packaging. It is embossed with the Cuttlebug Birds and Swirls folder.
Other supplies include Christmas Red Stickles on the berries and Martha Stewart punch. Inking is Dew Drop Versa Magic Gingerbread. Christmas sentiment is Holiday Time Crystal Sticker. I hand cut a piece of the red glitter paper to run through the openings.
Challenges:
Card Patterns - Sketch 146
Little Scrap Pieces - Winter - Holiday
Simply Create Too - Ch 2 Embossing
Passionately Artistic - Linking Party
Robin's Creative Cottage - Link Up Party

Hope you enjoy my card!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Swirl Tree / Cuttlebug Acrylic Mat

'Up A Tree" is the theme Sherri chose for this week's Jitterbuggin' Challenge. I have almost been up a tree trying to choose a tree! Liking the swirl tree from Christmas Solutions Noel I decided to go with a winter Christmas theme. Along with adding a tree on the card, the challenge includes follow the sketch, add something yellow, and of course, a Cricut cut.

To add embossing to my background, I embossed a piece of acrylic--actually the clear packaging from a Cricut cartridge box--with the Cuttlebug Snowflakes folder. To add yellow, I cut a small starburst and placed on the tree. Adding a subtle hint of color for the appearance of a starburst, I inked the snowflake at the top of the tree with yellowish-gold ink. I thought that particular spot of the embossing looked good for the top of the tree! Edges of acrylic mat are slightly inked.

My tree is cut from Martha Stewart Holidays pack which was a previous Christmas clearance item. Love the green glitter page....cut it using pressure at 6 and multicut function on my Expression....cut beautifully! So much sparkle! Green corners are handcut. Using Martha Stewart snowflake punch, I cut a small length of white paper. Using the negative snowflake cut, I placed one on each corner.

Embellishments include 4 red circle-shaped gemstones on the mat and a little yellowish-gold gemstone on the star, plus some inking!

Cricut Cartridge: Christmas Solutions Noel - Tree cut at 4 inches and Starburst cut at 2 inches.
Cuttlebug Folder: Snowflake

Challenges:
Jitterbuggin' - Up a Tree
ABC Challenge - H is for Holidays
Anything Goes - Emboss It
Crafty Cardmakers - Dry Embossing
Fantabulous Cricut - Color Green and a Circle Shape (circle shapes in the embossing, paper and gemstones)

Hope you enjoy this card!!
