My Sheri Crafts - Ch# 71 - It's the Great Pumpkin

Hope you are having a beautiful Fall day! Today at My Sheri Crafts we start another fun challenge. Challenge # 71 is "It's the Great Pumpkin"! We are asked to use a pumpkin on the card or project and this can be Halloween or not. I chose to use a Fall theme for an upcoming birthday card that I will need.

Card is 5" x 6 1/2" cut from brown Recollections paper. Using papers of my stash from previous cards, I cut three strips and layered on top of the card. The dot patterned mat is cut at 3 1/8" x 4 1/2" and is layered over a brown 1" x 6" strip, then pop-dotted on the base of the card. Papers were from Recollections Autumn pad that I have had for some time.

Cricut cartridge is Pooh and Friends. The pumpkin image on page 44 is cut at 3 1/2".
I used a Studio G stamp for the birthday sentiment. Lots of inking, ribbon and gemstones from my stash complete my Fall birthday card.

Visit My Sheri Crafts to see the pretty projects by the Design Team. We welcome two new design team members this week! I am happy to working with these ladies!
We look forward to seeing your pumpkins! Remember you have until midnight CST Oct. 28 to submit your project. One winner will be chosen to be guest designer and also Ooo La La awards are chosen.

Challenges:

Fantabulous Cricut - Ch# 81 - Decor and More

Wow! Monday again and time for another fun challenge at Fantabulous Cricut! Challenge # 81 is Decor and More. We are asked to create a project to hang on the wall--can be vinyl, wall hanging, etc. My thoughts were to make a type of wreath/wall hanging and this is my results! I want to surprise some of my Red Hat sisters with this little creation and I am using reds and purples rather than traditional colors for Halloween.

The base is cut from black cardstock at 10.50" using the Cricut Essentials cartridge which is preloaded on the E2. The scallop doily image is on page 37. For added strength and stability, I hand cut a piece of kraft cardboard which had been marked at 10" with a plate and glued the cardboard to the main cut. The cardboard was recycled from a scrapbooking kit. When I found the purple spider web paper in a K&Company pack during my recent shopping trip to Michael's, I just had to buy it for my background!

The flowers are made using Cricut Flower Shoppe. I did a search on You Tube on this cartridge and found a great video by MargaretsCrafts. The flower is the mum on page 21 and uses varying sizes for the layers of petals. Leaves are on page 22. I chose to use less layers thus making a smaller flower on the witch hat.
Cricut Happy Hauntings is used for remaining cuts.
Page 54 - Witch Hat cut 5 1/2" from purple gingham and the image is repeated using white cardstock for added thickness on the hat.
Page 38 - Boo is cut 1 1/4" using the phrase feature- regular and shadow.
Page 65 - Flourishes are cut using the Spooky Font feature on page 65 at 1 1/4". One image was cut using flip feature.
Cuttlebug Folder- Swiss Dots used on the red layer of hat.
For a little Red Hat flair, I added gemstones and feathers. Do you see the little spider!
Lots of inking! Hat, spider, and flower are pop-dotted. A loop of red ribbon is glued to the back for hanging.

Hope you enjoy my project! Now it is your turn to play with us at FCCB. Stop by and see all the fun creations by the design team. Remember the deadline to enter the challenge is midnight Sat. Oct. 15th. As always, be sure to include a Cricut cut!

I am sharing at Crafty Sprouts Color Challenge--Red and Black and Slimy Green. You can use any theme and you must use at least 2 of the colors.

Apple Harvest

It seems forever since I was able to participate in a challenge. There have been so many great challenges lately and I have been missing all the fun. I finally was able to get a card done this weekend for a couple of challenges!
My card is 5" x 6 1/2 " white cardstock and is layered with a pretty Recollections pink patterned paper.
I was trying to include apples and a wheelbarrow into my project. I opened Cricut Freshly Picked cartridge for the first time and saw this apple frame. Well, immediately I decided to frame a wheelbarrow! Have you noticed the interesting frames on this cartridge...some would be great on scrapbook pages.
Cricut Cartridges:
Freshly Picked - Page 28 - Apple frame cut 4". Page 54 - Hat cut 1 3/4". For Apple Harvest, I used the Words feature on page 28 for the Apple and Words feature on page 59 for Harvest. Both were cut at 1 1/4".
Walk in my Garden - Page 107- Wheelbarrow cut at 1 1/4".
Cricut Essentials (preloaded on E2) - Page 45- Corner cut at 1.25"
A Child's Year - Page 49 - Apples cut 3/4"
Lots of inking! Hat and phrase are pop-dotted! Patterned papers are Recollections (24 in pack). I love all these colors. For the reds and kraft color, I use papers from my scrap stack. I used both the Expression and E2 on this card.

Challenges:
Bitten by the Bug2 - Walk in my Garden wheelbarrow. Of course, if you do not have this cartridge, you can use a similar cut from another cartridge.
Cooking with Cricut - Ch.# 53 - Apples and Honey
Link Up for Pink - Linking party - Pink as main color for Breast Cancer Awareness

Hope you enjoy my card!
