Red Hat Lady Twisted Easel Card

Today I am sharing a birthday card made for a Red Hat Lady using the twisted easel card style. Mary has a great tutorial at Cardz TV for the twisted easel card. This is a fun card style which I enjoy making. I think it makes a pretty card for display.

The base of the card is cut 4 1/4" x 9 3/4". Papers are Recollections, Brazill, and Colorbok white.

Cricut cartridges:

Kate's ABC's - Page 28 - Hat is cut 1.75"

Wild Card - Page 61 Phrase "Happy Birthday" is cut 4".

Spellbinders Nestabilities Label Ten is used on the purple and white mats. 

Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots on the hat

Other supplies include Recollections Floral Embellishments and purple gemstones. Hat is pop-dotted on the mat. The sentiment mat is pop-dotted as a stop for the front of the card. Martha Stewart lavender ink.

BBTB2 - Christmas in July

Welcome to Glenda's Cards!

It is Monday and time for another fun challenge at BBTB2! Our talented design team sister Jayne is our hostess and she has chosen Christmas In July for our theme. Use any cut from any Cricut cartridge to make a Christmas card, layout, or project.

Cricut cartridge is Wrap It Up. Candy Cottage is on page 28. I have been wanting to cut the Candy Cottage for some time. So glad Jayne chose Christmas theme! I used the card feature for the house shaped card. It is cut 5.5" from the light green cardstock. The Candy Cottage image on shift was cut from the green patterned paper and glued on top of the card. Layer images were cut from the candy cane paper and the bright pink paper. Patterned papers are scraps from K&Company Secret Santa paper pad.

I hand cut beige/gold paper to glue behind the windows for the effect of inside light. The candy in the windows and one for the door knob are hand cut from the candy cane paper scrap.

Inking is Dew Drop Versa Magic Gingerbread. I chose not to have a sentiment/greeting on the front of the card.

My Sheri Crafts - Ch. 90 Ice Cream Cone / Dish

It is time for another fun challenge at My Sheri Crafts! Did you know that July is National Ice Cream month! Of course, ice cream is good any month! I am the hostess for this challenge and thought we could have fun with this cold, yummy treat! Our challenge is to use an ice cream cone or dish of ice cream on your card, layout, or 3D project!

My ice cream cone is made using Cricut Project Cartridge Sweet Tooth Boxes. This is one of the fun images on the cartridge that caught my eye and I just had to buy it several months ago. Would you believe this is my first time to try the ice cream cone! The ice cream cone is the second image on each row. For best results, the instructions are to cut the images at 9.5" or larger. I used 9.5" and the finished cone stands about 7.5".

Designer paper is Basic Grey Eva Collection pack that I have been hoarding for a long time! I think the paper is too pretty to cut but I did it!

Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Hearts design B is used on the pink ice cream.

Just Rite Stamps- Be Happy Set. Sentiment is stamped with green Martha Stewart ink. Pink trim is from design team sister, Charlotte. I am loving these trims! Green flower is Prima Flowers. Buttons are from the Eva Collection and the green and pink bows are DMC Memory Thread. There is a cut for a cherry to be placed on top of the cone, but I chose to use the button and bow.

I cut the Cone Layer 3 which is the white circle with the opening that is seen in the above photo. For a special treat, a cupcake can be set inside the opening. I had difficulty trying to get a good photo. My cupcake seemed a bit small for the opening and the chocolate curls started melting. After this one photo, I decided that I needed to eat the cupcake! It was yummy -bought from Wal-Mart bakery. Now I will have to add candy inside the cone!

BBTB2 - Fashion Show

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope your Monday is off to a good start! 

At BBTB2, it is time for another fun and inspirational challenge. Our talented design team sister Rebekah is the hostess and she chose "Fashion Show" for the theme. We are asked to use any fashion themed cut from any Cricut cartridge on our card, layout, or project. Sounds fun, huh! Well, put your sunshades on and I will tell you about my card! How about Zebra flair and a Red formal dress!

Cricut Cartridge: Formal Occasion

Working with Cricut Class Room, I welded 2 frame layers to make this unique card shape. The card is welded at the top. The image is on page 25 and uses the frame layer on shift cut at 5". The card is cut from Colorbok white cardstock. Frame layer on shift is cut again at 5" using the zebra print paper by g.c.d. studios Swirls and Curves. Frame layer no shift is cut from Red Recollections paper for the red accent edging. I like the shape of the card with all the swirls and curves!

Page 25- Dress is cut 3" and pop-dotted on the card base.

Phrase "Winter Formal" is cut at 1.25". This uses 4 different cuts to get this look. I offset this a bit on the top edge of the card and glued it.

Cuttlebug: Swiss Dots used on the dress layers.

3 Girl Jam - Holly Berry crinkle ribbon for the bow.

BBTB2 - Window Challenge

Thanks for stopping by! Today we have another fun and inspirational Cricut challenge for you at BBTB2! Our talented design team sister Brenda is the hostess this challenge and she chose Window to My World! We are asked to use any window from any Cricut cartridge for our card, layout, or 3D project!

Selecting a window was an easy choice for me. I love Christmas/Noel cartridge and this pretty window. I chose to make a Christmas card to get started on my upcoming holiday cards. This is July and I am seeing Christmas merchandise in some stores! I must be late already!

My card starts with a premade 5"x 6 1/2" white card base. Papers are K&Company Yuletide paper pad that was bought last Christmas.

Cricut Cartridge:

Christmas/Noel - Window is cut 5". I used 2 of the images for a bit of dimension to allow the use of the patterned paper behind the window. The paper is part of a decorated Christmas tree from the paper pad. I wanted it to resemble looking through the window to see the beautifully decorated vintage tree.

Wreath is cut 1.75" and is pop-dotted on the window.

Happy Christmas is cut .75".

Martha Stewart:  Poinsettia Flourish edge punch is used on the green paper.

Inking is Versa Magic gingerbread.
