Silk Ribbon Flowers/ Recessed Window Card

I am so excited to post a new card. It has been awhile! Thanks friends for bearing with me as I have been adding some of my older cards to my blog.

Wanting to enter a project at My Sheri's Crafts this week had me considering what could I do with stitching. The challenge is stitch something on your project- it can be real or faux and manuel or machine. I love both cross-stitch and ribbon embroidery and have done many projects as my walls are loaded with cross-stitched framed pieces. Knowing I would not have time to finish a cross-stitch project in two days, I am incorporating silk ribbon embroidery on my card. Stitches include decorative spider web rose,  ribbon stitch, lazy daisy, decorative lazy daisy, and split stitch. I am really pleased with my little bouquet!

I followed a great tutorial at Split Coast Stampers for making a recessed window card. I needed a way to mount my stitched piece. This is my first try making this window, but I will probably do this again. My piece of paper was cut 5 1/4 x 10 3/4, scoring at 5 1/4 and again at 5 1/2 as instructed in the video. The two scoring lines make a little spine to allow the card to lay flat.
Rather than making a frame for the entire front of card, I chose a frame from Cricut Lite Lovely Floral cartridge, cutting one frame at 3 1/2 inches from K&Company paper and the same frame again at 3 3/4 inches from a glitter page of My Mind's Eye Home Glitter Book.

The butterfly is also cut from Lovely Floral at 1 1/2 inch for all the cuts. Flowers were cut from Plantin Schoolbook using  1 1/4, 1, and 3/4 inches. Pearls, gemstones on butterfly, ribbon and lace are from my treasure chest.

Cricut cartridges: Lovely Floral, Plantin Schoolbook
Paper: K&Company double sided paper, My Mind's Eye Glitter Book
Martha Stewart: Ink, Scoring board

I will enter this card in following challenges.
