School Days Easel Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I am combining some Back to School challenges using a sketch challenge! The patterned background paper is from Pressed Petals School Days. I have had this paper pack for a few years. Solid papers are from the scrap stash.

Cricut Cartridges:
Elegant Edges - Using the base Scallop Doily Label image, I welded two labels together to make the card foundation for an easel card. The card was cut in white. Using the single image, I cut one from the patterned School Days paper and one from blue cardstock. The second patterned paper layer was cut using the the top layer image which makes the hole openings. It is layered over the blue cardstock.
Recess - Girl at desk is cut 2" high. Crayon border is also cut from this cartridge.
Create A Friend - School Days is cut 2.75" wide.

Cuttlebug Folders:
Swiss Dots on the white mat and Script on the green mat.
White and green mats hand cut. School Days mat is pop-dotted on card for the easel stop.

Folded Card
 Challenges:
BBTB2 - School Supplies
FCCB - Ch. 259 Back to School (school related or teachers)
Sisterhood of Crafters - School Time (Entry 2)
Tuesday Morning Sketches - Sketch 316. Sketch can be used for round easel or regular A2.

Rainy Day

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
We have been having several rainy days and more on the way. I decided to play along with a rainy day theme. The card is 5" x 6 1/2" white cardstock. I was inspired by the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I began the layers with the yellow solid cardstock and I continued with solid colors. This is not my usual style of papers--you know I love patterned papers--but I chose the solids this time. All the papers are from my scrap stack. My younger grandsons enjoy being outside on rainy days but they do not bother with any rain gear!!

Cricut Cartridges:
Everyday Paper Dolls - Boy wearing rain gear and the umbrella are layered together and is cut 3"h.
Disney Pooh and Friends -  Cloud and raindrops cut 3"w.  The cloud is used for the rain puddle. I failed to record the name of the cartridge for the gray cloud.
Cricut Font and Basic Shapes - Rainy Day is cut 1.74" w, 1.18" h.
Paisley - Heart button is cut 1" w. I added a bow with Sew Easy Fancy floss.

Challenges:
BBTB2 - April Showers
Simple Create Too - Ch. 83 No Digis or Stamped Images
The Sisterhood of Crafters - April Showers
Tuesday Morning Sketches -  Sketch 296

Another Spring Fling Flower Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Hope everyone's week is going good! After a long day of yard work yesterday, I decided it was time for a little play with paper and glue! The card is cut from a purple Recollection cardstock at 5.5" x 4.25". My pretty patterned papers are K&Company Watercolor 12"x12" paper pad.

Cricut cartridge:
Spring Fling - Iris is cut 3"h. Thinking of you is cut 3"w. The Cricut midnight pen was used for the drawing. I like this cartridge and the way the ink drawing adds to the image.
Winter Woodland - Tag used for the mat is cut 2.98"w x 3.60"h.

I frayed the edges of some papers and added a corner accent with three purple rhinestones.

Challenges:
BBTB2 - Spring flower

Music card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I was able to play with my Cricut Explore this afternoon after several days of being away from home. My Mom had knee replacement last Tuesday and I stayed at the hospital with her. Surgery went well and she is improving daily. She is now doing more therapy closer to our home.
I missed playing along with some of my favorite challenges last week. This card is 5" x 6 1/2" cut from green cardstock. Patterned papers are The Paper Studio Girls Live to Rock.

Cricut Cartridges:
Elegant Edges - Circle Frame is cut 3" wide from a yellow sheet of the Paper Studio pad. There are shades of yellow on the frame. Because I wanted to place the frame on the patterned mat, I handcut the pink paper for the black out of the frame.
Nifty Fifties - Record group is cut 2.25"h. Cuttlebug Script folder is used on the small yellow piece on the record for a little dimension...not seen well in my photo.
When I Was a Kid - I (heart) music is cut 2.25" w. Music scale at top of card is cut 1.45" w. Music Note on right hand side of card is cut 1"h.

Cricut Sentimentals

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Brrrr...It's is cold outside! Such a pretty day yesterday. Temperature was 80 degrees at 3 p.m. but with this current winter blast, the temperature plunged to 37 degrees by 10 p.m. last night. We had sleet/freezing rain in the area during the night, but thankfully not too much at my house. We have not had the weather in the South like many of you have been experiencing all winter. I am ready for Spring! I took the opportunity to play with my Cricut and made a card for a few challenges!

My card is cut using Cricut Sentimentals cartridge and pretty double-sided K&Company paper. I have not used the cartridge in a couple of years. I really like the hand with envelope image and previously used that image back in 2010, so I thought it was time to use it again! Surprise! All of my images are cut from the Sentimentals cartridges!

Cricut Sentimentals:
Page 66 - Pretty shaped Card is cut 10"w.
Page 42- 3 Scalloped circles cut 2.25" are used for the background.
Page 27 - Hand is cut 1.50" h. Hand is pop-dotted on the rectangle tag.
Page 66- Tag is cut 2.75" h. Using the Cricut Explore, text box and write feature, the words For You are written on the tag. This tag is pop-dotted on the circles for dimension.
Page 71 - With Love is used inside of the card.

Cuttlebug folders Script, Swiss Dots, and Heart Blocks are used on the green scalloped circles.

Other supplies include a pink ribbon/lace trim from my stash, Recollections rhinestone embellishments, and DMC Memory thread which was shaped into two hearts and made into a bow on the tag.

Inside of card.

Challenges:
The ABC Challenge - E for Exceptionally Cute. I thought it turned out cute!
BBTB2 - Old Stuff Day - Use a cartridge that you have not used in a long time.
The Shabby Tea Room - Ch. 247 Pop of Pink
Tuesday Morning Sketches - Ch. 290 Sketch. This is my play with the fun sketch!

Hope you enjoy this card! Thanks for your visits and comments!

A Folk Art Festival Clock

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have been hibernating in my craft room for the past few days while my area has been dealing with wintry weather. Thankfully it was rain/sleet/snow and no freezing rain so we had no problems with electricity outage. I did not see a snowflake at my house, but some areas close by received 2-3 inches of snow. Snow is seldom seen where I live, so I know there were excited children who were seeing snow for the first time and some of the older folks were just as excited too! I probably would have built a snowman or snowlady!

What better way to pass my time than to play with my Cricut Explore! My card measures  5" x 6 1/2" and is white cardstock. The pretty pattern papers are from DCWV Pressed Petals paper pack.

Cricut Cartridges:
Folk Art Festival -Clock is cut 2.50"h.
Elegant Edges - Scallop Mats are cut 3.5" h. from brown Recollections paper and a beige paper from the paper pack. I hand cut the rectangle white and brown mats.
Home Decor - Memories cut 2.75"w. I debated on the sentiment to use on my card with the clock. Sometimes we think we have all the time in the world, but soon that particular time or event becomes a memory. Thinking of sweet memories, this could be used as an anniversary card or maybe a birthday card.
Cuttlebug:
Houndstooth folder on the brown scallop mat.
Dotted Swiss on the white mat.

A small crochet doily and pearls finish the look.

 Inside of card.
I used some of the left over patterned papers for the inside of the card. I will add the sentiment later.

Challenges:
BBTB2  - Cricut clock
Tuesday Morning Sketches - Ch. 289 Sketch

 Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I found time to play with more pretty K&Company papers and wanted to enter a few challenges. The card measures 5" x 7" and is cut from white card stock. I tried fraying and a little curling on the patterned papers. Still working on a shabby chic look!
Cricut Cartridge:
Mother's Day Bouquet - The handmade flowers are Flower 8 on the cartridge. The image is cut at varying sizes from the pretty patterned papers including a newsprint paper. I enjoy using this cartridge for making flowers.
Spellbinders Nestabilities Eyelet Circle on the white card stock.
Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily for the purple doily.
Just Rite Old Friends Set on the sentiment.
White Crinkle ribbon and a purple Bucilla Ribbon Embroidery ribbon are used for the bows. Lace and pearls are from my stash. A tiny pink Jolee's Boutique butterfly completes the look!

St. Patrick's Day Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Here it is March already and I have a St. Patrick's Day card to share with you. I am playing with the sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I like the sketch and think it is a good way to use paper from my stash. That stack keeps growing! I think the St. Patrick's Day paper is pretty with the lavender and purples. This is a piece left over from another project that I will share soon with you. Green and Lavender papers are scraps from a Pearlescent paper pack.
Card is 5" x 6 1/2" cut from green cardstock.
Cricut Cartridge:
A Child's Year - Page 31 Hat is the Icon feature and is cut 2". Hat is applied to an Acton Wobble so it has a fun movement about it!
Cuttlebug:
Polka Dots Folder is used on the 4 3/4" x 6 1/4" white background paper.
Lots of inking and Recollection green gemstones.

Challenges:
Little Scrap Pieces - Ch. Use Green

Hope you enjoy my card. It is simple but I think one of the grandkids will enjoy the Acton Wobble Hat!
