Christmas Kitsch- Snowman

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am sharing a card made using the Cricut Christmas Kitsch cartridge. I love this cartridge. It has so many pretty images and also makes a shaped card. The card is cut at 5.5 inches. The pretty double-sided paper is from a K&Company pad that I have had quite some time. The card and images can be found on page 25 and 26.

Inside of card
Merry Christmas image is also from the same cartridge. Image and shadow are cut 2.5 inches and can be found on page 88. I think this makes a pretty card and can be mailed easily.

I have not participated in challenges for a long time but I will enter this card in a few challenges that I found.

My Sheri Crafts - Ch 147 Oh Christmas Tree

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

It is time for a fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts. Sue has chosen the theme "Oh Christmas Tree". She asked us to make a card/project for Christmas which must include a tree. I must say it has been over a year since I have participated in any challenges. I am happy to be playing again! Many thanks to Sheri and the design team for bearing with me during this difficult time.

Recently I received the Cricut Anna Griffin Christmas Kitsch cartridge. I enjoyed working with the pretty card features on this cartridge to make these cards.

The shaped tree card image 15 is found on page 29. Using pretty double sided paper allows for the look above. Oh Christmas Tree sentiment is from Cricut Winter Frolic.

Above card is the image 28 found on page 55.The word peace is found on Winter Wonderland cartridge.

I used image 29 for the deer/tree card which is found on page 57. Tis the Season is found on the Winter Frolic cartridge.
All cards were cut 5.5 inches. I used Christmas papers that were purchased a couple of years ago.

Visit the design team's blogs to see all their creative tree projects. Remember you must make a Christmas card/project which includes a tree. We look forward to seeing your pretty cards!

Thanks for visiting today!

Happy Thanksgiving

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Hello Blogging Friends! It has been such a long time since I have posted on my blog. I am not sure if everything on blogger remains the same so I thought maybe I should do a trial post! I remember some talks about changes to Blogger but I have not done anything different. I hope some of my friends will see this and will comment if you do.

My family really went through a lot last year and this year. My husband passed away in February this year after a lengthy but courageous battle with cancer. My mother-in-law had been sick most of this year and she died in October. It has been hard to deal with loss and changes. But through friendships, prayers, and strength from God, I am doing ok. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and support!

I have been crafting some and wanted to share a couple of projects that I completed. Above photo is the results of my first try with burlap. I like the way it looks! The flower on the the B is also made from burlap. Below is a pin using one of my red burlap flowers and a Battenburg doily. Just perfect for a Red Hat Lady!

My next project is a scarecrow wreath made using a straw wreath which I cut into at the bottom to make arms. The sleeves and collar are from an old flannel shirt. Gloves are stuffed with poly-fil for the hands. He looks quite handsome on my patio!

Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving! Hope to be back soon sharing some Christmas cards!

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 120 - Stitch Time

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Hello blogging friends! It has been awhile since a post from me. My card is late, but I found a little time to participate in  My Sheri Crafts Challenge 120 - Stitch Time. Sue asked us to make a card or project that includes a sewing theme or stitching on the project.
My card measures 5" x 6 1/2" cut from DCWV paper. Other papers include Colorbok Kraft and K&Company papers.
Do you ever purchase a crafting item and then never get around to using it? Well, I do! I decided it was time for me to try out the Sew Easy stitch piercer tools that I bought some time ago from Michael's. I used the scallop piercer on the edge of the brown paper and the stitching is done with the Baker's twine blue lagoon. Luckily I found papers and colors that would work with the color of the twine. The paper actually has a stitched look. So the stitching was the beginning of my card! Maybe not perfect stitching, but ok for my first try!
Cricut Cartridges:
Thanksgiving - Pumpkin is cut at 1.75".
Freshly Picked - Page 49 - Farm Fresh sign is cut at 2.75".
Cuttlebug:
Polka Dots folder is used on the white mat. Divine Swirls is used on the pumpkin.
A little twine bow and a piece of burlap complete my card. I like the blues and greens with my pumpkin for a Fall look!

Be sure to visit My Sheri Crafts and see the pretty and inspiring projects by the design team and our guest designer. For more information on the projects, visit the individual blogs!
Now it is your turn to play along with us! You must include a sewing theme or sewing on your project. Several Ooh La La awards will be given and one person will be chosen to be our next guest designer. Please note there is a limit of 3 entries per person per challenge.

Challenges:
The Shabby Tea Room - Ch. 186 'Oh My Pumpkin'.. project inspired by the photo, include burlap and/or twine and a pumpkin(s).

Just an update---My husband is taking chemo treatments and we travel a lot back and forth to the hospital. I try to craft and blog as I can, but it has not been much lately. Thank you for your continued support of my blog and also for your prayers!
