Patchwork Easter Card

Welcome to Glenda's Cards

I am playing along with the fun sketch challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas. I decided to make an Easter card so I can play along with a few more fun challenges!
The card is 5" x 5" white cardstock and layered with a 4 3/4" square of lavender paper. The nine little squares are cut at 1 1/2". Easter papers are from a friend and other papers are left over from previous projects. This is a good sketch for using small pieces of paper. The fun is laying out the patchwork design! The ribbon is interwoven on the squares for a bit more color and design.

Cricut Cartridge:
Easter 2010 - Egg and shadow are cut at 2 1/2".

Other supplies:
Easter dimensional sticker is from a Walmart pack of handmade stickers. This has been in my stash for a year-maybe two. I thought the sticker would work well with the different colors in my card.
Ribbon is American Crafts - another after Easter clearance!
Paper Studio pearls
Egg is pop-dotted. Versa Magic inking.

Challenges:
Die Cuttin' Divas - Ch. 59 Sketch
Cooking With Cricut - Ch. 80 Easter theme
FCCB - Ch. 105 Egg
My Craft Spot - Ch 50 Easter
Simply Create Too - Ch 10 - Eggs &/or Bunnies ends 4/12

Rosette and Embossing

Welcome to Glenda's Cards

I had fun playing with new crafting items in making this card and I am liking the results! I will be sharing it in a few challenges!
Card is 5" x 7" cut from white Colorbok cardstock. It is layered with a 5" x 7" paper from my new K&Company Sweet Nectar Specialty Paper. This has really pretty papers plus some glittered papers.
White Colorbok mat measures 4 1/2" x 6 1/2". It is embossed with Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Splendid folder. Wow! These folders are 5"x7" and are reversible..you get two designs for added value! I inked the paper after it had been embossed with VersaMagic Dew Drop Dixie Dust. I love the light shading of pink.

Another new product is the Cheery Lynn French Pastry Doily Die and the matching Angel Wing. The doily is cut on my Cuttlebug using the white paper. Finished size is 4 1/8" x 4 1/8". Using the Angel Wing, I cut a piece of the patterned paper for the mat behind the doily.

The Rosette is a hand cut 1 1/4" x 12" strip of pink dot coordinating paper that was scored at each 1/4" on the Martha Stewart scoreboard.

Cricut Cartridge:
Cincy Loo - Page 38 Flourish Border is cut 1". I cut two of the flourishes to frame the doily.

Other supplies:
VersaMagic Gingerbread inking on the pattern papers. Pink button on rosette is from stash. Ribbon is blog candy from a friend. Small pink Recollection rhinestones are on the doily and accent some of the embossed flowers. Doily mat is pop-dotted for added dimension.
I omitted a sentiment for the front of the card. It can be used for several occasions including Easter, Mother's Day, Birthday, or Just Because card!
Enjoy!

Challenges:
BBTB2 - Cindy Loo Flourish
Die Cuttin' Divas - 3 R's  Rosette, Rhinestones, Ribbon

My Sheri Crafts Ch. 82 - MSC Turns Two!

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

Thanks for stopping by today! We have an exciting challenge for you at My Sheri Crafts. We are celebrating a birthday! Yes! My Sheri Crafts Turns 2! Happy Birthday! Time for fun and celebrating! Let's do fun birthday projects for toddlers or kids under 5. We want to see bright colors and fun projects--no elegant cards.  Sheri created a cute birthday button for the party! We would love for you to share it on your blog!
When I was thinking of what to do for this challenge, my thoughts turned to the fun Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge! This cartridge has a card feature with some great card shapes. I have not used this cartridge very often and I enjoyed playing with it for this card.

Using the Cricut Craft Room and the card feature on page 36, the card is cut at 5.25" from red cardstock. The word Birthday is part of the cut image. Finished size when folded is 5 1/2" width x 5 1/4" height. Card feature on shift gives the layer with the word bash. The polka dot paper is from a birthday kit. I layered a scrap of green glitter paper under the word opening.

The little monkey is the main image on page 36 and is cut at 2.875" x 2.75". He seems to be peeping from under the blindfold! Such  a cute cut! For a festive look, I decided to add a little hat. The hat is found on page 21 and is cut at 1 1/2". To add more fun to the monkey, it is attached to an Action Wobble.
Other supplies include inking and a white Gelly Roll pen used on the letters.

Now it is your turn to play along with us at My Sheri Crafts. Stop by the blog and see all the fun and festive projects that have been created by the talented design team and our guest designer Jessica at Cricut after Dark. We appreciate your comments and encourage you to become a follower if you are not already.  Remember several Ooh la la awards are given and one person will be chosen to be the next guest designer!

Hope you enjoy my fun and bright card! Happy Birthday My Sheri Crafts!
