Winnie the Pooh

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I have many Cricut images that I never seem to use. Today's card features some of those images that I chose to play with...Winnie the Pooh. The card is 5" x 6 1/2" white cardstock layered with a Colorbok light blue paper for the background. Others papers are from stash.

Cricut Cartridge
Disney Pooh and Friends - Pooh's house is cut 6.2"w, 4.66"h. Pooh is cut 2.75"h. Pooh word is cut 1.5"w., grass is cut .75"h. I first cut a smaller Pooh Bear, but some of the intricate facial cuts did not do well. As Pooh would say "Think, think". I chose a bit larger size.
Cuttlebug folder - Kassies's Brocade is used on the tree for a bit of dimension and interest. As in cartoons, it does not have to be a plain tree!

Challenge:
Die Cuttin Divas - Ch. 213 - Kid theme- In honor of Cartoonist Day May 5th

Thanks for your visit! Maybe Pooh will bring a smile!

A Spring Garden

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

We are still having a wet Spring, but those Spring showers bring May flowers! I played with my Cricut Explore to create a little garden scene. Card is 5" x 6 1/2" white cardstock. All papers are from the scrap stack - a good way to use to all those smaller papers for these smaller cuts.
Cricut Cartridges:
April Showers - Phrase "Spring Garden" is cut 2.50"w.
Celebrate with Flourish - Sun/Cloud is cut 3"w.
Create a Critter - Tulips cut 1.50"h., Butterfly is cut .75"w.
Freshly Picked - Garden Gate is cut 2.50"h., Hoe is cut 2"h., Hat is cut 1.25"w.

I enjoyed creating the little Spring Garden. Working with the Cricut Explore makes it very easy to find the images. Although, I do take a lot of time choosing which image is better for my purpose--so many pretty images to choose from! I would like to work in my flower beds but we had rain during the night. Now I hear thunder! Maybe a day to play with the Explore!!

Challenges:
BBTB2 - Either/or both a sun or cloud
Die Cuttin Divas - Ch. 212 Something you would find in a garden.
FCCB - Ch.249 Welcome Spring - Whatever reminds you of Spring.
My Time To Craft! -Ch. 289 Spring Flowers

Hope you enjoy this card! Thanks for your visit and comment!

Life is a Beach Flamingo

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

I found a little time this afternoon to play with my Cricut machine. Looking through some of my neglected cartridges, I chose this flamingo card feature found on Life is a Beach. Hibicus paper is from scrap stack.

Cricut Cartridges:
Life is a Beach - The card is cut from white Colorbok card stock at 5.5". The flamingo is cut out on the card. Front of card is lined with the hibicus paper. Using the individual flamingo image from the cartridge I sized it to cover the image cut on the card. Size was 1.49"w x 2.74"h. Leaf is cut 1.09"w x 1.3"h.
Thanksgiving -  Thank you is cut 2.58"w x 2.00"h from the white cardstock.

I added some inking and a small green rhinestone for the eye. Simple card but I think it makes a great thank you card for someone who likes a flamingo!

Challenge:
Die Cuttin Divas - Ch. 211 - Zoo Awareness- animal you would find at a zoo.

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 155 Happy Mother's Day

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Today begins a new challenge at My Sheri Crafts. Our design team sister Sandy chose the theme for Challenge 155 Happy Mother's Day - Something Girly. Now if I were making this card for myself, it would be pink and frilly! I am the only one in my family that really likes pink....so I chose another color scheme for my Mom.  Papers are from Prima The Second Wind. I think my mother will love this card!

Cricut Cartridges:
Elegant Embellishments - Card is cut 7.87"w 5.50"h. I like the cut out edges on the top layer of the card.
Mother's Day Phrases - Happy Mother's Day is cut 3.50"w 2.65"h. The flowers are also part of the cut.

Now it is your time to play along with us. For more inspiration, please visit My Sheri Crafts to see the pretty projects by the design team and our guest designer. Visit the individual blogs for more details. Remember several Ooh La La awards will be given and one person will be chosen to be our next guest designer.

Rainy Day

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!
We have been having several rainy days and more on the way. I decided to play along with a rainy day theme. The card is 5" x 6 1/2" white cardstock. I was inspired by the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I began the layers with the yellow solid cardstock and I continued with solid colors. This is not my usual style of papers--you know I love patterned papers--but I chose the solids this time. All the papers are from my scrap stack. My younger grandsons enjoy being outside on rainy days but they do not bother with any rain gear!!

Cricut Cartridges:
Everyday Paper Dolls - Boy wearing rain gear and the umbrella are layered together and is cut 3"h.
Disney Pooh and Friends -  Cloud and raindrops cut 3"w.  The cloud is used for the rain puddle. I failed to record the name of the cartridge for the gray cloud.
Cricut Font and Basic Shapes - Rainy Day is cut 1.74" w, 1.18" h.
Paisley - Heart button is cut 1" w. I added a bow with Sew Easy Fancy floss.

Challenges:
BBTB2 - April Showers
Simple Create Too - Ch. 83 No Digis or Stamped Images
The Sisterhood of Crafters - April Showers
Tuesday Morning Sketches -  Sketch 296
