Birthday Cards

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am sharing birthday cards made with the Cricut. I used K&Company double-sided papers for the above shaped card.
Cricut Cartridges:
Something to Celebrate - Card base is cut 8.5" wide.
Phrases- make a Wish is cut 3" wide. I am pleased with how well the Explore cuts these phrases at smaller sizes.
Tags, Bags, Boxes, More 2 - Happy Birthday with cake is cut at 3.50" wide. This is used inside of card.
I used pink Stickles inside the flower and a Gelly roll pen for the dashes around the sides of card.

Inside of card.

The second card is white cardstock and measures 5" x 6 1/2". Patterned papers are from DCWV Fresh Floral Stack. Solid papers are from my stash.

Cricut Cartridges:
Disney Pooh & Friends - Daisy Frame is cut 4.75" wide. I had no idea this cut was on that cartridge. Using the Explore and being able to see my purchased images brings to my attention there are so many images that I have never cut!
Wild Card - Happy Birthday is cut 2.25" high.
Birthday Bash - Have a Banner Year is cut 5"wide.

 Inside of card.

Thanks for your visits and comments! Hope you enjoy seeing these cards!

Cricut Sentimentals

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Brrrr...It's is cold outside! Such a pretty day yesterday. Temperature was 80 degrees at 3 p.m. but with this current winter blast, the temperature plunged to 37 degrees by 10 p.m. last night. We had sleet/freezing rain in the area during the night, but thankfully not too much at my house. We have not had the weather in the South like many of you have been experiencing all winter. I am ready for Spring! I took the opportunity to play with my Cricut and made a card for a few challenges!

My card is cut using Cricut Sentimentals cartridge and pretty double-sided K&Company paper. I have not used the cartridge in a couple of years. I really like the hand with envelope image and previously used that image back in 2010, so I thought it was time to use it again! Surprise! All of my images are cut from the Sentimentals cartridges!

Cricut Sentimentals:
Page 66 - Pretty shaped Card is cut 10"w.
Page 42- 3 Scalloped circles cut 2.25" are used for the background.
Page 27 - Hand is cut 1.50" h. Hand is pop-dotted on the rectangle tag.
Page 66- Tag is cut 2.75" h. Using the Cricut Explore, text box and write feature, the words For You are written on the tag. This tag is pop-dotted on the circles for dimension.
Page 71 - With Love is used inside of the card.

Cuttlebug folders Script, Swiss Dots, and Heart Blocks are used on the green scalloped circles.

Other supplies include a pink ribbon/lace trim from my stash, Recollections rhinestone embellishments, and DMC Memory thread which was shaped into two hearts and made into a bow on the tag.

Inside of card.

Challenges:
The ABC Challenge - E for Exceptionally Cute. I thought it turned out cute!
BBTB2 - Old Stuff Day - Use a cartridge that you have not used in a long time.
The Shabby Tea Room - Ch. 247 Pop of Pink
Tuesday Morning Sketches - Ch. 290 Sketch. This is my play with the fun sketch!

Hope you enjoy this card! Thanks for your visits and comments!

A Folk Art Festival Clock

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have been hibernating in my craft room for the past few days while my area has been dealing with wintry weather. Thankfully it was rain/sleet/snow and no freezing rain so we had no problems with electricity outage. I did not see a snowflake at my house, but some areas close by received 2-3 inches of snow. Snow is seldom seen where I live, so I know there were excited children who were seeing snow for the first time and some of the older folks were just as excited too! I probably would have built a snowman or snowlady!

What better way to pass my time than to play with my Cricut Explore! My card measures  5" x 6 1/2" and is white cardstock. The pretty pattern papers are from DCWV Pressed Petals paper pack.

Cricut Cartridges:
Folk Art Festival -Clock is cut 2.50"h.
Elegant Edges - Scallop Mats are cut 3.5" h. from brown Recollections paper and a beige paper from the paper pack. I hand cut the rectangle white and brown mats.
Home Decor - Memories cut 2.75"w. I debated on the sentiment to use on my card with the clock. Sometimes we think we have all the time in the world, but soon that particular time or event becomes a memory. Thinking of sweet memories, this could be used as an anniversary card or maybe a birthday card.
Cuttlebug:
Houndstooth folder on the brown scallop mat.
Dotted Swiss on the white mat.

A small crochet doily and pearls finish the look.

 Inside of card.
I used some of the left over patterned papers for the inside of the card. I will add the sentiment later.

Challenges:
BBTB2  - Cricut clock
Tuesday Morning Sketches - Ch. 289 Sketch

Thinking of You!

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today I am sharing a "Thinking of you" card that may brighten someone's day! The card is cut from white Colorbok cardstock and measures 5" x 7" folded. My pretty patterned K&Company papers are left over from previous projects. I like to work with patterned papers and combine as many as I can on a project. I frayed and inked the background papers.
Cricut Cartridges:
Cindy Loo - Sentiment "Thinking of you" cut  2.41"w  x 1.27"h
Elegant Edges - White and pink oval mats cut 4"h.
Kate's ABC's - Mason Jar cut 2.4"h. This image has several butterflies included, but I edited the image cut so I could have only the jar. I used the blue paper and topped it with the pretty floral paper and added a little heart to the jar. Finishing touch is the twine bow.
Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots on the white mat

Other supplies include an eyelet lace with pink ribbon woven through it, pearls, and a pretty Spare Parts pink paper flower.

Challenges:
CardzTV - Ribbon
My Time to Craft - Ch. 280  Lace
Simply Create Too - Ch.79 Anything goes
The Shabby Tea Room - Ch. 246 Mason Jar Love
