Through the Window!

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I had a little time to play with my Cricut and this is the results. My dear friend gave me the pretty paper pad quite some time ago and I could not make myself cut it until now! After seeing a couple of challenges, I decided to play along and cut the paper. It has glitter on some areas of the paper..not sure if you can see that in the photo. My card is 5" x 6 1/2" white cardstock and layered with the floral print paper.
Cricut Cartridges:
Christmas/Noel - Window is cut at 5". I layered a piece of vellum behind the window panes for the peeking through look!
Mother's Day Bouquet - Flower 3 is cut at 1.25" and 1" from a piece of the floral background paper.
The pretty crinkle ribbon is blog candy from Karen at Little Scrap Pieces. Many thanks Karen!

Down on the Farm Scene

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Happy Mother's Day! Hope you are having a great day!
It was a rainy day here on Saturday. After housecleaning and laundry, I was able to play with my Cricut and design this card with the farm scenes. This really took a lot of time with the cutting and layering but I am happy with the results. I enjoy living in the country and enjoy the country scenes!
The card is cut from a piece of white Colorbok cardstock at 8" x 9" and  folded in half to make a 4" x 9" tall card. The background paper is Recollections Light Blue Distressed. I was happy to find this in my stash and thought it would be good for the sky. All other papers are from my scrap stash.
Cricut Cartridges:
Country Life - Looks like I am showcasing this cartridge as I added many of the images to the card.
Page 43 and 44 - Hen 1 and Hen 2 cut 1.25". I first cut the images smaller but the paper kept tearing in the Cricut so I had to increase the size.
Page 52 - Apple tree cut 2.75
Page 58 -  Barn cut 2.75"
Page 58 - Phrase Down On The Farm cut 1".
Page 63 - Windmill cut 2.50". Of course it had to be cut in yellow and green!
Page 72- Countryside on shift cut 2"- one was cut on flip. This is the greenery at the bottom of card. Using the layer1 on shift, cut two greenery at 1".
Page 73 - Wildflower image on shift for the green grass cut 1.5". This is the 2 light green grasses at fence.
Create a Critter
Page 29 - Sun cut 1.5"
Page 69 - Red Flowers (Accessory key) cut 1.5"
I used lots of inking which was a tough job with the smaller pieces. I had more on my fingers than on paper!

Challenges:
My Craft Spot - Ch 55 - Down on the Farm (farm animals, barn, country, etc.)
Simply Crafts -  Create a Critter Cartridge - Sun

Hope you enjoy my card!

My First Double Z Fold Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Thanks for stopping by! As I announced earlier, I am so excited to be on the BBTB2 Design Team! Today I am sharing the Mother's Day card that I submitted for the design team call!
This is my first attempt at the Double Z Fold Card. The card starts with a  5 1/4" x 12" Bazzill purple cardstock. Using my Martha Stewart scoreboard, it is scored at 2", 4", 8", and 10". The second score is folded in and the first score line is folded back. Repeat the folds on the other side and your card is ready for decorating. A great video and written instructions are available at SplitCoastStampers for this card!
Designer papers are K&Company.

Using a 1 3/8" strip of the purple cardstock, I made a band for the card. The Martha Stewart Lace Trim Doily was used on one side of the designer paper. Lace was gathered and stitched to form a doily behind the Cricut flower.

Cricut Cartridges:
Flower Shoppe - Flower on page 16 cut at 2.5". I used Fun 1, Fun 2, and Fun 4 image cuts.
Mother's Day 2010 - Happy Mother's Day is cut 2.5".

Cuttlebug Folder is With Love

Other Supplies:
Ribbon, pearls and inking.

I am really pleased with this card style and will try it again soon. The size of the folded card is 5 1/4' x 4" which will be easy for mailing. However with the dimensional flower, it will have to be in a box.

Challenges:
My Craft Spot - Ch. 54 Mother's Day

The Cuttlebug Spot - Flowers For Mom
Passionately Artistic - Linking Party
Papercraft Star - Ch. 95 Mother's Day

Cricut Cartridge:
Paisley - Page 48. Using the main image and the image on shift, the umbrella is cut 3". I chose not to use all the layers because I wanted a pretty floral umbrella.

Patchwork Easter Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards

I am playing along with the fun sketch challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. I decided to make an Easter card so I can play along with a few more fun challenges!
The card is 5" x 5" white cardstock and layered with a 4 3/4" square of lavender paper. The nine little squares are cut at 1 1/2". Easter papers are from a friend and other papers are left over from previous projects. This is a good sketch for using small pieces of paper. The fun is laying out the patchwork design! The ribbon is interwoven on the squares for a bit more color and design.

Cricut Cartridge:
Easter 2010 - Egg and shadow are cut at 2 1/2".

Other supplies:
Easter dimensional sticker is from a Walmart pack of handmade stickers. This has been in my stash for a year-maybe two. I thought the sticker would work well with the different colors in my card.
Ribbon is American Crafts - another after Easter clearance!

Egg is pop-dotted. Versa Magic inking.

Large Valentine Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards! Thank you for stopping by today!

Hope you are having a great day! I have been busy with Valentine's cards but have not completed all I want to do. Is anyone else running late with cards!
I recently received a beautiful card from a card exchange. It is a large size card and covered with so many beautiful details! Thank you so much Beckie and thanks for inspiring me to try a large card!!
This Valentine card is made from a 8 1/2" x 11" red Recollections cardstock and scored in half to make a 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" card. White layer is 8 1/4" x 5 1/4". Zebra print paper is 8" x 5". I am playing along with the sketch challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas this week.
Cricut Cartridges:
Victorian Romance - I just received this cartrige and I am loving the pretty images! I was using the Cricut Craft Room and the heart is cut at 4.5". Love is cut at 3.0"w x 1.694"h. I adjusted the size until I was pleased with it. Good thing about the CCR!
Elegant Edges - White mat is the Shadow feature on page 39. Sorry, I did not record the size but it measures 6 1/2"h. I cut the image in half to use on the card so I have an extra mat for later use.
Cuttlebug: Polka Dots folder on the white mat.
Martha Stewart Lace Hearts edge punch was used on the red paper. I added the cut out tiny red hearts on the white mat to add a bit of color.
The flower ribbon brad is from Spare Parts. I thought that was so cute so I just had to buy the package and then discovered the package was on sale!!

Valentine Sweets Store

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
Surprise! I have a project to share with you today that is not a card!
I recently bought the Cricut Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge and immediately knew which would be my first project to try. I had so much fun being a paper carpenter and I am really pleased with my results. Designer double-sided patterned papers are from K&Company Kelly Panacci Valentine Pad that was bought last Valentine. For the house, I chose the pretty little hearts paper. I was working with the Cricut Craft Room and No 4 Store on page 26. I noticed the handbook shows the store image is the third cut on top line, but it is marked incorrectly. The store is actually the fourth key on the keypad. Cuts were at 10".
To make the store you must cut the main image twice and then there are four layer cuts which have several different pieces. On one layer cut, I used the hide contour feature and separated the images so I could use different papers for some of the images.

I used the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes folder on the white door facing.  Do you like the pink polka dot door!  The heart on the door is hand cut from one of the pieces of designer paper.
Here is a view of the back of the store building. I love the little window. I run the white paper through the Distressed Stripes folder also. The flower pot and flower cuts are on one of the layer cuts. I added some Recollections Floral Embellishments flowers. On some of the flowers, I added two layers of flowers, a yellow button and some pop-dots for dimension.
This is a side view of the little store. I thought the pretty striped paper would be good for the roof - actually reminds me of a storefront awning!  The Sweets signpost was a little taller than I wanted--it went up in the awning so I cut some of pole off. For an extra spash of Valentine look, I added a ribbon bow from ribbon that was in my stash!
I cut the word Sweets twice and placed the word on each side of the sign. A piece of Cricut cartridge packaging was cut and glued inside the windows.
Hope you enjoy my little house of love! I will  place some candy in it and use it for a Valentine party  decoration!

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #94 - Snow Fun

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

It is time for another fun challenge at Fantabulous Cricut. Challenge #94 is Snow Fun- use a snowflake or snowman on your card or project. I started with a white 5" x 6 1/2" card and layered it with the snowflake patterned paper. Papers are from my stash but I think it is The Paper Studio.
Cricut Cartridge:
A Child's Year -Page 55- Snowman is cut at 3.50". This is one of my favorite snowman cuts. I love the silhouette cuts on this cartridge. We seldom receive snow in my area, but if we do and it is enough, we will be making a snowman.
Martha Stewart - Aspen Snowflake edge punch.
Ribbon is Walmart Holiday Time and the Rhinestone Snowflakes are Darcie. I thought the shimmering colors of the snowflakes would be pretty on the card and I need to use more items from my treasure chest!

Be sure to visit FCCB and see what the talented designers have created for this challenge! Now it is your turn to play along with us. Remember to follow the theme and you must include a Cricut cut on your card or project. We look forward to seeing your project! Deadline for entry is midnight Sunday, Jan. 22.

Red cardstock measures 4 1/2" x 4 3/4" and is layered with a white cardstock measuring 4 1/4" x 4 1/2". The red dot strip is layered over a purple strip. I was happy to find this new paper. My Sheri Crafts Ch # 74 Decorate for Christmas

Welcome to Glenda's Cards! Thanks for stopping by because it is time for a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts! This week we are Decorating for Christmas and ask that you create an ornament or home decor item for Christmas.
For my project I decorated a wreath to hang on my door. The green 15 inch wreath was purchased at The Dollar Tree. To add more thickness and character, I added several little flower/pine cone picks that I have had for years..another one of those after Christmas clearance that I had forgotten about!
I downloaded the Cricut Craft Room application and have been playing around with the Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge! This is my first project using the CCR and I am pleased with the flower cuts.
Cricut Cartridges
Flower Shoppe - The two green pattern flowers are using the Basic 2 and Basic 4 images on page 12 cut at 3.25".  I did not record the size for the center Basic1.
I used the Sunflower images on page 17 for the three red/cream flowers but two centers are cuts from image Basic1.
The flower at the top of the wreath is using the Ruffle images on page 15. I did not record these sizes...as I was working with the sizing of images.
Winter Woodland - Joy on Page 78 was cut at 5".

Be sure to visit My Sheri Crafts to see the lovely projects by the design team. We look forward to seeing your ornaments or home decor items for Christmas. Remember one person will be chosen to be the next guest designer and Ooo La La awards will be given.

Thinking of You

Hello friends! Hope you are having a great weekend! Welcome to all my new followers! Thank you for your interest in my cardmaking!
This card is 5" x 4 1/4" cut from Colorbok white cardstock. I am playing with Sassy Lil' Card Sketches July 28 card sketch. I have had the blue and white patterned papers for awhile and do not recall the name.
Cricut cartridge:
Lacy Labels:  Yes, I only used one cartridge on this card! The label is the first one on the first row (love you image). My label is cut 3 1/2' first from white and using the layer image, it is cut same size from the blue paper.
Cuttlebug Folder:  Feel Better 4-Pack. I embossed the white label with the "thinking of you" folder.
Martha Stewart: Doily Lace Trim edge punch and lots of blue inking.
Label is pop-dotted and ribbon is from my stash! Using the Martha Stewart Scoreboard, I scored lines on the blue patterned paper.

Challenges:
Sassy Lil' Card Sketches -- July 28 sketch
Celebrate the Occasion -- Ch 23 Any occasion (blue and white)
My Craft Spot - Ch 18 Embossing
Papercraft Star - Ch 55 Anything goes

Hope you enjoy my card.
Just a reminder, I will be sharing my first design team project for Fantabulous Cricut on Monday. I am so excited! Look forward to seeing you then!
